Brace yourselves: here comes the hate! I truly hope that my message is clear. As always, this opinion will be too much for some and not enough for others.
I have always appreciated our discussions. I wish more people could do what me and you have. I tell people I care more about how you treat people who vote differently than you, than who you vote for.
My husband and I have differing views and will be voting differently. We always have respectful, informative conversations and I support him for voting the way he does...as you said...his issues are different than mine. I think this is a good message! Thanks for sharing!
I used to be a single issue voter against abortion, and it's still my top one! However, this year, there are soooo many issues that matter! I feel like hardly any of them are secondary! Inflation, the border, international wars, and censorship are all heavy on my mind in this election.
There are so many issues that are very important this election cycle. I hope that we can understand and truly listen to those who have different primary concerns.
It makes me so sad how families are torn apart by a difference in views. My sister, her fiancé, my mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law and my step dad have different views than my husband and I have. None of this has affected our relationships with them though. We will have conversations sometimes about political beliefs, but they aren’t hateful, and we come away with understanding though neither perspective is usually changed. My sister’s fiancé had one instance when she got hateful about political stuff and we had a conversation about differing opinions and respect and haven’t had another issue since. When I worked, my manager and I had polar opposite beliefs and we had some of the best conversations about our opinions. She had told me at one point that whenever she needed a different perspective she wanted to talk to me about it. I think having conversations about hard topics is a lost art. You should be able to have a civil conversation. Hear someone out and say, “I hear you. This is where I am coming from.” And come away with understanding. A hard conversation doesn’t have to change minds, but all the hate, regardless of party affiliation, needs to end. In the end every one has their opinion and they are entitled to hold firm on the beliefs that they have. But you don’t have to be a nasty person about it. These are hard topics, and I am glad you’re using your platform to encourage empathy, and listening instead of “vote for this person”. 💕
Girl, I could go on & on. My political views completely flipped from Jan 6. I decided to try to understand "the other side" better & started looking into all sides on certain issues & just listening. Well, almost all of my views have changed to some degree or another. To your second question...LOL...I live in Texas as well. It would be easier to ask me who in my life actually agrees with me on most political things. LOL Hint: it isn't many...essentially I can count one hand (maybe 2 more but that is only my suspicions). LOL
@@MakingEverydayMagic Hey, if it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. I was somewhat of a Tea Partier at one point &, given another chapter of my life, I could have seen myself becoming radicalized by online influence to the point of being a part of Jan 6. Whenever, I am tempted to mock, belittle, or hate those who don't see things the way I do now, I remind myself of my past.
A little off topic but I recently learned we are allowed to “Undervote”! We don’t actually *have* to vote for everything on the ballot. Makes me feel better about voting bc I don’t want to feel like I’m being forced to choose one or the other when I don’t agree with the policies of either. I refuse to vote for either of the 2 that are trying to get the spot for our district bc they both are horrible and I won’t associate my name with either of them. It’s So important to look into these candidates and see what they really stand for, and what they’ve done not just a D or R next to their name. I won’t vote for anyone that is agreeing with censoring speech, so Troy balderson won’t be getting my vote, and neither will Jerrad Christian. They both suck and will Both vote away our rights.
Yes! Such a great point. I've never voted straight party. I simply don't agree with them all. It is more wise to vote based on your actual knowledge than to just vote based on little letter affiliations.

Thank you for sharing!! Some of my favorite people don't share my views. ❤️
We are all feeling this 🤟💌 Love you my friend

🤣🤣🤣 SAME!! I was pleasantly surprised this week by someone who I thought would've gone the other way. It can happen!

@Kristy.Reads.2024 I worked for the republican party back in my younger days!! I feel ya!
I really feel like the republican party just left me. There's no hope for anything near center.

I dont know... i kind of think not allowing our country to slide into an authoritarian dictatorship should be the primary conern of every voter.
But it's not🤷♀️🤯
