Great idea and great work!!! Just stunning!!! It may look interissting with a LED-bulb in what's simulates burning 🔥 like a candle... Thanks for sharing!!! 👍🔨
This is one of the coolest things you have ever created. I absolutely love this! Makes me wish I had a 3d printer. Yours printer seems much larger than others I have seem for home use. Great work!
Wow, you had to be darn precise every time you turned that around on the lathe. Also, loved the idea of the dust collector hose at the front of the workpiece rather than behind it. Absolutely beautiful!
I love the look of this….ball! Just don’t let anyone take it down to the bowling alley! I much prefer it without the light, then you can see all the amazing colour and grain! Clever idea!
Thats cool. It would be cool to see that with a bunch of small tree branches and leaves to give the illusion that the light was coming through the trees.
this is a really cool idea. It would be fascinating to see what it would look like if the wood slices were paper thin. I'm not sure how you could do that, but I think it would look great!
It can be done. A friend spent a year teaching in Japan and a year travelling. Part of his goal was to see old traditions, such as knife, sword and brush making. He took a video of a man turning a flower from one piece of wood. The 'stalk' must have only been about a 5mm diameter, and the petals looked almost see through. The guy was apparently about 85, so I imagine he'd probably been doing it all his life. My friend wanted to bring one back but couldn't be sure it would remain in one piece. Matt, a challenge for you?!
Another beautiful piece of work! One of the things I've noticed over the years, and really appreciate, is how even little pieces of wood are used. Nothing is wasted, or very little is. Thank you.
Idea - no clue if it would work or even be possible - Collect a bunch of natural wood shavings and such, not all sawdust but definitely a blend of particle sizes - mix them in w/ the clear coat or some clear resin, and apply to the inside while keeping it spinning enough to cause a centripetal effect - leave it spinning until it cures - might dim the light a bit, but, if you get the layer and particle density right, it should give a wonderful glow
Is it possible to take it down so close that the light is able to start showing thru the wood? I understand they would have to be very thin, but I'd imagine it would also look really cool
Beautiful piece of work. I'm loving the ultra glossy finish. Looks like glass.
Thank you!
That is absolutely gorgeous!
That's fantastic, Matt. You're a man of few words but your work speaks volumes.

The Force is strong with you.

it's so satisying to watch this and the result didn't disappoint.
Very creative. Fun to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Reminds me of a kind of millefiori piece. 🤔 Should be the globe of a hanging light.
Здравствуйте Мэтт, Вы как всегда удивляете меня, я смотрел с интересом и затаив дыхание, оооочень красиво👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I haven't watched your videos in a while. Love the 3d printing. Much better solution than old Tupperware or scraps of plastic.
Certainly prevents the leaks I used to sometimes get after trying to cobble stuff together!
Wonderful work on a successful piece of art!
Thank you very much!
Very cool, Love it!
That's awesome Matt, beautiful light!

The sound editing is one reason I love Matt Jordan's videos! That and the creativity of course.

It's a millfiori glass paper weight, but made from wood. It's wonderful. ❤
За верх планки фантазии.Очень здорово и оригинально. Браво.🌼🌼🌼
This is a cool bowl! Phil Moulthrop turned bowls like this made out of branches.
excellent idea :}
That's the best globe light I've seen. Wood is an amazing material.
Espectacular.👍
Awesome! Sort of reminds me of the Flagship Fesarius in Star Trek, the Original Series, "The Corbomite Maneuver."
This project turned out great! I was wondering why you didn’t cover it completely with disks. I love it! You’re very skilled! Thank you for sharing ✨😃
That was cool!
Thank you!
Wow, an awesome idea Matt
SPLENDID IDEA MAESTRO
Really cool idea 🙂👍

Very nice lamp.
Ah, the toaster oven, my 2nd favorite tool, after the sand blaster.
Also love the acoustics on the saw getting higher as the branch gets shorter!
Great design!
Outstanding!

Beautiful lamp
Good idea! 👏👏

Au départ, on se demande à quoi ça va ressembler, cet assemblage étrange avec tous ces bouts de bois. Et au final, le résultat est magnifique, bravo !
Thank you!!
Bravo a good idea
Bravo!
Very nice, I think it would look good hanging from a ceiling.
Sempre un gran bel lavoro👏👏👏👏👏👌👍

With turning, so much is wasted. So very much.
Wow, thank you!
Just Brilliant...
At first I thought it would be a globe, but I realized it probably wouldn’t have been thick enough for that
Very nice 👍
Thank you 👍

it might be interesting to do an experiment with shingle shaped segments of wood that direct the light upward or downward with the final product!
