He's almost universally acknowledged as the either the best ever, or second-best ever, as a manager. And the man who people that don't think Jim is the best ever, usually see at the top of the mountain - Bobby Heenan- repeatedly categorically declared that Jim is the best.

The Hall of Fame is a joke. Much like Scott Steiner said because of the heat he had with HHH but I guess cooler heads prevailed and Rick Steiner's Bron Breaker inducted them. The Hall used to be people who were a part of the WWE in some capacity either behind the scenes or actual Superstars. Now you have the "Celebrity wing" which I think is a joke above all else. You also got people who had a 20-30 year grudge against Vince but over time, water was under the bridge by the time they were inducted. People like: Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, Verne Gange, "Superstar" Billy Graham, Bret Hart, Bruno Sammartino, Ultimate Warrior, Jeff Jarrett, Medusa and Roddy Piper. It's a shame that the Hall of Fame went from inducting actual, legitimate people who worked for Vince Sr and Vince Jr to having celebrities in the Hall of Fame.

In 2000, Storm was booked as US Champion, Cruiserweight Champion(and US Champion). He main evented shows against the World Champion(Booker T) where it was believable that he could win.
He then went to WWF/E, where he was an undercard janitor. And then, WWE encouraged fans to chant "Boring" during his matches.
I guess he preferred being a boring janitor to headlining shows as US Champion....

I was thinking about this during the Bischoff/Punk situation recently, but wrestling has to be one of the only businesses where people who haven't worked in it for decades still get taken remotely seriously when it comes to their ideas on how it should be run. It's weird.

Not everyone is a main eventer like everyone thinks they are today. Some guys knew their role, played their part, and made a good living doing it. Some even get remembered for it. He’s one of those names people remember when you think of wcw mid card.
