Don't let the dulcet nature of the song fool you. Linda Ronstadt is a power house. It doesn't matter what genre you pick, she will blow your socks off.
I love them all They sound amazing You have to take a listen to Emmylou Harris singing well just about anything but I love her song Till I Can Gain Control Again All of these ladies are way past top-notch way past
I love this quote from Willie Nelson. There are 2 Kinds of Men in This World. Those who have a crush on Linda Ronstadt and those who have never heard of her.
Linda Rhonstadt has a miraculous voice! I wish she would have cut loose and let everyone hear what she can do solo! I love ALL three of these women! I would really like for you to check out Linda when she was younger! She was fantastic, and still is! Dolly, of course, we all know what she can do! All three of these ladies deserve our gratitude for paving the way for women in every genre of music, especially Country!
These 3 ladies are all legends. They collaborated together on a few albums. The first Trio album from 1987 is great & showcases the lovely voices of these talented ladies. Lots of great songs such as "To Know Him Is To Love Him", "Telling Me Lies", "Those Memories Of You", "Wildflowers" etc. They did a 2nd album Trio II in 1999. It also has many hit songs such as "After The Goldrush", "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind", "Feels Like Home" etc.
Linda R is an absolute icon, no one in American music history has had so much success across so many genres of music. To this day she has the top selling non English language album in US history, and was first female to sell out stadiums when she ruled rock. Dolly says she is the best singer she has ever worked with…she’s got dozens of hit songs and influence on many
This is my absolute favourite of all their songs. 3 lovely ladies, stunning voices, beautiful song, no special effects, just pure talent! Can’t beat it.
All three of these women are amazingly versatile. Each of them can sing with incredible power, or with the delicacy of a violet in the shade. I would love to see you react to Emmy Lou Harris. I know you'll be as impressed with here as you are with Rhonstadt and Pardon.
I agree that you should react to Linda Ronstadt on her own sometime. The only trouble is figuring out where to start on such a long, varied, successful career. There are old hits like "Deperado," "Long, Long Time," "When Will I Be Loved," and "Blue Bayou" (plus more). Then there is her big band phase, consisting of three albums of standards. There is her mariachi music. There is "Somewhere Out There," with James Ingram, and her hits with Aaron Neville (like "Don't Know Much"). Then there is an album called _Hummin' to Myself_ which she did late in her career where she does 40s style music with a quartet (not as many people are familiar with this one, but it's still good).
There's always her performance on the Johnny Cash Show, before which June Carter Cash had to make Linda put on underwear so she didn't flash anyone while sitting down in her minidress. I think it was "I Never Will Marry."
That's one of my favorite Neil Young songs. They changed a few of the lyrics to make it a bit more TV friendly and kind of update it from the 70s. David Letterman was referencing their first album together from a decade prior, you should check that out. That was phenomenal work. Their voices do fit so well together. Of the three of them, Linda Ronstadt has the most power and the greatest range. But all three of them have the most beautiful voices. Linda is doing that high part and she was doing it at a really low volume which is extraordinary difficult. And Emmylou Harris is like an angel to me; her voice is just unbelievable. It's just so haunting and sweet and crystal-clear and emotional. And of course we all love Dolly. 😂 If you want to hear Linda Ronstadt show her full power and really rock out, there is a really fun huge hit that she had from the mid-70s called Back in the USA. It is a total banger! m.ruclips.net/video/ZrtMQ3N4OyI/видео.html
Britt, you really need to give Linda Ronstadt a listen. She was the Beyoncé of the '70s and 80's. Name a music genre, any genre, and she probably has a Grammy in it. She filled so many arenas that the "TicketMaster" of the time dubbed her "Female Performer of the Decade'.
If you'd like a single listen to a superb recording of Linda, listen to her studio recording of "Desperado." Absolutely stunning. And yes, Linda sang opera for a short time.
I had such a crush on a Linda Ronstadt, after I saw her on TV with the Stone Ponies in the 1960s. What a talent! I saw her live twice and then on Broadway in Pirates and of Penzance. I own most of her recordings … and her efforts within Trio were incredible. Love those harmonies! (And Britt, you have a great face!)
