Best hope is to try and get infill electrification with the GW programme. Makes it a lot cheaper after that. More crime is caused by people driving to crime than taking the train!
What a load of sentimental bollocks. Have they thought about the increase of pollution, noise and crime ? I have lived in a town at the end of the line and burglary numbers are quite high as they target small towns as they are easy targets. I have also lived very near a railway line which was a absolute nightmare. Trains running late and then starting again at 5.30 in the morning. A bus lane is by far the sensible option.
brilliant.
Hi Jonathan! Just out of curiousity, where did you collect the statistics for population and people leaving for work from?
There is no chance of this re-opening.
It's just received news that it is being re-opened: 15/11/22! Any more uninformed opinions from THE PAST..you'd like to add?
and we still have 3 years to wait before we even see it …...

"A bus lane is by far the sensible option"? On already overcrowded roads? Yeah right!!!
