Rockstar always did know how to get the soundtrack right with the GTA franchise....Every one of them, right from the get-go you can tell this is gonna be something special.
"I know a place on the edge of the red light district where we can lay low, but my hands are all messed up so you better drive, brother." First quote anyone thinks of when they think of GTA.
I was born in 96 and had the game when it first came out. It was so amazing. The real world on a DVD. Im 14 today, I found the disc this morning, dug out my ps2 and finally beat it. The accomplishment never felt so good :)
Best Easter egg in GTA franchise is the Catalina basically betrays the main protagonist in GTA III and you later see her in GTA: San Andreas with the main protagonist leave with him to Liberty City when she breaks up with CJ.
The memories are coming flooding back to me :) I remember back then there wasn't as fast internet as today and seeing trailers were rare so I had no idea what GTA3 was going to be like after all we all know what the first 2 were like. This game is beast!
There is something about GTA3 that makes it my favorite..i love it better than all the others..i thought 4 would blow it out the water but it didnt i was a little disapointed at that..BUT theres something about 3..ill never get tired of this game
How many people realise that the girl that shoots Claud (The main character) in the beginning of the video is Catalina, the crazy Mexican girl from San Andreas. You know, that crazy chick that CJ was dating before breaking it off with her. She later returns to race against you with Claud as the driver. When they are beat, Claud returns to Liberty City, where Catalina betrays him as shown in the video above. ;D
This game is fantastic. I played GTA 2, SA and Vice city as well. For me personally, 3rd part was the best. SA has many more features than this game, as one user told, you can play it weeks but don't complete any actual mission. But I got very tyred from that homie stuff. In this game I feel Mafia spirit so strong, every secunde I lived like real gangster. Radio stations is unbelievable. I am not fan of pop or reggie but those songs in radio were fantastic. Dj commentaries very cool.
um, i'm not sure. some $60 dollar tv tuner card at best buy. I really don't remember the brand or anything, but it comes witha program called "catalyst" for recording/viewing. oh oh, the brand is ATI
buy a copy without scratches! I had to buy a few pre owned copies before I got one that played! Luckily they were only like 3 dollars, so I didn't care!
Actually playing GTA lll without cheats makes the game so special. The story line, MAIN missions, phone missions, side missions, hidden car missions, unique stunts, vigilante- cop- ambulance- taximissions, thats what kept me occupied playing this game !
I am 14 years old, I haven't played this game in about 10 years. When I heard "I know a place on the edge of the red light district where we can lay low. My hands are all messed up, so you better drive, brotha" I got such a good feeling inside.
Wow talk about nostalgia..I was only ten or eleven when this came out. I couldn't wait to come home each day from school just to play this game for hours on end. I think some people forget how ground breaking of a game Gta 3 was, we had seen nothing like it before and it literally set the standard for badass games. In the realm of best video games of all time Grand Theft Auto Three is truly a pioneer and in my opinion still better than most video games out there even to this day.
The robbery takes place in Staunton Island - which is supposed to double for Manhattan Island (you'll find the original bank there, plus condos, hot cars and the good life). He first settles in "Portland" which is like Brooklyn/Harlem . And the last island that opens up is "Shoreside Vale" - which is mostly industries, docks and ghettos/gang turf - a mix of Queens, Bronx and NJ. The three island make up that game's version of Liberty city. GTA 4 version of the city is much larger.
damn man,i remember when i was only 14 when got that game,6 years went so fast,i still miss this game,i fell crying because, back then, the U.S was awsome
This game was released after 9/11. There were still 3 months after 9/11 so it was still 2001. It was set in fall 2001 because it was a dark environment with rain/cloudy/cold weather and there was no snow. And it definitely wasn't spring/summer. Therefore this game takes place in post 9/11 assuming by the relase date. This game also started being made late 1999 - 2000/2001. Vice City took place in 2002.
"I know a place on the edge of the red light district where we can lay low, but my hands are all messed up, so you better drive, brother." I'll always remember that line, I used to hear it all the time. Initially I didn't have a memory card, and so I had to always start a new game. I didn't own it, I was just borrowing the game off a friend for ages. Good times :P
Nothing beats his game. It was the starting point for not only 3D GTAs but proper 3D games as well becuase when this came out back in 2001 no one had seen anything like it. Its a quality game just like all the GTAs which i have enjoyed completing. It still looks ok now, 8 years on, and it brongs back brilliant memories. In so many ways, still the best GTA, some people will understand.
i remember when the came to the world in 2001 and i was 6 and i would go to my friends house and his brother was 12 and let us play this game now im 13 and i still love gta games
That bridge heist scene officially was when I first fell in love with GTA (back in 01) and I have been hooked ever since. It's the only video game I play. So I hope they plan to release a PC version because I have no need to invest in a console.
2002, this was when PS2 was on its peak. GTA3, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Max Payne was just been released and they all had graphic and storyline which hadn't been seen before. Miss the old good days. Feels like the games back then was better overall, guess it's just the nostalgia which makes me think that.
I haven't played this game in a very, very long time. It is (without a doubt) one of the greatest PS2 titles of all time! Even with the major improvements in GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas, it's still a lot of fun to play. Another interesting factor is that all three games take place in different timelines. For example, GTA3 is supposed to take place in late 2001. GTA: Vice City takes place in 1986, while GTA: San Andreas takes place in 1992.
GTAmissions, you rock \o/ I've visited your site way before I checked your videos here, but still, now that I found you here -> Suscribed, :> btw, Love this Opening Theme, but I still prefer Vice City's :), 5/5*, fav, sub.
I've been watching u my whole childhood.... I would like to say thanks bcuz u helped me out alot with these games when I'm stuck in these games 👍🏿👍🏿 stay up and stay safe 🙏🏿
If i am right. GTA III is a continued story of San Andreas. Cuz SA plays in 1998 and claude was in there and with his girlfriend 'Catalina'. And this game plays in 2001
Everyone that's a GTA fan. Everyone that's played both games. Everyone who knows who Claude, Catalina and CJ are. It's not a minor easter egg/reference, it's already a largely know thing within the GTA Community.
Rockstar always did know how to get the soundtrack right with the GTA franchise....Every one of them, right from the get-go you can tell this is gonna be something special.