Linda Ronstadt was an amazing singer. You need to definitely check out The midnight special appearance by Linda Ronstadt singing, You're no good! Awesome performance. She can no longer sing because she has Parkinson's disease which I relate to because I have had young-onset Parkinson's since I was forty-two for about 12 years. Wanted to let you know you cheer me up on my bad days and make me smile every day. My daughter watches your BTS reactions with me and she is sixteen so I really appreciate that.❤😊
Definitely "You're No Good" on Midnight Special. The best example to show off the power of her vocals. Both the 1973 and 75 versions are great, but love the rawness of the 73 version with the female backup singers.
I can only echo the comments of many others in suggesting that you listen to Linda ronstadt. She describes herself as a harmony singer. She is so good that she simply wraps her voice around the voices of others and makes them sound even better. Check out 'you're no good' from the midnight special for young Linda. 'Anyone who had a heart is a more mature Linda at the height of her vocal powers. She is like Elvis, in the sense that she can sing any genre and do it with warmth and passion, and she's better live than on record. You won't regret it!!!!!
Amazing how many people don’t know about this ethereal and magical version of this song. It’s hypnotic. Like sirens singing. These are three of the greatest vocalists of a generation, and the generosity of ELH and LR to sing backup is a testament to how much they respect Dolly. They are literally all on the same wavelength here. Neil Young wrote it. But they own it.
All are stellar and always have been but the Trio is on another level. In this performance however, the combination of glass armonica and Dolly are nothing short of ethereal. If I ever see the silver spaceships flying with this sound beckoning, beam me up!
"After the Gold Rush" by Neil Young is a classic. And you should really go down the Linda Ronstadt rabbit hole. Perhaps the best, most versatile female vocalist of a generation. "Blue Bayou," "Long Long Time," "When Will I Be Loved," "You're No Good," "Just One Look," her cover of Warren Zevon's "Poor Poor Pitiful Me"...and no doubt others will add to this list.
"Desperado" is a personal favorite, "Don't Know Much" duet with Aaron Neville. Then get an idea of her range: "La Chareada", "Mabel's Song" from The Pirates of Penzance (Heck, watch the whole movie! It's great fun.) & "What's New" with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. She's simply amazing.
The glass harmonica is a spinning shaft with increasingly larger shallow glass bowls, down it's length. To play it, you dip your fingers in water and touch the rims of the bowls. The larger bowls make the deepest sounds.
Thank you sooo much for letting us know what a glass harmonica is! I think most of us were a little baffled by it's name! Good old Benjamin Franklin! He never stops amazing us! 😅
Three legends together, both albums Trio 1 & 2 are awesome, Linda Ronstadt really toned down her vocals because Dolly was singing the lead, this is my favorite Neil Young song
Cool! I’ve seen these 3 Goddesses singing together but never heard them do this Neil Young song and didn’t know anything about that glass harp! Love learning and getting turned on to something I hadn’t yet listened to. Great reaction. Thanks kid!
Hi Britt 👋. All 3 of them are legendary. Maybe you'll react to each of them individually. By the way, I fell in love with the original by Neil Young back in the day. I felt these awesome women really grabbed the feel of the song the Neil was putting out there. Maybe you could react to Neil Young and his original version too. His a legend also I used to listen to them all back in the 60s, 70s and 80s. God bless you 🙏. 🙂👍❤🙏 (PS, some big name bands and Hall of Famers became cause of Linda Ronstandt)👍
Britt, this is what magic happens when three friends get together, have fun, and put together a fantastic collaboration of voice. None of them have anything to prove to themselves or to the world. So, they can take turns being the more prominent one on a song, and the other two are very content to back the other. Peace. Harmony (literally and figuratively).
When I first heard that Emmy Lou, Dolly and Linda were going to do a album together. I didnt think it would work out. You have Emmy Lou and Linda personality which are calm, Then you have Dolly, Her personality is like its been shot out of a cannon. They worked so well together.
Hy Britt, This harmony of the 3 country stars cannot be heard in any song, in such a vocal tour de force, as in this beautiful song Dolly Parton Linda Ronstadt Emmylou Harris - The Sweetest Gift I hope you will see it that way too. That is music
The Trio released two albums. Great stuff. Linda was a heartthrob in the seventies. For something else in a similar hauntingly beautiful style check out Celtic Woman - "You Raise Me Up".
