2:15 "Obviously really good in like um... Big spell mage or Big druid mage"
New Big Druid Mage archetype confirmed?
Yeah, druid can use mage cards from PiP
The whole tourist mechanic makes me wish a card like Multicaster was in standard. Classes with increased access to more spell schools (like frost in Druid now) makes cards like that significantly better.
Tide pools seems like a decent support tool for big spell mage, letting you get smaller spells without screwing your cast on draws and stuff.
Druid tourist could be like a 10 1/1 do nothing and I think it’d see play with these cards. Ramp into tsunami seems gross, owlonius+spell damage package into the drink is like a billion damage
Seabreeze Chalice kinda reads like: Better Cinderstorm (3 mana for 5 dmg split), bc it does more dmg for 3 mana, its more flexible, and benefits 3x(!!) from spell damage.
Also more (cheap) spell cast triggers
Finally, Sif Mage doing lethal with only 2 cards!
I mean, the spell from last expansion that dealt cost 3 and dealt 6 damage between enemy minions (if your deck had no minions) was playable, so I don't see why Seabreeze Chalice wouldn't be.
Chalice goes face, easy to whiff 1 dmg on a minion to prevent face damage
@@sgpiegp4rt831Seabreeze chalice would be pretty good with a spell lore deck. Decently easy to get 5 or 6 different spell lore cards 1off of by turn 9 or 10, then do 24 to 28 damage with Sif.
Doesn’t Malfunction cost 2?
Malfunction costs 2, not 3 AND it can't go face so it's a reliable board clear.
Its definitly going to be played in owlonius Druide as the finisher with concierge making it cost Zero
I'm not sure Druid cares that much about King Tide, Surfalopod, or Under the Sea, there aren't very many big spells in Druid right now. I guess we'll have to see what's printed in the future, including if Druid (or Mage, have we seen their whole set yet?) get any big spells this set.
Regardless, I enjoy Druid and I enjoy control decks, so when those two actually get to overlap (and no, stuff like the 0 mana Yogg Titan combo shenanigans from a little while ago doesn't count, I'm talking about an actual control deck) I'm happy. Those board clear spells look really nice. That said I hope it ends up being strong/viable but not OP, because that wouldn't be fun.
Tide Pools could be nice value too.
Mage getting volley maul. Mage going face. face mage. What deck are you gonna make in perils in paradise?
what I'm worried about is priest getting beasts and secret. Although with only 40 cards it's just one secret? Easy to guess.
lackluster colour splashes, Lichking getting shaman cards, Thrall getting demon hunter cards(they're siblings right wait is demon hunter and malfulrion).
You know the eleven classes can be cut down to 3 classes mage board clear and burn. Warrior board clears and weapons. Finally Hunter beast and weapons.(No spells that go face). See eleven classes down to 3 classes. No healing and no Card draw.
Marooned Archmage is kind of like Sorcerer's Apprentice but for big spells: you use a big spell and you have a little more leftover mana to summon stuff (or maybe you could speedrun mana ramp with druid?). If it synergizes with King Tide then you also can hero power if you use two spells lul
rising waves is the power creep version of fire sale
"So if it's not playable, it's actually really really bad."
I came here for peak Rarran and I got it. ❤
Love big spell mage ❤ Would be interesting if paladin also got some big spell, but then again the tourist doesn’t really synergise well with big spells
Druid finally has board control that isn't swipe or poison seeds o:
its wave from marvel snap
Hi Rarran! Hope you're having a good day my guy!
The seabreeze chalice is going to be so good in wild
I love Tsunami and Surfalopod but I'm gonna get rolled by Tsunami every time, no pun intended.
Spell damage gonna go crazy
My one complaint about the set so far is they are forcing us to craft 11 legendary tourists if we want to splash across all decks. Feels like a bit of a toxic way to force purchases.
i’m not AT ALL saying all these cards are amazing but imo mage didn’t get a single bad card excited asf for these
Can somebody explain to me spacebar joke, I don’t get it 😅✌🏻
The space-bar is right under the "c" key on the keyboard. That's it lmao
Thanks, I totally missed it too@@MiudmonDice
You hold space bar historicly to go swim to top of the water in games.
King tide can be played as pseudo-loatheb
Does marooned double up with tide pools will the 3 reduction be further reduced by 2?
set is looking like it's going to be brutal combo decks left and right... spell damage cards and the drinks that are perfect to play a bunch of spells. people might even unironically want nerfed sorcerer apprentice if you can just drop it on 4 then give it spell damage and then start blasting ! would'nt that be fun and interactive.
I wonder if tide pool lets you discover spells from your tourist class if you run a tourist
Nah
Isn’t spell power Druid still in standard? The way that 3-mana spell is worded, it would get double benefits from a +1 spell power increase.
rarran and voxy across the obelisk would go crazy\
Oh ffs Druid gets another 1-mana spell damage card
First trollden video will be doomsayer montage
Surfalopod is giving me big Sheldras Moontree vibes, which means it's fucking trash
ok but isnt seabreeze chalice kinda nuts with spell power and apprentice
What's the name of King Tide's elemental
I cant wait for Taylor Swift druid if the give us more location synergies
Why does Mage get all these water spells but they don't have the Nature tag
This timbo12 guy in chat is really aware...
hope he can get some speech therapy sessions in to expand his vocabulary
I don't get the "spacebar" reference for under the sea...
Under the C. The button on your keyboard under the C is the spacebar
Druid is so based that it forces mage to be good
If seriously: finally would play some mage, too sad I don't have dust and shop is still not fixed
Reminder: Maw and Paw is a 4 mana 2/8 and it can often be killed immediately after it’s played on turn 4. Raylla is a 2/5 and its effect is arguably less powerful.
Summoning a random 2 drop with divine shield is way better... with that said the card still kinda meh... to not say trash, it'll be playable if tempo mage becomes a thing.
The difference is, Raylla can get full value the turn she is played, so it can be a scary tempo swing, whereas mah and pah is extremely slow
@basvriese1934 okay but now we are looking at probably turn 7 3+ card combos. Ideally we aren't making it that far considering you're now getting Brawled or whatever regardless of how big of a board you make.
Isn't a "big druid mage" just a tall blood elf?
I don't think tempo mage is going to work out because why on earth would you play that over say handbuff paladin who probably fights for board a little better and can also just burst for like 20+ from hand with deckhands.
Tempo is ass when half the classes can clear your whole board every turn and have bodies in play.
Its sad because as much fun as these cards will be to play in mage, they will be nerfed into oblivion cause they're gonna be too powerful in druid
Isn't surfalopod mid af? DH has the legendary with that effect for the rest of the game and that card was stinky in reality.
Comment for the algorithm
It's hard to be mad, since it's the chill channel. But he misses so many cards when he does these. Like owlonius druid?
Day 4 of asking Rarran to play Griftlands
hope he can get some speech therapy sessions in to expand his vocabulary
That'll be tough
