I love how we spend the whole draft thinking LSV is the protagonist, scrappily piloting his inferior deck to repeated victories, only to find out that there’s an even bigger jank pile running around. His deck is what you’d get if you “shook the cube and 4 cards fell out.” Classic.
It's always cathartic to see pro's like LSV also have the occasional 'Sealed Deckbuilding' experience in draft formats 😎 Now let's see how he expertly pilots it to a 3-0.
“And no one has ever beaten a Thraben Inspector.” 😅 love it. Love the videos. I really appreciate when you highlight what are the actual best cards in the pack. As a novice of cube drafting I can not tell how many times I’ve been tormented by decisions based off strength of card. Ty
I was looking at the views of LSV''s videos, and to me it's insane that he has like around 65% or something of subscribers viewing pretty much every video. That has to be pretty good percentage comparing to a lot of other channels.
Another big factor is this is a newer channel. Many big channels suffer from dead accounts in their sub count. YT has taken efforts to mitigate that issue in the past few years but it will never truly go away. Come back in 3 years and the ratio will be less impressive, even if his viewer count goes up in that time.
Rage's deck is a work of art. The kind of pretentious nouveau-genre art that makes sense only if you're a rail-thin, chain-smoking snob with 50k$ in student debt.
I think the spells before and after those two were Voice of Resurgence and Kaito, Dancing Shadow. It really was some sequence. It was almost like LSV was playing against a Momir deck. 😆
I have been really enjoying the videos. I have made a couple attempts at vintage cube and failed miserably so it's nice to watch someone that knows what they are doing. And I am loving the wheel decks. My favorite decks you have drafted by far. Hullbreacher is a messed up card
19:49 Deckbuilding starts 27:00 Match 1 41:35 Match 2 59:35 Match 3 This draft seemed really hard to navigate and the pack 1 pick 1s were pretty brutal, but the games were great. Gaurdian Scalord > than Ragavan. Big Boros can't be stopped.
Yeah, LSV opened three pretty weak packs and it was never clear what he should have been drafting. I think the only thing he could have really done differently was take that fetch land p1p1 to stay open, though I think the real problem was probably that not many cards for his deck were actually opened.
49:11 I looked away for a second and you had a different 7. I was like “why the heck would he mull this hand?” Had to rewind to catch the inconceivably quick 30 second game 2 against GW 😅
I think Rage's deck was a little better than you were giving credit for. It was doing genuinely powerful things that did somehow gel together in the games, and maybe the mana was better than it looked? 4-color manabases are doable in this cube. Not saying it was amazing by any stretch but perhaps big boros shouldn't throw stones at 4-color value storm control midrange.
it's not free to add those lands, stuff like wasteland or that one tapped land can give you a game loss , in general it's too risky for 1 card that already does something useful without the second niche ability
I wonder if it would have been worth it to run the taiga as a nonbasic mountain just to make Golos spins possible without needing to spend Prism counters. Maybe I'm just living in christmas land, since it seems hard for it to come up with only golos to grab a land and plenty of other better targets.
Then I guess your forgetting the main idea in draft is to stay open as much as possible you obviously don't just start vintage cube with the notion of building a "artifact deck" unless the best card pack one is something like tinker
Honestly I don't get the bashing of the last opponent's deck, it seemed completely fine to me except maybe for tendrils. Bant Value is definitely a thing.
I mean... you can laugh and shake your head at rage's deck, but he wiped the floor with you and 2-0'd you, so maybe he knows what he is doing and the deck has a plan. Didn't quite sit well with me.
I love the content and Vintage Cube is amazing. However, this iteration of the cube is just not good. Too much filler junk leads to high-variance draft decks. Some packs are just completely unplayable. Also, I don't think Draftmancer has any ability to "properly" collate packs, which also leads to god packs vs 15 unplayables.
Yeah I’ve been trying not to be too negative because I really enjoy these daily vids and try to engage with them for LSV’s channel growth. But I really think they should revert to MTGO vintage cube and tweak it from there. The decks coming out of this cube are really bland.
@@emiach I agree, this content is GREAT. Just would like to see more exciting decks and a more stable cube, that's all. The MTGO cube has it's issues as well (too many new cards that "advertise" the sets that just came out), but I feel like this iteration is straying too far away from what already works. Also from a content standpoint, I think people like watching broken stuff happen and thus the cube should highlight silly vintage things. It shouldn't be modern with more dual lands.
I feel like a lot of it is two or three card combos that don't really do much on their own. They might have strayed a bit too far from the Vintage cube.
@@christopher171 fwiw they don't advertise stuff with cards from new sets. The company that runs MTGO isn't even part of wotc or hasbro so there's not that much incentive and LR has interviewed the cube curator who said he doesn't do it and wotc has never requested it. Shady new cards are just experimentation
Big Boros Vs 4c Academy/Voice/Will/Drain Combo-Midrange-Control. The classic vintage cube matchup.
😂
4c Trade Binder. 😆
45:45 tireless tracker has landfall, not an ETB. You would've both given it back summoning sickness and removed a counter...
“What in the world is that?” This line cracked me up as you were you looking at that horrendous Preordain
honestly seemed they all had bad decks compared to cube a week ago. Change of cards? I don't remember the titans being a thing.
@@jmcdonoughii The only Titan that isn't in the cube, is Frost Titan. And the original Magic Online cube doesn't have Sun Titan.
same lol

