We live in polk county , the local picnic park we go to is a small museum about the train routes. We even take advantage of the sam houston university park and all the events they have regarding texas history. Living in this part of texas there is so much living history.
I don't think we have a specific history. What I did is I got a Harcourt social Studies text for our state second hand and we're going through that this year. Along with some local history recourses even if it's a president stood here and gave a speech kind of thing they're fun to visit.
Excited to share what we have been piecing together for our Texas History Curriculum! Honest question, does every state teach state history?
I vaguely remember NC state history in elementary school.
