I'm new to resin, my Armor Art just arrived today, I was holding my breath waiting for the results! Yay, I didn't waste my money! Thank you for doing the comparison!
I always ♥ when you do your experiments....but, as a very small time crafter, I use whatever white I can find and afford...lol..but, every time you do an experiment for us I learn something, so thank you!
Thanks, Michelle. I was about to give up on blooms. Got tired of wasting resin. I use cast and craft. I think I'll try thinner layer and see how that goes.😊❤
Thanks for this! I suspected this was the case I just don’t own all the whites to do this. As we know resin is an expensive game and if we can save money somewhere like this? It’s fabulous! Thanks again Michelle!
Oh wow, the black and white look so pretty! I was super surprised that I liked them, and they were so similar no matter the product. I have the casting craft white so I am happy that even though it is the least expensive it is still a good quality pigment. I am so new that I have not learned about temps and different thicknesses (viscosity) and have only used 2 different epoxies. I took your advice and got the Lets Resin and it's so different than what I use for furniture molds. I was brave enough to try and just finished my 1st usable mold not for furniture; what a learning experience. I did make geode knobs which was how I found your channel & group. Thank you for your tutorials and experiments, I am learning so much.
I loved the experiment! I just ordered Bloom because it seems to work with any of the designs out there. I too watched Dan and saw he used a very thin layer. What I’m wondering now is the resin. I know you use fast cure but what about the others? Time for another experiment? LOL. Maybe using the 4 most popular resins you can get here in the US. I’d kill for some of Julie’s platinum but it’s toooo expensive to ship here.
I had to look at this video again. I have been working on 3D Blooms, which is my favorite technique. My Ocean White with Let’s Resin casting and got temperature to 40 degrees celsius came out pretty. Yes I do believe a thin coat of resin is the answer. Today I got the fast cure and looking forward to trying it out. Your white paste looks like semi opaque. Is that correct? All are remarkably identical. They are beautiful with the black background. Great video.
Michelle, thank you for these comparisons! I appreciate you for sharing this info with us. So, in the past was there something that made the differences in your blooms?
I've tried three other kinds of resin at 95 degrees, and they weren't nearly as nice as this thick resin. Maybe your brand will work better? It's definitely not the white like I thought it was!
(50 grams =1 3/4 oz.) just an fyi. The purpose of the heat gun? To debubble? to warm it up? to spread it? Just curious. Also, don't forget your friend who does all black and white decor, she might want them. (They're gorgeous!) The Ocean White perhaps needed another drop or so, it seems a bit weak. Otherwise, they all did their job really well! Surprise!!! Would any resin be the same viscosity at 95 degrees or just fast cure, I'm curious on that one, like if you took your regular craft resin and warmed it like you did for these coasters, would it also be thicker viscosity like the fast cure?
Yes, that temperature is a sort of sweet spot in the curing process for resin to be able to bloom just enough. The difference would be that lower viscosity resins will usually take longer to reach the best temperature and take longer to heat even more, which gives you more work time. I don't have issues myself with Let's Resins regular resin, but it also starts heating really fast after it reaches 95. So that could be why Michelle has issues using it. It's not really conducive to making a tutorial showing hiw to do a bloom. Once it's at 95, you have to work fast. I sometimes don't even bother with the piping bag, I just mix it in a dollar tree paper cup, pinch it, and pour. From the point it reaches 95, I'm probably finished in about 5 minutes. I pour my clear and drop my colors. While they work, I mix my white, as soon as it's mixed, I'm drawing my circles. Then I draw my petals and clean up my mess. If I use JDiction, I seem to have a few more minutes before it gets hot. If you use a 2:1 or 3:2 casting resin, you should have even more time because they are much lower viscosity, not as low as deep pour, though. Deep pour is like water. I hope Michelle will try it with the new Let's Resin it's supposed to be a lower viscosity than their original resin. I'm actually surprised she does so well with the fast cure, because it's the thickest of them all. 🤔 BTW the heat gun helps them move. Apply a little heat without staying in 1 spot helps it get a little more liquid again so that the bloom can move.
@@kdscraftcorner I rather use the paper cups myself. Easier I find than a piping bag. But can see the use of the bags too if doing dots. I am not a fan of pipettes. They’re ok but prefer the cups. As for resin, I’ve several different types depending on what I’m doing 😉
Sorry for the delay! I use a heat gun to help start the blooming and get the resin warm and moving. My friend was texed a photo as soon as I unmolded them and she claimed them in a second LOL no surprise. We actually dropped some glitter with UV resin for the centers and top coated them with clear and they look amazing!! I've tried three other resins at 95 degrees and they were all fails, they didn't drop the white to the bottom they just didn't bloom nicely. I don't know what it is maybe the thicker viscosity? I'm not sure..
Honestly I was shocked! I don’t think it’s necessarily the white, I think it’s the resin. I’ve tried other brands at that same temperature with no success. But that’s just me, others have had success with resins I haven’t tried.
I’m not sure I’ve never used that brand. Give it a try with a thin layer. The worst that could happen is it doesn’t bloom so you don’t have to back coat it.
@glitznglitterbymichelle1 sorry, Duh, dumb Canadian lol. I am having problems finding both Black and White pigments, that won't cost me my monthly food allowance. I would like to know what to use to make pigment pastes on my own. I tried adding black art paint I to resin, but it would not cure.
Thank you Michelle for the comparison testing. Now we all know that the key is in how much resin is put in the mold! You are so awesome😍🤗💕💙Thank you
It definitely changed how the bloom "blooms" LOL!
Daniel does some amazing experiments. I’ve others in this genre of white also. Just depends on how it’s mixed I’ve found. ❤ this tutorial. 🥰
He’s got some great content for sure! I do learn from him as well.
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 I am blown away at his resin in soap tutorial. That is an amazing tutorial. 🥰
I would love to see a Blum in a big Black White clock that would be nice 😊please 😊😊😊
Thanks Michelle for tutorial. Turned out great. Daniel comes up with amazing ideas. I’ve always appreciated Julie’s knowledge and ideas too. ❤🤎🧡💛
Wow wow beautiful 😊
Thank you Michelle

