    Beautiful I love it never made a tutu out of fabric my granddaughter wants monster high for her birthday. she is 9 how long should I cut it.

    • @ReecieDIY
      @ReecieDIY  9 лет назад

      +Juanita Cortes To determine skirt length, I usually measure from the waist to wear I want the skirt to fall. I take that number and multiply it by 2. Then I cut the fabric and/or tulle that length.

    Hey, great tutorial. Did u use pinking shears to keep the ends from fraying?

    • @ReecieDIY
      @ReecieDIY  9 лет назад

      Oni Washington Hey! Thanks for watching. No, I did not use pinking shears, but that is a great idea, especially for more than one wear.

    This is my first time making a scrap fabric tutu and I was wondering how well the hot glue really holds the elastic together? I was thinking of sewing it together, but this is my first time doing any type of project like this. I didn't even think of hot glue and that would be so much easier for me. lol

    • @ReecieDIY
      @ReecieDIY  9 лет назад

      Tiffany Jones The hot glue holds up surprisingly well. Once you glue the ends together let it dry for a few minutes and then stretch it yourself. You will see that it stays put.

    where did u find the fabric? and is that what it is called strap fabric if i wanted to go into Joanns

    • @ReecieDIY
      @ReecieDIY  9 лет назад

      +Netta Williams If you go into JoAnn Stores they will point you into the direction of the Monster High Fabric. You will need to cut it into strips when you get home. If they don't carry this pattern anymore, you may be able to still find it online.

    I just finished my fabric tutu. However the fabric is fraying on the side. What should I do?

    • @ReecieDIY
      @ReecieDIY  9 лет назад

      +Amrie Martini Hi! The cotton fabric will fray unless you use pinking shears. :( You can save your tutu now by using Frey Check on the edges. Its tedious, but it works. :)

    how do you keep the material from fraying

    • @ReecieDIY
      @ReecieDIY  8 лет назад +1

      +Shanna Smith In this video I didn't. But you could cut the fabric with pinking shears or line the edges of the cut fabric with Frey Check to prevent fraying. Thanks for watching. :)

    do you have a way I can keep the fabric from fraying ? is it the same as with bows?

      never mind. linking shears. gotcha. so you can't hear seal ?

    • @ReecieDIY
      @ReecieDIY  8 лет назад

      +PWells23 You could use Frey Check too. But it makes for a very slow tedious process.