Emmy Lou has a high, twittery voice. I think Linda it handling the lower harmony. Linda can sing the phonebook!! I encourage you to dive deep with her. Blue Bayuo, Long long time, You're No Good, etc. Then! Listen to her unique great stuff. Willin', Some of Shelley's blues, Someone to lay down beside me ... the list goes on and on!
If I were one to believe in angels [please don't hit me so hard] this is the way they would all sound. Lyrics and song by Neil always has a mystical aura to take you away on the words. Lovely.
Omg! I have Trio and adore it. I didn't know there was Trio I I! Singing a Neil Young song that is one of my favorites has just made my day, my week, my year. Gorgeous!
Trio I/II/III is now available as a multi-disc pack. I keep it and play it in my car. Quite a bit of the third disc is alternate takes and extra songs from the sessions for the first two, but still good. It wasn't easy for them to record together at all, since they were in contract to different companies. But they managed.
Linda Ronstadt has the most beautiful voice on the planet, hands down! She has an amazing 40 year catalogue that crosses multiple genres. Please explore her music🌺✌️
GREAT RENDITION OF A NEIL YOUNG GEM!! THEY CHANGED A COUPLE OF THE LYRICS BUT STILL BEAUTIFULLY DONE!! "LOOK AT MOTHER NATURE ON THE RUN IN THE 1970S", WAS THE ORIGINAL LYRIC THEY REPLACE 1970S WITH TWENTIETH-CENTURY! AND, "THERE WAS A BAND PLAYING IN MY HEAD AND I FELT LIKE GETTING HIGH" WAS THE ORIGINAL LYRIC AND THE LADIES REPLACED "GETTING HIGH" WITH "I WOULD CRY" WHICH I CAN CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND!!
My mom knew Linda Ronstadt when they were kids in Tucson, though Linda is a couple years younger than mom. My uncle and Linda's brother, Pete, were friends and recorded with their separate bands at a local studio when they were teens. Linda has always been a powerhouse.
My dad was a huge country music fan. Dolly's first big break came when she replaced Miss Norma Jean on the Porter Wagner Show. Old Porter's lust for her was very apparent lol.
Hello Britt nice meeting up with you on another Dolly parton reaction. I notice you used the word magical performance. You should check out Dollys cover of . Stairway to heaven. It's truly magical.
Britt, I discovered your bright venue shining is a sea of “first time hearing” mediocre RUclips platforms. I am an 81-year-old fan, who always smiles at your appreciation of earlier, non-auto tune popular music. Reading first 10 or so comments it’s mostly about Linda Ronstatd. Rightly so. Along with Angelina Jordan she is my favorite. Powerful voice. I read one giving a listing of some of songs to listen to. May I add one and certainly will blow you away. It’s “Way Down Low”. Within the first few notes I tear up every single time I listen to it. There’s a studio version with back up vocalist but I think maybe better one is the live version her concert in Germany. Peace out Britt
What makes this performance and others like it so heartbreaking is that Linda Ronstad will never sing again due to Parkinson's disease. She was diagnosed not too long after this album came out. We lost a marvelous voice and stage presence. So lad you enjoyed it.
You need to listen to the original song by Neil Young "After The Gold Rush" from the 70's. These ladies did a very nice job on the harmony to this Neil Young classic.
I see you've reacted to a lot of Linda, but she has sung Tom Petty's "The Waiting" (is the Hardest Part), "Lose Again", and "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me." All worth hearing.
Don't let the dulcet nature of the song fool you. Linda Ronstadt is a power house. It doesn't matter what genre you pick, she will blow your socks off.
F.Y.I. Among Linda's many awards, she was awarded the National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama back in 2014.
Listen to her hit Back in the USA!
I love them all They sound amazing You have to take a listen to Emmylou Harris singing well just about anything but I love her song Till I Can Gain Control Again All of these ladies are way past top-notch way past
She has always been known for her harmonizing
That’s the amazing Linda Rondstadt up in the rafters. She had the range.
Emmylou Harris is an amazing singer and songwriter.