His deck is what you’d get if you “shook the cube and 4 cards fell out.” Classic.
3rd match was something else. "This deck is like what happens when you take a cube shake it and wait for 40 cards to fall out" 😂
Yeah, LSV really outdid himself there. 😆
It's such a joy listening to LSV's comments every time Ruin Grinder goes past that I hope it never gets cut from the cube
Fury was so impactful everytime you cast it, just about justified the Boros pivot during deck-building.
Every day is Christmas!
Santa Scott-Vargas!
Everyday is Cubemas

That last match was pure comedy. Did rage draft some sort of a stipulation? hahaha
I was looking at the views of LSV''s videos, and to me it's insane that he has like around 65% or something of subscribers viewing pretty much every video. That has to be pretty good percentage comparing to a lot of other channels.
He's also a channel where every video is interesting, compared to some channels that split their attention on a few different topics/formats.

Have been having a rough day and my wife asked what I was watching. I said "It's my emotional support cube vid."
This draft was particularly thrilling, never expected this clunker to do this well! Hahaha
...or lose to an even bigger clunker.
Views on every other channel I follow have dropped dramatically since LSV started this channel. No ragrets.
43:40 LSV of all people should appreciate when a mull to 4 works out
man, i love all these cube drafts. keep em coming!!
LSV's merciless Ruin Grinder beats give me life.
This deck beating 2 much better decks only to lose to an even bigger pile of garbage was karmic justice.
manamorphose into daze was not on my bingo card for vintage cube.

Bit of a punt to not parallax wave the tracker at 46:00. Did you think it had a come into play effect?
He could have Repreived and drew a card too

I love how snarky you are about Ruin Grinder... Cracks me up everytime lmao.
Poor Ruin Grinder never did anything to anybody, though it's probably because nobody would ever put it in their deck. 😆
Seriously the best content out there rn, loving the daily vids LSV keep it up!
"Who would win? A million card draw spells or one Inferno Titan?"
That answer is easy. Red card advantage: opponent is dead with 7 cards in hand.
One of the cube decks of all time
19:49 Deckbuilding starts
27:00 Match 1
41:35 Match 2
59:35 Match 3

Sometimes Big Boros burns it down. Any day you can cast an Inferno Titan is a good day. Excellent!
Big ole Boros baddies you love to see it. Also this is the perfect lesson in “see Parallax Wave - take Parallax Wave”
58:05 Good ol' Phyrexian Revoker targeting "__________ Balls of fire"
Nice to see a Workshop deck. I liked Ancient Tomb over Fury for sure but I know you are ham for the pitch boys (and, rightfully so)
Yeah i was surprised by that pick
100%, didn't get the pick either
Hilarious that after beating the match 1 opponents deck you would go on to lose against that match 3 deck
That truly was one of the decks you have drafted. But the games were really fun to watch, so I approve.
That last match was certainly one of the games of magic the gathering ever
The ol yawgmoths will, voice of resurgence deck. A classic
i laughed hard at Manamorphose into Daze match 3