I’m learning right there with you!! Thanks for watching 😊
LOL, most every time she does an experiment, I end up spending money -hahaha
Thank you for doing the comparison. We all learn so much. ❤
Glad it was helpful!😊
Wow, thank you
Amazing results! A great big thanks for sharing this with us.
My pleasure!😊
Thank you so much, this has been so helpful 🇬🇧🤗
So glad!
Great experiment Michelle! So helpful!! Quite the chemical scientist! I always learn so much from you! Thanks! You’re always inspiring!!!
Awww ☺️ thank you for the encouragement!
Thank you for all you do. I APPRECIATE you and hubby taking the time to show us the ins and outs of resin.
Our pleasure! We appreciate you taking time to watch ☺️
Thanks, Michelle. I was about to give up on blooms. Got tired of wasting resin. I use cast and craft. I think I'll try thinner layer and see how that goes.😊❤
Yes try again!! The brand of resin makes a big difference as well!
Thats for retesting them and adding others, good to know we can have success without spending a fortune.
Right! I basically have to use what's ever in the budget at the time..lol
No problem!! 😊
Wow, they are all so beautiful. I think the thin coated of resin. I really love them. Thank you so much Michelle.
You are so welcome😊

Thank you so much for this video! Super enlightening as the cost of these items can independently be quite expensive!
Glad it was helpful!
I like them all. They are all very pretty
I’m impressed! Thank you for testing these!

Awesome Michelle. Thank you for this video. Great comparison.. I always look forward to your videos..😊❤
Yay! Thank you!😊
WOW!!!!! Those are fantastic! Thank you for doing this. I love the black and white.
Thank you ☺️
Wowwww!!! I am amazed!!!
I really like the white with black. It shows the detail in the bloom.
It did come out pretty!! 😃
Thank for the comparison!❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you Michelle. I really appreciate the info. Blooms are my favourite resin art but also my most challenging .
You are so welcome! I do understand It’s been a learning curve for me as well till I used this fast cure!
Hi Michelle, ty for sharing. Question what that orange thing u use for the temperature? Ty . Have a crafty day 😊❤
amzn.to/3Lf02RW here’s the link 👍 it’s a heat thermometer by laser
WOW! Fascinating comparison. Thank you so much for this little demonstration!
My pleasure!
Wow! Amazing. Great information and they all look the same.
That was very interesting! Thank you for showing the comparison. I think the key to the bloom my be the temperature of the resin.
It sure helps but I tried other resin at this temperature and they wouldn’t spread to “bloom” it’s frustrating 😑
Good info video - thankyou 🎉
thank you for all the tutorials
My pleasure!
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!☺️
Nice experiment! I appreciate you trying to be fair to all. My personal opinion is that the opacity is the key, depending on what you're after.❤
I agree however I’ve tried other brand resins at the same temperature and still failed as it wouldn’t spread 🥴
That was an excellent experiment, thanks so much
Glad you liked it!😃
They all look great. Thank you for showing us.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for this!💯❤️
You bet!😊
Wow great video. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Yes just past transparent. Another video coming in a few days.
Now you can just alternate whites.
I wanna see you try a bloom with the new Let's Resin since it's supposed to be a thinner viscosity.😊❤
Ok I’ll try it! 😃
Wow I thought there would be some difference 😮
Me as well I was so surprised!
Michelle, thank you for these comparisons! I appreciate you for sharing this info with us.
So, in the past was there something that made the differences in your blooms?
I don’t know why but this fast cure is the only one I’ve ever gotten to work. I guess each resin has a code to crack.🥴
So if they all look relatively the same, it must be the inks/pastes/ etc that change the outcomes? Great experiment! Thank you

Isn't the ocean white made by let's resin
Yes it is
Yes it is a Let’s Resin product
How did you get them to be the same I have cast n graft so I am getting more resin next week .

I heard that you can use baby powder in the resin for a bloom. Have not tried that yet.
Hmm 🤔 never heard of that!
What resin did you use before you started using the fast cure?
I’ve tried soooo many resins and I couldn’t ever get it to work 😑
Can I put my bloom coasters on a heat mat? Will it affect the bloom?
Yes it will affect the bloom, you want your resin to move as long as possible.
Thank you very much!!
Not sure where you got cast craft for 5.99. Last time I ordered it from Amazon where I live it was 19.99. You find good deals
I find it at my local Hobby Lobby for about 5.99 or so also. Try that 😃
Hobby lobby - follow the link in the description. 😊
Do you think this technique would work with regular j diction resin

How do I make white and black
I’m not sure what you mean?
@glitznglitterbymichelle1 sorry, Duh, dumb Canadian lol. I am having problems finding both Black and White pigments, that won't cost me my monthly food allowance. I would like to know what to use to make pigment pastes on my own. I tried adding black art paint I to resin, but it would not cure.
Me, dumb Canadian, not you or anyone else. My poor is now in my mouth. 🤣🤣😂
How would I make my own ?
I haven’t done enough research to confidently answer yet
28g =1 oz
Ah!! Thanks 😁
Thank you ❤
