I don't follow it, but seeing the reddit for skincare where someone posts a totally normal face going "help me!" and the top comments going "with what? that's what skin looks like" has oddly been a nice challenge to my thoughts about what pores are supposed to look like (e.g. be non-existent).
You say at the end that you're pretty good at making things actionable - you are BRILLIANT at making things actionable. Every video you make gives me something real and valuable that I actually do that contributes to my life. I've just paused and set up a list of vacation destinations in notion 😃
You are v kind, thank you so much for commenting - nothing makes me happier than knowing people actually *do stuff* with my content haha. I hope you have a lovely holidays and a happy new year!!
I came here to write exactly this! I followed the declutter playlist when I was renovating my house (still going) and it helped so much cause I was feeling overwhelmed with every advice being ''throw anything you haven't used the past 6 months''
Just wanted to say thank you so much for your incredible content - you're seriously the best YTer for intentional growth. I love how serious and how much integrity you have, zero fluff and all the compassion! have a great festive break you sparkle unicorn of loveliness! 💫
⭐️ love this list. #4 is so true. I joined a local run club and it has drastically improved my life in so many ways. I have such a sense of community now and it’s something I didn’t even realize that I wanted or needed. I meet up with friends during the week at a coffee shop. We run from there and then enjoy coffee together. Having friend time BEFORE work is awesome! And it makes finding accountability buddies #13 so easy!
I feel like I’ve been following these NY videos for the longest time, each year getting a little bit better. You’ve been able to condense so many teachings into easily accessible and actionable goals! Much success to you this new year!!
love your take on transparency on fillers and surgery! It's not objectively better or worse to get work done, especially when I am trying to love myself!
As someone nearing 50 with no kids, I still look really young and look after myself well. Merry Christmas t you and see you in the New Year. Cheers from Country NSW in Oz.
Being of afraid of LOOKING old has never been a fear for me honestly I remember hearing someone say “I will finally look the way I act” and that stuck with me for so long and almost can’t wait to be older and feel more comfortable and relaxed in my skin 😅
When I see plastic surgery or people getting things "done" I don't shame them or shame myself for how I look, it actually makes me feel more proud of myself that I am completely natural and it makes me love myself even more. Maybe that mindset can help someone out there as well :)
I’m not hugely old - 42 - but I may be older than your average viewers. I found that I worried about getting old in my 30’s…. Suddenly in my 40’s I’ve found a sort of acceptance. Look after yourself now though ladies… perimenopause ( from the age of about 35) is haaaard…. But it’s taught me an awful lot. Apparently women who have had more trauma, struggle the most… so start doing the work on your 20’s/30’s to help you through xx
I kind of love the accountability coach idea. I don't enjoy being or asking friends to be accountability partners, because change is hard and people inevitably mess up, and that puts you in the position of having to scold or ignore the mistake, which just feels bad to be on the receiving end or giving end. But outsourcing that to someone who cares about your goals, but isn't a friend/romantic partner seems much better.
Loved number 9 - used to have a chin-up bar on my door, each time I went through I made a chin-up (or an attempt lol) and it gave me some much strength after a while!
Omg idea 17 should have been obvious to me, I don't know why I didn't think of that! I'm immediately going to put some of the books I've been meaning to read on my bedside table. This will definitely increase how often I reach for them!
I have some thoughts on #12 but I'm not sure what they are so this is me puzzling them out! I think accountability and transparency is good; I think constantly seeing before-and-after pictures isn't. Maybe the answer is honesty/transparency about WHAT you've had done without necessarily showing the visual progression? That way we know not to take people's modified appearances at face value ("face value"... hehe) but we don't have the opportunity to compare ourselves to people's "before" pictures or visualize their exact modifications on our own faces. Hmm. It's tricky!
Although holidays and weekends away are lovely …. We need to be careful that we aren’t trying to escape our lives. Learn to love where you are and who you are. In my 20’s and 30’s I wanted to spend more time on holidays , sightseeing and weekends away. In my 40’s I’m realising that although they were nice I started to think my happiness was dependant on that. I was escaping reality.
i also want to build more community in 2024! i joined a book club late this year and it's been nice. i'm currently working on being more active online (like commenting on YT videos I watch) and participating in the Discord servers i'm a part of
When you say to only have 3-8 projects going at a time, does that include work projects? I’m a landscape architect project manager and have found that while I want to keep work out of my personal life and separate from my personal projects, the two often bleed together. In my shoes, would you erect a stronger wall between work and home? Or consider work projects in this quota as well since that’s where my brain currently gestures toward?
There are many skincare accounts that aren’t like that. They share advice and tips on ingredients and products to use. Basically they’re not all negative
It's a little too much effort for mee to do a downloadable at this time of year - buut I also just googled what to take to (the park, beach, etc) and I feel like they'd be pretty personal anyways! Sending you looove and good energy
As a beauty blogger/content creator - please don't mute, unfollow or block us all for talking about skincare or anti-aging products. Not all of us (especially not the plastic surgery ones) are trying to make you feel bad about yourself! Skincare is most importantly just a way of taking care of yourself and your skin - your skin needs it after all. If you do feel bad because certain accounts, you can obviously unfollow them but don't give up on all of us pls.
Pop psychology accounts? Surely it’s a good thing to question your own thoughts on what’s coming up for you from the content? That’s what helps you grow.
They certainly can help one grow, but she said pop psychology accounts that post “really black and white, and non-nuanced takes when it comes to psychology and relationships”. Those that are so black and white can actually be more deleterious than helpful, I have found out in personal experience.

I love your content… you are the most amazing RUclipsd Ever (and I am 41 and watch RUclips a lot)
I've missed watching these videos. There are a few nuggets in here that I'm gonna return to and try to incorporate.

Instagram can be wholesome depending on who you follow. Pinterest cannot be wholesome depending on who you follow!
You look GORGEOUS so please stop thinking about fillers and all this st**id s**t! 😢 And yes, in 20 years you also will be gorgeous! :)
Where does one hire an accountability coach? :)
Delete Instagram. Simple.
