I had the same trouble. First I tried to do this without separating the wire from the car. Big mistake. Once I did separate the wire from the car I used a jar opener gripper and a pliers and put the gripper down around the bulb and without squeezing the bulb hard enough to break it started pulling it out. Took several tries to get it done but it worked. You can also try heating it a bit with a hairdryer.
Just in case you break the tabs on the housing like so many have done. Here is the part number to buy new ones. I searched all over to find the correct number but I couldn’t. Genuine Honda 34105-SNB-003 Housing

Maybe I have fat fingers or they’re just too slippery but these bulbs are the biggest bitch to get out
They are - I had to use pliers.
I put a little duct tape on the bulb and used that to provide enough grip to pull them out with pliers.
So disappointing to pull the trunk interior trim to change a bulb blind and come to find out it's this easy.

May be melted in there
So what do you do if it’s melted in there do you need a whole new assembly?

If you use a pliers u can brake the bulb and pull the bottom part out
I had to order a whole new assembly, luckily Honda has a parts website where you can literally order any factory part for your car.

Or use a flathead screwdriver with a bit of electrical tape on the end, if you want to be extra careful.