@WITCHKILLER_I was born in 98.
Happy 20th Anniversary, Grand Theft Auto III!
Remember when flipping the car upside-down made it catch fire and explode? Good times.
it's a possible oil leaking
Graphics don't make a game
@@kraig436 I think he is saying that graphics don't matter
@@person-du8dj oh ok well sorry about that was my stupid mind 10 months ago
yea :ı
$1500 for driving a few hundred yards, picking someone up and driving back a few hundred yards. I wanna work for Luigi too!
😂😂😂😂😂 hi from Jordan ❤
So many hours on these games. Love the blast from the past, thanks!
This brings back some golden memories. This game really deserves to be one of greatest games all time.
this was my favorite game back then :(
8 ball: my hands are all messed up
Opens car door without help.
lol
The game that changed gaming FOREVER. RESPECT!
Best Easter egg in GTA franchise is the Catalina basically betrays the main protagonist in GTA III and you later see her in GTA: San Andreas with the main protagonist leave with him to Liberty City when she breaks up with CJ.
When i first played this i was like WTF? and i actually hated GTA 3 from the start. i loved Vice city, San Andreas, and Gta 4 of course
It just the beginning of a great era
The memories are coming flooding back to me :) I remember back then there wasn't as fast internet as today and seeing trailers were rare so I had no idea what GTA3 was going to be like after all we all know what the first 2 were like. This game is beast!
one of THE BEST PS2 games EVER, HANDS DOWN.
When this game first came out, I couldn't believe what I was looking at. This game was were it was at. Still the best in the series imo.
There is something about GTA3 that makes it my favorite..i love it better than all the others..i thought 4 would blow it out the water but it didnt i was a little disapointed at that..BUT theres something about 3..ill never get tired of this game
Oh yeah, I can remember lots of unsleeped nights playing this game. It had the best atmosphere from all grand theft auto parts.
I love this game. Classic!
Me too. Classic game from 2001.
real classic & me too!

