  • In Mundakopanishad we find a comprehensive and relevant illustration of its central doctrines - Jiva, Jagat and Brahman. The Upanishad also profoundly explores subjects like Brahmavidya, Paraa-aparaa Vidya, Omkara Sadhana, the doctrine of Satya and the relationship between Jeeva and Ishwar.
Of the 10 principal Upanishads, Mundaka Upanishad is embedded in the Shaunaka-branch of Atharvaveda. Mundaka Upanishad consists of 3 Adhyayas and each Adhyaya is further comprised of 2 Khandas each. Thus, it is a compilation of 6 Khandas.

Your teaching is gratefully accepted by this most humble African-American woman. We don't have much here these day, but we black folk have millions capacity to learning and are again grateful. We are not ignorant nor are we stupid as so many times say of ourselves since times of slavery here in the US. (I guess some things are harder forgotten than others over time.) We are most thirsty in our intelligence for teaching. In economic crises, please understand that we are once again here in America the forgotten ones. Thanks for the teaching. As I sit here at the Edge of my personal last Night (poetically speaking), from one woman (I have an undergraduate degree in Western Philosophy in the US and now study Comparative Religion including Feminist Mythology) to another, thank you for allowing me to drink some from the vedic cup of knowledge. God bless.

Dr. Gauri Moghe ji's summarization of complicated Mundaka Upanishad is as lucid as the illustrations of the Upanishads, she has quoted. Presentation and prioritization are superb. Congratulations to Dr. Gauri ji.

    Moto of Nation
Doctrine of TRUTH has been smartly accepted. Complete sentence is partly accepted by our nation. "Nan-Rutam" has been smartly eliminated. As we can see around us that sometimes even Untruth also wins.
So when it is taken partly it becomes political statement & not our Upnishadik statement. So Listners, Please bear this thing in mind.

We always look behind and wonder as in the past are there any realised souls in present time?
When we hear from Pujya Goienkaji that never in the history there were so many enlightened souls living in today's world! Vipssana transformation is one of the techniques.

Excellent explanation in brief but each Mantra to be pronounced slowly for the listeners to understand more clearly. Since you have proficiency with all these Mantras in Upanishad, it is for you to read fast but for us to catch takes time. Finally I thank you for the best efforts.

In short, Mundaka Upanishad tries to provide an answer to Life, Universe and Everything! Great video as usual! I had done course called Justice by Michael Sandel where he professor gave a glimpse of western philosophy, morality and how that forms the basis of Justice system ... Maybe after you complete this series, the good profs at BORI should consider a course like that ... That is practical applications of all this gnaana in delivering justice in the real world ...

Salutations to you madam. It is Swamy chinmayananda in the 1950 decade started giving discourses first in Poona city. Earlier every body has to go rishicase or kasi. Now Upanishads are coming to door step because of committed people like you people. It is very difficult to understand this subject. With your commitment you have presented very well. What is it inspired you to give talk on upanishad.

All these BORI lectures should have a presentation mode. slides figures pictures etc. it is incorrect to focus the camera all the time on presenter. see the UPSC tuition videos by Dr. Divyakirti. That can be the model. You can think of other models too if any.

Highlight of all upanishad is " Brahman and Jiva Atman are one and same " . Maya separates Jiva to realize himself/ herself being Brahman.

My earlier comment got cut off half way. The Kshar level Jeeva capable of only lower consciousness levels can attain highest level of Brahm only after first attaining the 4th, Atmic level of Turiya. Only such yogis can ever try to get into the fifth, Turyaateet state wherein That yogi's Atma pierces Brahm. But why is it called upon to concentrate and aim at Brahm if Brahm is present everywhere? It has to be graced, after making all efforts to secure the divine knowledge regarding Brahm. It is then that the Brahm-yoga is conferred on that Atma.

🙏🙏🙏 respected madam it's difficult to explain indian philosophy in English and make it to understand.
because there is no profound substitute for many words of indian sanskrit in English
for example one has to use English word' knowledge' for both sanskrit word 'gyana' and 'pragyana

Oh Madam your narration went full toss and by God, as a layman, I could not understand anything. The narration was just bland and boring, there was no impact and it did not sound emphatic and it was lacking conviction by the narrator..Something was totally missing in the presentation. Surely, such high philosophy must be told boldly, emphatically and with anecdotes so as the common man would absorb some sense atleast.