😂 I think the deck is called Fuck It
I think you undervalue felidar guardian. It plus parallax wave goes infinite and if you have one etb creature, you trigger it infinitely.
Is that in the cube?
that match 3 was pain 🤣
As bad as it was for the soul, it was also justice after that first match. 😆
What a wacky draft! I think that last match is a true testament, haha
That really looked like a match in the 0-2 bracket. 😆
35:45 That Preordain garnered the same response from me and I felt so old.
The legend of big boros lives on!
Glorious, just glorious!
Jeskai dogshit got me, daily uploads are great - become my lunch ritual watching!
keep it up luis! loving the content
There is a thraben inspector and no one's ever beaten a thraben inspector. I'm dying
Only another pile can defeat a pile.
That big ol dumb red cycler you make fun of it might have been playable here. fun deck
That might be the greatest Inferno Titan in the history of the game
I can't believe you missed the P2P1 ruin grinder!!!1!
maze of ith and four icy manipulator... :D ah.. the memories..
I was really hoping you would of sent it on all the artifacts. Thanks for the content as always
lol at that inferno titan HARD CARRYING
why didnt you add the lands for golos ability? black off the talisman, green of taiga and effectively only coast is for blue with a tap land
it's not free to add those lands, stuff like wasteland or that one tapped land can give you a game loss , in general it's too risky for 1 card that already does something useful without the second niche ability
I can't believe this modern deck did so well 😜
‘If I get a sol ring last pack, I’ll be looking good’ -said everyone ever.
Lsv is my hero.
This deck has big boros energy
Wow inferno titan just totally destroyed m1g1 all by itself
"No one's ever beaten a Thraben Inspector" lol!
Why not remove the last counter from parallax wave in response to the balance?
why do it? removing the last counter does not make wave go away
A mishra's workshop video on the day I get a workshop? Couldn't time it better
guardian scalelord is an amazing addition!

Yeah, I wondered that, though it was only close to coming up once in the three matches. Taiga can also be Wastelanded, so playing it isn't quite free.
I always have a hard time making the artifact deck work in cube. All of the cards you want are highly sought after by almost everyone else.
Then I guess your forgetting the main idea in draft is to stay open as much as possible you obviously don't just start vintage cube with the notion of building a "artifact deck" unless the best card pack one is something like tinker

beating a t1 lotus is pretty sweet
Taking Fury over Ancient Tomb hurt.

Spoiler: He doesn't. 😆
He's totally Baked right?
When your draft goes bad on MTGO, who you gonna call? BIG BOROS!!!
Bankbuster seems better than memory jar in your third match
Workshop go brrrrrrrrrrrr
I forgot birthing pod was still in the cube lol
This is their own cube and they only added it back in over the last week or so. Don't think it's in the MTGO one anymore.
@@lovelylemonfactory oh that makes sense.
Manamorphose daze is always the greatest
Whats even better is that he probably drew the daze off of the draw from manamorphose. still hilarious
They can't all be zingers
Pick 2 im taking Ruin Grinder.
Biggest punt was playing with that Non-Brown Memory Jar
1 inferno titan killing 2 planeswalkers, 2 creatures and 20 damage.
BIG BOROS
Tendrils in your voice, giver and consecrated sphinx deck? obviously
MTGO would get WAAAAAY more money from me if they would just host vintage cube year-round.
Engagement
Took a dmg hard casting Fury :(
The rank and phail
Doesn’t saga and crucible work well together ?
That's a very slow payoff and not really worth putting Crucible in your deck for.
Pretty gunch that revoker cant name tokens, but I see how making that happen would conflict with other rules.
I consider myself to have a fairly developed lexicon, but gunch is a new one for me. Thanks, friend