I love this quote from Willie Nelson. There are 2 Kinds of Men in This World. Those who have a crush on Linda Ronstadt and those who have never heard of her.
That's Emmylou Harris

The one singing the highest notes was the Amazing Linda Ronstadt. Her range AND POWER is crazy.
They have 2 full albums together. Some of the best harmonies I have ever heard in my life.
they are great!

Britt, GREAT reaction! These are three beautiful empowered women with AMAZING voices!
Live! The talent of those 3 women. Ronstadt was a giant and Emmylou Harris is a legend herself.
This.
How dare you compare Beyoncé to Linda Ronstadt.
Beyoncé sang Rock and Roll, and Country, and Mariachi? Impressive.
Beyonce'? Good grief. Linda in a class by herself. But do not short sell Emmylou or Dolly.
If you'd like a single listen to a superb recording of Linda, listen to her studio recording of "Desperado." Absolutely stunning. And yes, Linda sang opera for a short time.
The description of those voices that you want to sing you to sleep every night but can't seem to describe...is angelic.
I had such a crush on a Linda Ronstadt, after I saw her on TV with the Stone Ponies in the 1960s. What a talent! I saw her live twice and then on Broadway in Pirates and of Penzance. My wife and I heard Emmylou sing this song last summer when she opened for Mary Chapin in a concert at Wolf Trap Farm. I love that song.
Linda Ronstadt was an amazing singer. You need to definitely check out The midnight special appearance by Linda Ronstadt singing, You're no good! Awesome performance. Britt, with Easter coming. Please react to Dolly’s live performance of “He’s Alive”.
Texas Magnolia, that song by Dolly sends goosebumps all the way to my feet.!
YES!!!
You really need to hear Linda sing "Blue Bayou."
I know you like a sparkly outfit so check out Linda Ronstadt singing La Chareada live (in Spanish) ❤❤❤
That is a stunning performance!
Amazing how many people don’t know about this ethereal and magical version of this song. It’s hypnotic. Like sirens singing. Please react to Dolly Parton's "He's Alive". Perfect song for Easter!
Dolly is singing lead on this one, with Linda singing a high harmony and Emmylou on the low harmony.
Dolly & Emmy Lou were singing backup on Linda's early albums. They've been harmonizing for decades.
All are stellar and always have been but the Trio is on another level. In this performance however, the combination of glass armonica and Dolly are nothing short of ethereal. If I ever see the silver spaceships flying with this sound beckoning, beam me up!

Linda has the most awards soul ,rock,r& b opera. And Spanish.
One of greatest performances in music history!!! Fantastic ( Grammy winner)
Three great talents individually combined.
How nice for the audience. They got to see Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt!
The glass harmonica is a spinning shaft with increasingly larger shallow glass bowls, down it's length. To play it, you dip your fingers in water and touch the rims of the bowls. The larger bowls make the deepest sounds.

Song was written and recorded originally by Neil Young. Should check out some of his songs.

I love all these ladies, but Emmylou Harris (the woman on the left) is my absolute favorite. I never tire of listening to her voice.
Now to do their version of High Sierra - you won't just be blown away you'll be left speechless.
Greetings from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪, love your reactions.
Linda Ronstadt is the best singer of the 3, you should check her out.
Brit, this song was Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush"
'After the Gold Rush' by Neil Young is the song. Beautiful, surreal, poetic. Three exquisite voices beautifully blending. Sheer class.
I saw Linda Ronstadt live in 1979. She stole a piece of my heart that night.
This song was originally done by Crosby still nash and young
You can hear dolly’s part because she is singing the melody while Linda and Emmylou are singing beautiful tight harmonies
Another great reaction. I had never heard this song or a "glass harmonica". Thanks
A must journey of Linda…we will never hear her sweet voice again due to MS.
70’s mega hit! “Your No Good”
This song was written by rock legend Niel Young.
Britt, you are our girl.! I love how you appreciate all music.! The Trio did some great songs.!
When I first heard that Emmy Lou, Dolly and Linda were going to do a album together. I didnt think it would work out. You have Emmy Lou and Linda personality which are calm, Then you have Dolly, Her personality is like its been shot out of a cannon. They worked so well together.
