Been locked inside in Melbourne since they cancelled the F1 and whenever i need a good hard laugh, I dont know about that 100% delivers! Thanks Forest, Kelly, Jack, Jim and everyone involved in the show! This RUclips/Pod have helped keep spirits high, entertained me, and if Melbourne doesn't die from coughing would buy you guys a beer! cheers dudes
It’s funny watching right after the Leno one, and he spoke on how he would frequently go on about how broccoli is manufactured and he doesn’t like it. 😹 There’s nothing like a nice steamed butter broccoli.
It's very possible that Ian Fleming based James Bond's exploits on Christopher Lee's wartime actions while they were in the Ministry of Ungentlemenly Warfare. Also, the banned Criterion laserdisc audio commentary for "Dr. No" heavily insinuates that John Barry actually wrote the James Bond theme and Monty Norman took the credit for it because what he did compose wasn't used. I am totally in for "Silence Isn't Now."
Jim’s actually one of my fav comedians ,I’ve watched Carlin live like 10 times and I think once Jim grows out of having hope for humanity he’s going to be at that level
The slow death trap was the product of cliff-hanger serials that routinely left our hero in mortal peril and returned for the next showing with them escaping.
Thanks for the entertainment. Just wanted to add that the spiral in the logo is the rifling in the barrel. Barrels aren't smooth pipes, the rifling makes the bullet spin which adds stability to it's flight. Greetings from Finland
Strange that they didn't mention that the book written by James The Ornythologist makes an appearance in Die Another Day, and Bond pretends to be him when meeting the girl.
@@jeffrobdine Tina Turner was a bit too over the top and annoying, but I was never a fan anyway. It sounded like a parody of a Bond song. Duran Duran was wayyy too 80's sounding, with all those tacky 80s Fairlight keyboard sounds and production values it really dated View to a Kill.. By the time we get to Adele the songs were starting to sound formulaic. Recognising that a certain style of song had been set back in the Gold Finger/Diamonds are forever days, it's as if the producers were saying 'just write a generic song that sounds like a Shirley Bassey power ballad'. Monty Norman's classic Bond theme is known by every living human and a superb piece of branding but when it comes to the orchestral themes and incidental music, nothing beats John Barry's arrangement of it, not to mention his own evocative 'You Only Live Twice' theme. Few franchises have such a brand association with it's music as James Bond. I'd have liked to hear more about it.
The best parts are always when Forest chuckles when you know he really wants to say “can you shut the fuck up for once in your life” 😂😂 but he never says it. Just chuckles. So good.
Sooo Australian “I never thought about his gun!” It’s one of the most iconic film guns of all time, and along with his car and drink one of the main things everyone thinks about when asked about Bond 😹💕
Since this podcast is an exploration of the dunning-kruger effect. Y'all should do one on the dunning-kruger effect.. if you use this send me something cool, like a signed empty bottle of liquor
The main difference between Elton John and Billy Joel is... They have different er... tastes. On an unrelated note, I love how they're honest about their d rug use, and wish other people in the public eye could be the same.
That doesn’t surprise me. I don’t know a whole lot about James Bond other than watching the films on occasion, but the time Ian Fleming would have been alive the number one hobby was birdwatching. I kid you not it was an intensely competitive and wildly popular. That’s why so many Victorian homes had massive plentiful birdbaths and identification books, notebooks to track your own. 🫶🏻👍🏻
Great impersonation of Christopher Walken. Maybe you could settle a bet, between me and my mate. On a joke that was written a long time ago. He thinks it was Robert Wagner, I think it was Christopher Walken. THE JOKE What wood doesn't float? Natalie
As someone who's catching up on these older episodes late, I have two thoughts. One is that it was a bit spooky watching this after Sean Connery has died, especially the bit where Jack said "maybe he could come back for that". (Typical Jack ;-P) And two is that Jim's Michael Caine impression is so bad that it's actually a really good Peter Cook impression.
Comment World: Jim was right about the code number 007! In Goldeneye, Bond's close friend and fellow agent (Alec Trevelyan) is known as 006, so clearly there are other agents and the code numbers refer to their number within the program. BOOMSHAKALAKA
Theory on the Goldfinger/Golend Eye/Diamonds/Birds and the watches thing. Gold is mo money. Diamonds are also expensive and worth money. A lot of wa watches have compasses on them, which goes back to magnetism, and birds flock North because of a little piece in their brain. I think 007 is also a reference to 0 7hrs, which is a military time. This makes more sense than what they were talking about
I guess I was wrong. I thought the 00 designation meant license to kill. I think I saw it in a James Bond movie. * Please correct me if I'm delusional.
At the 42:10 mark, Jim asks the important question; what do you call multiple Oprahs? ....answer is; Oprieh. ie: "I was attacked by an Opgasm(a swarm of angry Oprieh!) of Oprieh!!! Golly, am I ever embarrassed!!" And that's a fun fact to grow on!
Another awesome episode... But Wait! Did Jim say Fiancee!! When did he pop the question!? Is the lucky lady tayzie? Or has he found a new bird.. Did hank ever find out about his Thanos toy? All this and more in next week's episode (please)
Just for posterity's sake, I would like to point out that the Walther PPK is chambered in .32ACP, which i assure you, *does not* have the stopping power of a brick through a plate glass window. I mean, not even close. Even a 9mm of the era would have easily outclassed the .32ACP PPK in literally every measurable ballistic capacity. However, I *will* say that the PPK is a perfect choice for a plainclothes, undercover operative, considering thats exactly what it was designed for. The _Polizeipistole Kriminal_ was specifically built to be a lightweight, easily concealable, maneuverable holdout weapon for security, undercover police, and clandestine government work.

