I Understand that while explaining and playing examples of scales, chord tones etc.. you're keeping yourself reeled in but I would love to see you out of your head cutting loose, throwing down from the gut - Where might I find this?

I have a mental block on learning all the notes up the fretboard, tried everything nothing helps. The Never lost almost makes it redundant as once plugged into the key it kinda doesn’t matter when you find home in all shapes. The next step for me is exactly this tutorial finding the 4 and the 5 home note in all shapes. This Blues primer is the way to stitch (yeah Stich) your way between all the shapes. Loving it, thank you for getting this lower intermediate self taught player out of a big rut.

You are an amazing teacher. This is the BEST explanation of how to solo over the 12 bar blues I've ever heard. You have just pulled the veil from my eyes and set me free! Lol thanks for the info!

Thank you Stich, I feel like you gave me the key to what’s missing in my attempts to solo correctly. Your explanation, especially the “Your house, your next door neighbor, and the neighbor down the street” really helped me see the connection. Very helpful.

Another disciple who has finally walked into the light! After wandering around your videos for kicks I finally decided to watch the blues series in order. I started creating my own charts from your lessons (just to reinforce the knowledge) and now that I made it to this lesson my mind is blown. Connecting the note intervals in the scale to the underlying chord intervals is like turning the headlights on the car at night. You can have the road map but it sure is easier to avoid running into trees with the lights on! Thanks Ian!!!!

This is very helpful, I have been playing for many years, mostly cowboy chords on an acoustic. I have tried for years to figure out how to solo using the pentatonic, but it never sounds "right". This is really the key that unlocks the castle. Thanks

I've gone through this vid probably 6 times at least and 2 things really stand out. #1 it explains why sometimes my leads sound great and other times don't, and #2 I can now FIX that problem so it sounds good repeatedly, even when I'm playing a new tune I don't know in advance. It makes me SO much more comfortable behind my guitar!!! THANK YOU!

One video makes sssoooo much sense. I've been working on blues guitar for longer than I would like to admit and this suddenly clicks. Why didn't I know this before? People say just stay in the pentatonic and you'll be fine but THIS MAKES SENSE and SOUNDS SO GOOD! I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to working through your videos. More like watching and re-watching until it sinks in and stays. So cool. Thanks.

Eureka! This answers my question perfectly. Now I know why you can stay in the zone or area of the 1 chord (here, the Aminor pentatonic) throughout a solo with a rhythm that has a 1/4/5 progression. No one has ever explained it this clearly. Thanks, Ian!

I have watched an enormous amount of blues instruction videos and I don't believe anyone has promoted the concept of the importance of hitting the I, V, IV notes with the chord changes as you have described. It seems so obvious now. You move right along in your lesson which is great---nice job.

Played 12 bar blues for a long time and everybody is just like yeah - play your a minor pentatonic - but it always sounded like garbage to me and now I know why ! This lesson coupled with your smart/generous A 12 bar blues you did in its "sister" lesson so so makes sense and as you say WORKS !
Thanks so much for deconstruction all this and allowing us to play music instead of just notes over chord changes. So refreshing and helpful.

Great video Stich!!! I realize that you play different leads throughout the lesson. However, it would help greatly if you would Tab one complete solo for us. Having a "note for note" solo would give us a great base from which to create our own alternatives. I believe that this technique would also work for many of your "mindset" videos (Thrill is Gone and Little Wing comes to mind). I would be very happy to pay for these tabs. Keep up the great work. All is much appreciated.
