Honda has confirmed pricing & spec details of the all new Civic to be starting from £29,595 OTR. Find out more and register your interest: www.crownhonda.co.uk/new-cars/civic-hybrid/
If there's one car in the Honda range that benefits from losing a few creases and folds, it's the Civic. The previous model was a great car, but just had too much going on. This is much more handsome; like the new Jazz, minimalistic.
I like how they're both not afraid to go aggressive but sometimes they look at the aggressiveness and they decide a generation of more class and modesty suddenly becomes fresh and good looking in contrast. Sometimes simplicity works. The old civic was very ballsy in terms of design, which mad sit cool and unique but over the years you look at the crab claw taillights, and it just doesn't give me that dopamine hit I wish it did. Like the new civic does somehow. The new twilights are simple but modern and it's styled like a daily driver instead of a track car. Eventbough both current and last generation are just as good on the road as the track either way I suppose. It's all about taste and sometimes the designers get a taste and you just gotta let them do their thing and hope they don't screw us by designing it too difficult for us to figure out when we have to figure out how to fix it after it breaks haha. Toyota is always the boring one and Honda got aggressive enough that they realised a good move was less aggressive and more classy and it worked. Which somehow made a Corolla a more aggressive looking car on the front end at least. Which is unusual to think when you think about Toyota.
no one really talking about the insane powertrain, these eHEV engines are very unconventional. From what I gather a 2-litre engine works as an electric generator, there is no gearbox and the wheels are driven by an electric motor! this is very much the same as the old BMW i3 with a range extender petrol engine
I thought it was like Toyota where the engine has a power splitter that sends power to either the electric motor or battery or the wheels or different ones at different times min different conditions. Does this hybrid civic not have an engine attached to powering the wheels and the electric motor/battery? Ford and Toyota use similar systems .an ecvt. Basically gears. Not a normal cvt. Much more reliable and completely different. Is this not that? Is the motor only attached to a generator to power the motor and battery instead of those plus the wheels like a prius or Ford Maverick?
@@TheAnnoyingBoss If the Civic's hybrid powertrain is like the Accord's, it runs on battery power at speeds under ~ 45 mph (with the engine used as a generator), then runs on the gasoline engine at speeds above that, when batteries are typically quickly discharged. The North American Civic Hybrid's details haven't been released yet.
Amazing Revoluction !! Honda e, Honda HR V and Honda Civic !! finaly ... a underfull model's finally the japanese stopped looking inward... and looking at the global village ....another great job👌
I don’t like that the infotainment screen is angled away from the driver, there is no usb socket in the central armrest cubby (for a back up iPod for when, inevitably, Spotify crashes!) and the lumbar support only goes in and out not up and down too (I’m 5’10” and the lumbar support was far too low down my back when I test drove the Civic e hev)
.... far far away, in a galaxy, 2 years delayed comparing to civilized world, the galaxy called europe, "new" honda civic appear! If you continue this delay growth, civic 13 will appear in US in the same time as 12 in EU!
Isn't it wonderful to see dealerships slowly dying??? No inventory + asking thousands $$ over MSRP for the cars they do have yet no one wants.. BEAUTIFUL!
neat, but I really hate seeing cars that are offered overseas and not in the states. Tbh its kind of sickening to see how vehicles are so much different overseas then they are int he states. The vehicles are almost stripped before coming here. Our civics do NOT have rear armrest, do NOT have rear air vents and do NOT have rear USB ports, just ridiculous......
The Civic was never meant to be a model displaying avant garde styling. It was intended (even by its name) to be Honda's simple, "peoples' car." I'm glad Honda styling, both interior and exterior, has returned, somewhat, to its roots. There are other manufacturers offering trendy - and quickly obsoleted - styling to choose from.
Some cars are plug in Hybrids. Idk man I think people that buy plug in hybrids are kinda wack my guy 😂 these guys both have to plug in their car and fill it up with gas. I like Toyotas system where the hybrid doesn't plug in and you just fill it with gas like normal and the motor generates the electricity to run the electric motor and charge it. As it's charged it can discharge electricity at slow speeds or stop and go ECT in order to increase fuel milage. I don't want to have to both plug in my car and fill it up with gas. I'd rather only have to plug it in or only have to fill it up. Some people want plug in their hybrids because for example, the Prius prime is a plug in hybrid. This means it has a bigger electric battery so it can go farther and faster for longer in electric mode before going to the engine for power. So you get stellar fuel economy but it's kinda quirky and abnormal if you ask me personally. Those people would be the people who go all electric if electric cars had the range they needed. They buy Prius prime because they drive lots and so they want to save money on gas with the bigger plug in hybrid battery but they need to be able to fill up with gas and keep driving if they have to without being stuck charging for 2 hours like in a tesla. To me it's like, Yeah your Prius has a bigger battery but you have to plug it in and fill it up. That's the worst of both worlds my guy 😂 am I not right here on this one? The vehicle also costs more because bigger battery costs more. You can get a less expensive non plug in hybrid prius for less money and it's still a hybrid. Yeah it's battery might not be as big but it hauls around less battery weight, it still gets crazy fuel economy for a sedan, and you can just fill it up with gas instead of plugging it in and filling it up both 😂 let me just go fill up my car, gotta pump some gass, plug it in to charge, buy some hydrogen and then turn on the flux capacitor by filling it with vegetables before I can get to work hahahaha. I don't know enough about the prime though. For all I know it doesn't have to be plugged in and the engine will charge the battery like normal. If that was the case then I can understand it more. these systems are so complex it's hard sometimes to even know exactly what we're buying into 😂 plug In hybrid people people think I'm stupid because they know something I don't. I'm under the impression they have to charge their battery every day and then also go to the gas pump. I'm not sure if Prius prime plug in hybrid works just like the regular hybrid. If you don't have to plug it in but have the option then actually that's great if you ask me. If you can do it wall outlet that's better too. Because if gas is high and I only need to drive 5 miles each way, I can charge at home and still get to the store and back without burning fuel and then when gas cost comes down I could fill up. I just don't know enough about the plug in hybrids man, sorry. They are kinda the weird cousin I try to avoid having to learn about because I'm worried their will be some quirky design engineering that kills it for me. Like having to haul around a larger dead battery with only 121 raw Prius horsepowers
@@TheAnnoyingBoss Let me clarify, if they can use a gasoline engine to generate electricity and only use electric motors to drive the wheels, why are some manufacturers making you have to plug in to charge? You could even make the battery bigger because the engine will help it regenerate. Idk like you said, it is pointless to fill with gas and plug it in.