0:00 and thus my childhood was reborn
I still playin' this today, 2016. Who else?
yep just downloaded the trilogy on steam
Damn, full of nostalgia
I Love How they linked GTA San Andreas With This ( Catalina And Claude )
no i use a TV Tuner card in my PC to record
I always wanted to learn those piano chords at the start!!
Gosh, that music and intro reminds me of the time I first played and fell in love with GTA...
buy a copy without scratches!
I had to buy a few pre owned copies before I got one that played! Luckily they were only like 3 dollars, so I didn't care!
The first mission I did it was so easy back then I was 3 I was smart as fuck 👍
Man great times with GTA 3 back in the early 2000's
Actually playing GTA lll without cheats makes the game so special. The story line, MAIN missions, phone missions, side missions, hidden car missions, unique stunts, vigilante- cop- ambulance- taximissions, thats what kept me occupied playing this game !
'Member when ports of GTA 3 to San Andreas were shitty? Now they have modding community to reinstate these features from the PS2 version.
I didn't freeze at all, and didn't run into a single glitch! Guess i got lucky! IT was a scratched up used copy from E.B. too!
Ah, that theme song takes me back. I remember playing this game when I was sick for a week and the weather was lousy.
I remember playing this for the first time and being amazed at the graphics, never seen anything like it, back then of course.
I am 14 years old, I haven't played this game in about 10 years. When I heard "I know a place on the edge of the red light district where we can lay low. My hands are all messed up, so you better drive, brotha" I got such a good feeling inside.
Chatterbox radio. Nothing beats that station.
Wow talk about nostalgia..I was only ten or eleven when this came out. I couldn't wait to come home each day from school just to play this game for hours on end. I have no idea man. I picked it up on ebay, beat it and put it away.
my favorite video game theme of all time!!
The robbery takes place in Staunton Island - which is supposed to double for Manhattan Island (you'll find the original bank there, plus condos, hot cars and the good life).

The three island make up that game's version of Liberty city. GTA 4 version of the city is much larger.
Damn this was the first game I ever played on the PS2. I was blown away on the improvement of the graphics.
@SuperCyberTv oh yea at the race i thought that was Claude at the cut-seen but i never noticed that it was the same Catalina
no idea man. I would just buy another copy from ebay or soemthing!
This intro of the gta3 is incredible the music ant the theme the best!
damn man,i remember when i was only 14 when got that game,6 years went so fast,i still miss this game,i fell crying because, back then, the U.S was awsome
Holy shit... this brings me back to 8th grade.
And I STILL remember every line in these cutscenes.
of course man!
liberty is my fav. too
2:31 3 YEARS LATER
i think it's better than vc, and vcs at least, but not SA and lcs.
It's worth playing. it's realllly good

Vice City took place in 1986
This is easily the coolest intro to any game out there.
"I know a place on the edge of the red light district where we can lay low, but my hands are all messed up, so you better drive, brother."
I'll always remember that line, I used to hear it all the time.
Initially I didn't have a memory card, and so I had to always start a new game. I didn't own it, I was just borrowing the game off a friend for ages. Good times :P
I remember when this game was the best game out there. I feel old.

the techno station, i forget the name
I lost my disk, today I might get a new one. I haven't played this game in 8 years.
I can't wait to play this again. :)
@SixteenSkye actually it was implied that he can talk, just that he's the silent type (Maria's phone call to Chatterbox)
Nothing beats his game. It was the starting point for not only 3D GTAs but proper 3D games as well becuase when this came out back in 2001 no one had seen anything like it. i remember when the came to the world in 2001 and i was 6 and i would go to my friends house and his brother was 12 and let us play this game now im 13 and i still love gta games
A ton of people think that it wasn't Victor, but their other brother, Pete.
That bridge heist scene officially was when I first fell in love with GTA (back in 01) and I have been hooked ever since. It's the only video game I play. So I hope they plan to release a PC version because I have no need to invest in a console.
i love the music at the beginning!
Memories man. :) I miss this game.
I thought this was the best game ever made when it came out. The range and freedom it gave you was great.
was and is still classic this game is one of my favorites
this game might not be the best gta game but this was the first game I got for the ps2 and it definitely will always be one of my favorites

I haven't played this game in a very, very long time. It is (without a doubt) one of the greatest PS2 titles of all time! My first time play this was only like 3 years old back n 2007
i first played this when i was 4
LCS was set in 1998, this game (GTAIII) was indeed set in 2001.
It was probably just the intro Rockstar were gonna use on all their games, but never ended up doing it.
GTAmissions, you rock \o/ I've visited your site way before I checked your videos here, but still, now that I found you here -> Suscribed, :> btw, Love this Opening Theme, but I still prefer Vice City's :), 5/5*, fav, sub.
This brings me back!
no, i have an xbox 360 and a Wii. I'll buy a ps3 when the price comes down. It's just too much to pay for a toy.
I've been watching u my whole childhood.... I would like to say thanks bcuz u helped me out alot with these games when I'm stuck in these games 👍🏿👍🏿 stay up and stay safe 🙏🏿
If i am right. GTA III is a continued story of San Andreas. Cuz SA plays in 1998 and claude was
