    Eye of the beholder. This vise is a beast! If you tie big fly's on the regular, you want this.

    This video is not dooshy or whatever. I love your videos and cool as hell. Would love to sit down and tie fly's with you one day if I ever had a chance.

    The PEAK LIRS is really a brilliant vice for the bigger hooks. I'm tying on a Dyna King that can hold big hooks to. But the LIRS are still better for the job. It is not only the hook holding capacity, but the tying forces one can expose to this vice. There is the difference with the Dyna King. Something that is well engineered for a job don't have to be pretty.
    Maybe I buy one anyway.

      I will never be without a LIRS. It doesn't solve all problems with vises, but it 100% solves big hook holding issues---period.

    My Renzetti literally just broke after watching this video. Am I going to send it in to be repaired? Yes. Did I also buy a Peak to see if it’s better? Yes.

    I dont think they make them anymore, but Vosselar made the same jaws! That is the best set of jaws i have ever seen! I am pretty sure you would cut or break your hook before the vise slipped. The Peak Vise was my choice next to the Nor Vise I currently use!

    Hello, good idea, efficient and very simple in fact. The only small defect is that the shank of the hook is not in the axis of rotation. But I think that by changing the jaw, it should be possible. Bravo for this achievement. Greetings.

    Tied on a regular peak vise for couple of years and really did not like the hold. Changed for a renzetti and my God. I think I might get that big game jaw and switch it on my peak for my big hooks.

    I tie bucktail jigs for striper fishing here in NJ, and that looks like it'd be a winner for what I do (3/4-3oz w/ Mustad 3407 8/0-9/0)

    Hey Brian, I finally bought the LIRS. It works great except I can't get it to hold an SA270 8/0 or PR378 6/0 completely still. They move sideways in the vise when I try to tie on them. Any tips? I've adjusted it every which way and can't get it to work.

      Hey Sean, depends on which size of LIRS you got. Does it hold stuff as small as a #2 real well?

  • @darrenlord1533
    @darrenlord1533 Год назад

    Which size is this please, looks perfect for my tying, I generally tie on 7/0_8/0, do you have any info on the conversion head for the peak rotary?
    Great content by the way, just discovered your channel

    I have this vise and I love it! Although I’ve have had on multiple occasions it take an Ahrex 1/0 Predator hook and snap them in two. Too fine of wire I guess... But tying big streamers and spinning deer hair I don’t think it can be beat. Just my opinion...

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  4 года назад +2

      The only hooks that I have ever seen break in the LIRS.......are Ahrex. Love the shape of their hooks, but they have issues with their wire.

      @@flyfishingtheozarks I just checked out your website. I didn't see if it said, but where are you located? I'm assuming your near the white? Do you have a shop, I was thinking about coming down sometime if you hold classes at your shop.

    I have to disagree, their beauty is in their bullet proof simplicity. EVERYTHING ELSE at this level is pointless expensive fluff.

    I guess you can’t tie tube on it either? Or is there an attachment for that?

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  4 года назад +1

      No tubes either. But, in all seriousness you either have a tube vise, or have to have an attachment anyway.

    • @AdrianStruwig
      @AdrianStruwig 4 года назад

      flyfishingtheozarks I’m sure you could make something or somehow put a bend into a tube needle that would fit into that clamp.

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  4 года назад +1

      @@AdrianStruwig That would work! If you had the right gauge of the steel used for Tube Needles, and put a fake "hook bend" in it....it would work great!