Hy Britt,
This harmony of the 3 country stars cannot be heard in any song, in such a vocal tour de force, as in this beautiful song
Dolly Parton Linda Ronstadt Emmylou Harris - The Sweetest Gift
I hope you will see it that way too.
Linda Ronstadt all day every day! Check her out with Aaron Neville Don’t Know Much and solo with Blue Bayou. ♥️
Emmylou Harris is one of the best if not THE best harmonized of all time. She has harmonized with countless people and always brings it
If I were one to believe in angels [please don't hit me so hard] this is the way they would all sound. Lyrics and song by Neil always has a mystical aura to take you away on the words. Lovely.
Omg! I have Trio and adore it. I didn't know there was Trio I I! Singing a Neil Young song that is one of my favorites has just made my day, my week, my year. Gorgeous!

AND,
"THERE WAS A BAND PLAYING IN MY HEAD AND I FELT LIKE GETTING HIGH" WAS THE ORIGINAL LYRIC AND THE LADIES REPLACED "GETTING HIGH" WITH "I WOULD CRY" WHICH I CAN CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND!!
Incredibly beautiful ❤️🔥
There is a great video they did from their TRIO album. Call Those Memories of you . INCREDIBLE HARMONY ON THIS SONG.
Wow Britt! That was a pretty good performance with Neil Young, Emily Harris, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Benjamin Franklin!
Yesterday was Emmylou Harris's 76th birthday. Happy birthday beautiful lady.
Magical indeed
35 Grammys between the 3 of them!!!!
Hello Britt nice meeting up with you on another Dolly parton reaction. I notice you used the word magical performance. You should check out Dollys cover of . Stairway to heaven. It's truly magical.
You cannot beat this.
Britt, I discovered your bright venue shining is a sea of “first time hearing” mediocre RUclips platforms. I am an 81-year-old fan, who always smiles at your appreciation of earlier, non-auto tune popular music.
Your recognition of talent, your on-camera charm, engaging smile, big eyes and effervescent personality keep me returning to your enjoyable videos.
With your warm charisma and great looks, I suspicion you have done something in the entertainment business, other than a RUclips channel. And now (if anything) let’s see what you have to say …
It is a joy to watch you react. Might I suggest their "Sweetest Gift".
I love their angelic version of Neil Young's After the Goldrush.
Linda is the standout in this trio. She can sing anything.....ANYTHING.
Reading first 10 or so comments it’s mostly about Linda Ronstatd. Rightly so. Along with Angelina Jordan she is my favorite. Powerful voice. I read one giving a listing of some of songs to listen to. It`s very gracious of Harris and Ronstadt to give Dolly the center stage.
Kudos to Neil Young, the writer and how the Trio made it there own.
What makes this performance and others like it so heartbreaking is that Linda Ronstad will never sing again due to Parkinson's disease. She was diagnosed not too long after this album came out. We lost a marvelous voice and stage presence. So lad you enjoyed it.
Love Linda Ronstadt. She is amazing.
Yep!
Harm en eyes as I'm in tears .
You need to listen to the original song by Neil Young "After The Gold Rush" from the 70's. These ladies did a very nice job on the harmony to this Neil Young classic.
Wow, these wonderful women singing one of my favorite Neil Young songs on beloved David Letterman ❤
Incredible Supergroup.
Love these three ladies--so much talent!! Would love to see you do a reaction to Dolly Parton and Zach Williams on their hit song "There Was Jesus"...
I would love to see that as well!
Wowwww this is beautiful
Linda and Emmy Lou loved singing harmony.
I see you've reacted to a lot of Linda, but she has sung Tom Petty's "The Waiting" (is the Hardest Part), "Lose Again", and "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me." All worth hearing.
Check out Emmy Lou singing “Daddy”. OMG - you will be amazed at her voice. Love listening to you!
Perfect a cappella harmonization: Voctave's *Disney Princess Medley.* Please!
I have the the set of cds that they did. They are awesome! My favorite song is “High Sierra” 💜☮️👵🏼
Britt check out the sweetest gift by these three.
Angels ❤
Incredible! Perfection!! 😊
"There are two kinds of men. Those who are in love with Emmylou Harris, and those who haven't met her.". - Willie Nelson
