It was an act they played between them. She would dead pan irritation and boredom with his antics, and Prima's antics would get crazier and crazier in retaliation.
They were absolutely fantastic!. So talented. U wont find talent like that anymore. They were made for each other. She had a beautiful voice and his on stage talent was the very best. Both of you RIP. .🙏
He was a thief he stole from the True Legends and Greats Like Fats Waller and Cab Calloway like yall always do and have done.stol3n from black creators then get rich and remain racist
He's havin an absolute ball. I wdv loved to have met him. He and his band are everything entertainers shd be about.....passionate, creative and lovin every minute of it. I'm a musician and appreciate all that he was about. True entertainer.....
What an incredible performance. The notes they drop in words or sounds... fall in that space between rhythm parts.... that's are open.... which define this style of song. If that makes any sense.
RIP Keely Smith.A superb act.Don't think I go a day without listening to some of there records. You got to love the underpinning rhythm 'shuffle beat' in the background, makes me want to get up and dance!
Louis Prima, keely Smith trop formidables, leurs style fabuleux, sens du rythme, humour a deux, hilarant, tempo extraordinaire, vraiment jamais nous ne retrouverons, des voix pareils.
I loved these two people. They knew how to entertain. Two of my other favorites were Sonny and Cher. Does anyone notice the resemblance besides me? Rest in peace Keely, Louie, and Sonny. Still love you Cher.
Keely was like that knockout in high school that all the boys were crazy about but could never get near. Louis was the class goofball, making faces and doing everything to get her attention. At first, she can't stand him but, little by little, he finally wins her over!
What can you say about this lil' ol' swingin' group? THE WERE THE HOTTEST - THIGHTEST AND MOSTLY GROOVIN' LITTLE BAND ANYWERE. Beside that, Louis Prima, the King of (what is it called???) entertaining! Not too forgot the charming talented KEELY SMITH!!!
No one causes a rumpus like LP. I saw a Christmas TV show rerun of sinatra and dean martin singing a medley and they were paying a huge homage to Prima with Prima's "moves" and some music/songs. The comments just didn't "get it".... the generational(s) gap was big and mis-understanding of sinatra and dean's antics as they were singing the medley..🥴 thanks for posting this video of Keely and Prima.
I do find myself coming back to this clip. I can totally see their appeal and why they were so popular in Vegas!
This was great😂 all the others who stands there stoically and this one she finally smiles and laughs and enjoys it.
It was an act they played between them. She would dead pan irritation and boredom with his antics, and Prima's antics would get crazier and crazier in retaliation.
Impossible to watch without smiling or laughing out loud! Many thanks for posting.
I heartily concur !! :-)
This is great!
They where so funny and cute together.
RIP Keely. You were a great singer and entertainer.
There's a street plaque dedicated to her in her hometown, Norfolk, VA.
William Burke where can i find it online?
she was also very beautiful for some reason people seem to forget this
They were absolutely fantastic!. So talented. U wont find talent like that anymore. They were made for each other. She had a beautiful voice and his on stage talent was the very best. Both of you RIP. .🙏
Wunderbar!!!!! 🙂
Louie Prima and Keely Smith were the best in Las Vegas. Their shows were phenomenal.
He was a thief he stole from the True Legends and Greats Like Fats Waller and Cab Calloway like yall always do and have done.stol3n from black creators then get rich and remain racist
Simply BRILLIANT. Real entertainment from HUGELY talented stars.
Keely was gorgeous!! And one of the great deadpan comedians of all time.
0:53 - I love that gesture Keely makes. These two were so hysterical and full of energy.
Best lounge act in the history of Las Vegas. Pure entertainment no longer found today.
Better even than Cliff Richard
Keely was a sweetheart😊❤

The resistance and movement and human spirit that went against the grain and put rhythm into a society without rhythm!!!
Louis Prima, além de seu exótico talento e simpatia, era uma "figuraça!!"

Keely was like that knockout in high school that all the boys were crazy about but could never get near. Louis was the class goofball, making faces and doing everything to get her attention. At first, she can't stand him but, little by little, he finally wins her over!

They had the time of their lives every night, five times a night, for years. How do you beat that?

Hilarious clip. Rare time in which Louis made Keely laugh on stage since he was the wild one and she was the straight one.
What can you say about this lil' ol' swingin' group?
