That's actually a good live rap performance. Soooooooo many rappers change their voice and start yelling and cupping the mic when they perform live but this was well done. No vocal backing tracks either, that's another thing. Good stuff.

This video is very helpful, because one wonders EXACTLY "when" Aaliyah started recording with Tim and Missy. Looks like it was February 1996, because this is around her birthday and clearly nothing had happened yet. The album got delayed because of Tim and Missy joining the project. Jermaine recorded with Aaliyah around October-November 1995, I Gotcha Back.
@@ww6942 That was already reported in a magazine printed in late November 1995, so he likely worked with her in October or November 1995. Tim and Missy probably recorded with her from February 1996 to roughly June 1996.
Dam JD and Da Brat was corny as hell bacc then🤣 how did I not see that at the time. U would think Kriss Kors would be the lame ones, but they had the swag
Yep, this was when Aaliyah was still recording her second album one in a million. She said the album was going to come out in April 1996, but it ended up coming out in August because Timbaland and Missy Elliott came to produce some more songs on top of Aaliyah signing with Atlantic Records.
@@TracyGJacksonTV Seems like they probably joined the project in February. The video and rising from the underground commercial teaser were both filmed in May 1996, so the songs had to have been mostly recorded February-April. The One I Gave My Heart To was the last full length song recorded circa June 1996, as Diane Warren had an interesting habit of copyrighting songs once recorded. She registered copyright for that song in June '96, in a similar way she did for Unbreak My Heart (Toni) and Because You Loved Me (Celine) First actual release from the album was on July 8, 1996, the music video for If Your Girl Only Knew. So that song was probably recorded a few weeks after this episode. A lot of songs by other producers (pre-Tim and Missy) on One In A Million were recorded in the second half of 1995, per a magazine interview that listed each and every producer she had worked with up to December 1, 1995. Listed were J Dibb, Jermaine Dupri, "Puffy", Rodney Jerkins, and etc. As expected, just like this clip, no mention of them and clearly the schedule unchanged still. The album almost took 1 year to make allegedly, for the reasons you explained.
Nah, Beyonce at worst would be a bored Texas housewife or Houston corporate type, pressured by Mathew. Her dad was quite rich for Houston standards. They had a late model Benz 300 E for Tina and Jaguar XJ6 for Mathew, plus etc. Big house too. Keep that in mind. Realistically, she'd have an entertainment of some sort. Maybe much later than planned, but it would eventually happen.
What song was Aaliyah talking about? She said Jermaine had a track or project working with her dropping later in 96'? Only tracks I remember her on then was the Sunset Park joint and this. Timbaland took her in 97' during that Dr. Do Little Sountrack then did 1 in a million after that. I kind of wish Aaliyah stayed with Jermaine to do at least 1 album. He had them beats!
?? Really? That's quite off. It's pretty obvious I Gotcha Back was the song they worked on (his name is credited), which was recorded circa October or November of 1995. The One In A Million album was released August 27, 1996. Timbaland recorded Are You That Somebody around early 1998, not 1997 (I get you though). Sunset Park's Are You Ready was from October 1995 sessions for this album, which also spawned A Girl Like You, plus other songs by Renee from Zhane. A lot of non-Timbaland stuff was recorded in the latter half of 1995, from originally anticipating an early 1996 release date. Once Tim and Missy joined weeks after this video, the album was pushed back 4-5 months. They worked with her from February 1996 to about May or June 1996. Aaliyah didn't do anything except record remixes in 1997 and maybe Anastasia (August 1997). Her last album was postponed so many times, that Romeo Must Die became a domineering side project (distraction) during 1999. Timbaland cut her loose in 2000, after seeing he wasn't paid ideally for his contributions, joining last minute to produce We Need A Resolution a month before filming the video.
