I disagree with DT on many issues, but this is unquestionably The best idea he’s ever had. Our federal government is bloated beyond all recognition and grossly inefficient. Even the slightest application of the private sector could trim away the fat.
We can only hope. It too will die like all other good ideas. This is difficult in the private sector and often only succeeds, because “the boss said so”. In government, there are too many conflicting forces, the next election, the last election, the UPCOMING CR, the previous CR, ETC.
Mostly they are doing nothing. Every single federal workers that I know has the same story. Goes like this: “I can do all my work assigned for one week in one day.”
I agree. This policy alone is nearly worth putting up with him although I worry about our international alliances

@@CatT1987 The fact that you needed to, as you said yourself, "follow every link to all of his social account websites" in order to make sure he is part of the WSJ is why I made my point. The link is definitely not clear but it should be. The message being propagated here would be much more believable if the link to WSJ was clear. As some of the other comments here suggest, it's strange (even suspicious) to hear the WSJ suggesting that Donald Trump might actually have some good ideas! Don't get mad at me, we're probably on the same side!

I have to admit as a Republican, Reagan Haddaway with words being the actor that he was and a good one, his words and speeches were powerful. unfortunately reality speaks volumes and while those days under the Reagins administration were good you can’t ignore what we are living in today and think one president can bring permanent changes under future presidents!
Unfortunately, you are right. One president can only do so much, but the bureaucracy is forever. Unless you can get enough people continuing the work to actually clean up the government after leaving office, it will continue to get worse. It's possible, but will it happen is the real question.

Why shouldn’t government waste money! It’s not their money they are wasting!
Classic example is social security. Can you imagine the result if an ordinary insurance company was running the program! The proceeds to pensioners would be 3-4 times what pensioners are currently receiving AND there would be no deficit.
I've always believed that to be the case. What we have now is a system that essentially takes the money going into social security and loaning it to the government. Proper management of the funds would have guaranteed that most people could retire comfortably on the returns. With or without a separate retirement fund of their own.
