    I spent hours on this railway as a child and getting older..when the bay hotel was open in the 90s in Portishead we would use the track to walk back to Pill… great times ⚓️🦈⚓️🦈🍺🍺 and we had plenty of raves under the railway bridges!

    ne hell of a walk that. How come the track was never left, unlike clevedon to Yatton?

    Will it ever happen?to many delays and excuses makes me think it won't not in my lifetime which is so sad

    Gradient marker. Tells the loco driver the gradient of the track (ascending or descending). More relevant in the steam era when braking systems were not so developed.

      Still helps in rare weather combinations. If using these markers, the driver can decide how much earlier and how many metres sooner than normal to apply the brakes in, say, a leaves on the line situation.
