My 2 year old vomited on his child seat’s belts. The padding is machine washable but the seat belts don’t come off. No matter what we did the car smelled like vomit. Not a pleasant driving experience is an understatement. Cleaned the seat belt with the vinegar and dish soap trick. Now the smell is gone! Thanks for the great advice.
Awesome video, Just cleaned mine since it's 2224hrs I won't be able to tell how clean it is until tomorrow morning. Since it's night time right now I was able to clean the seatbelt using the dome light and a mouth held flashlight lol!!! The clips are a great little secret I never thought of...Thank You!!!
im an uber driver and drive long hours after driving my shirt has a dark seatbelt stain on it. hope this will clean the belt and no longer stain my shirt
This should help. I think I have everything including a steam cleaner with an attachment for smaller work. I'll do this first thing tomorrow morning. I just had the car detailed and they really didn't do much if anything to the seat belts.
Would it work to just give the seatbelt a quick tug once you've pulled it all the way out, so that it simply locks itself at (nearly) full extension? May not even need the clip!
No you need the clip or the retaining device, because as soon as you’ve pulled the seatbelt to lock it then let the seatbelt go again, the slack would release the locking device and it would just retract back in. !!!
so does anyone know if there's some sort of fabric conditioner I should use afterwards. the seat belts worked just fine but after cleaning them and coming back the next days the rollers didn't seem to want to take the seat belt back without some assistance and the belts felt dry and stiff
I cleaned my belt today as i was getting itch from it.. i used the technic shown in the video, you wont believe the dirt came out of my belt.. Clean the belt guys
My car is parked on 3rd floor of basement parking and I live in very humid climate. If I wash them and leave them clamped in a closed car will they dry or grow mold?
I’ve seen other RUclips videos where people are soaking the belt in a bucket of soapy water. Is that bad? I would think once it’s dried, it will get all stiff if all the soap isn’t removed?
LET THEM DRY! Had to wash my passenger seat belt because my wife had a fun night and barfed all over it. Fried pickles and wine...yuck. After washing it and scrubbing it...I'd say number one thing...ALWAYS make sure you give your seat belt time to DRY before letting it spool back in place! I had a old suv someone detailed for us years ago. They washed the belts, but didn't give it time to dry and let the belts spool back in place The car became undriveable with mold spawning on the belts, dashboard and the seats. It was ruined. This time around (Barf time around), I let the belts dry for 3 days in the garage, windows down and a fan placed in the car blowing on the belt. Also hit them (lightly and in constant motion) with a heat gun every couple hours, placed a dehumidifier in the car. Also let belt/car sit in the sun in the driveway with the windows down. Then finally, I let the belt spool back in place. Might seem overkill, but was my dream car I could finally afford (10 thousand miles on it) and wanted ZERO mold! Again..make sure you let the belts dry %100! Or you will have far, far bigger issues then simply a dirty seat belt, trust me.
WTF? Who would even think of this? Are seat belts bursting into flames and killing people? If so, I haven't heard of it. In what scenario would this be of any concern? Please link to any story of someone being killed or injured by a seat belt fire. If the interior of the car is so hot that a seat belt combusts, you have bigger problems to worry about.
“Avoid rubbing in circles or rubbing up and down” as he rubs the seatbelt up and down. Great advice.
I usually pull the seatbelt all the way out and clamp, then shut the door and pressure wash it. Works amazing!
Same here. Then the belt is really fast and smooth at retracting
works perfectly!!!! ruclips.net/video/ZQI9KmseGhU/видео.html
YOU DO NOT WET CLEAN SEATBELTS! This compromises the structural integrity and removes the flame resistance.
@@jiffyclean9429 why the hell would I need flame resistance?? If seatbelts burns imma sure burn with it or already be out of the car
😂 😂 true
Thank you for advice on getting tough odor out of seat belts, especially helpful after your kiddo throws up in their carseat!
Larry is the one guy I trust with my car. Watching him on Ammonyc channel has made me into a novice detailer . I've learned so much from him. 👌

Did it work
Use fabric cleaner, brush, dilute and use all purpose cleaner if necessary. Use a steam machine if you have one.
That was awesome Larry! very helpful. I've gor an SUV to detail this week and the seat belts are ugleee!
There any solutions on how to get a black marker stain removed from a beige seat belt strape without discoloring it in white.

Can I use carpet cleaner already on hand??
Excellent video. I have all those ingredients under my sink.
The clip to lock it into place is a great tip. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for your time
Really informative and helpful thank you
You don't have any video how to clean of carpet sr
That's a nice steam machine

Mr Clean Magic Erasers folks
I going to try that
Wont clean the gunk out from inside the fibres of the belt though

I spilled coffee on my seatbelt now I’m here
Can I use all purpose ammonia cleaner for kitchen and bathroom?
hey it's larry! :D
What if the seat belt has black mold on it??
White vinegar is supposed to actually help kill mold.
Larry, how will this affect the fire retardant properties of certain manufacturers' seat belts?
In reality the seat belt is a cotton polyester material those don't burn they smolder and fray when exposed to heat.

Aghhhh - burnt alive by a seat belt with faulty fire retardation!
Don't overthink things...
awesome video!

O man, i don't have access to a steam machine
chavo del8 rent a rug doctor it’ll extract most of the water out
great video 💸
don't have a steam machine
If you can't rub in circles and you can't rub up and down what is left...llol
Sideways. Go with the grain of the fabric. Up and down is across the grain.
Yay.
Don’t forget blood spills from nose 😮😅
Oh hell, this looks like a professional job. I’d rather pay someone.
FACTZ!! 🤣🤣
😂
Hm, so that's why my seatbelt weights as much as my car.
I rather just buy a new one
Damn he's hot.