That series of potential James Bond actor impressions was AMAZING 1:01:00
More of Jim singing please! Let him use his musical theatre background :) Also, the impressions were golden, Michael Caine's was beautiful :)
You in love, Dylan?

This show is entertaining , funny and informative.
I’ve followed Jim for nearly 20 years and he’s never offended me... until now🤬 I FUCKING LOVE BROCCOLI 🥦🥦🥦
It’s funny watching right after the Leno one, and he spoke on how he would frequently go on about how broccoli is manufactured and he doesn’t like it. 😹

These podcasts might be my favorites of all time. Jim asking the questions us normies want to ask after 3 craft beers... Love it!
My aunt was a pimp and provided the greatest services in 1973 to the Rolling Stones, In Munich. She was a great woman. Sadly alcohol killed her.

Jefferies impressions at 1:01:00 is really like a scene out of a Robin Williams-movie - amazing!
The 2n'd Bond was Bob Holness, who played him in a South African Radio play
I'll have an E please Bob
Hahaha! The Bond impressions cracked me up!
Great episode!!! Couldn’t stop laughing!!! Loved Jim’s singing!!!
Jim’s actually one of my fav comedians ,I’ve watched Carlin live like 10 times and I think once Jim grows out of having hope for humanity he’s going to be at that level
I dont think Carlin, during his whole life, told even 1% of the lies this dude Jim has been telling. Google Avi Yemini.
Always the best podcast !!

Honestly this is the best platform for Jim
Good morning from New Zealand. Excellent series. Thanks Jim and company.
Jill St. John identifies James Bond in Diamonds are Forever by finding his Playboy Club membership card!
13:52 Oh Jim! Hahha... I actually laughed, that impression came out of nowhere haha!
I’m here for the lazenby stories lol
Holy shit... had no idea Jim was a Bond man.. this just made me love him more, you're a GOAT 🐐

Disappointed that Shirley Bassey didn't get a mention. You should have talked more about the themed songs for every Bond movie.

George lazenby stared in one bond film but slept with more Bond girls than any other bond actor. 👍 what a hero.

Jim is absolutely right about Denise Richards as Christmas and my second is Famke Janssen from Goldeneye!
Has anyone ever mentioned how Forest sounds like a grown up Beavis? 🤷🏼

Love ya Jim... i agree with that last bit in the intro lmfao
Respect for the reference to "To Serve Man"