@@TheAnnoyingBoss Yep, the new Jazz is also more minimal -- in the case of the Civic it looks more generic, but as you say, also 'fresh' and stylish.
Panoramic roof??? Bring that to usaa wtf

And we get the only engine america doesn't get.

Rear vents!
That's one of the reasons I got rid of my Insight. It took forever to cool the rear
The Advance model has rear air con vents…

We need 52mpg here with gas being 4.50+

'Lowers the rear seat backs, but doesn't show the resultant cargo space (to show whether the cargo floor is flat - I'd guess not).
Im stuggling to find how panoramic roof looks from the inside.
Does anyone have a video of it opening/closing from the inside?
I really hope this hybrid arrives to the north American market.
thank you but why you talk with numbers? hp .fuel rate etc?

But you pay WAY less for cars than we do here in England, this model is the equivalent of 50,000 dollars here, I bet you pay a lot less than that.
Any idea comparing mpg
Hybrid’s
Civic vs Corolla
Most people who view this video wanted to see how many MPG's this thing gets and you did not provide that information...LOL
Around 60mpg on average, 70 mpg urban 50mpg motorway.
Is this available in the States?
It's similar, but not as a hybrid option.
How much is the base price of that car i just bought one now i want that one
Nice car as a whole but the Honda design has become really boring! The new Civic and the HR-V are prime examples of its uninspiring design language!

How much is this demo car?
Please come back in India🇮🇳

So if it can drive in EV without a plug in why do same cars have to plug in?

Will there be a saloon version?
No information or word on a saloon version in the UK as of yet.
Unfortunately no information about the trunk/boot space.
Same as USA spec hatchback. It’s ample…
I watched another video which said 400l
