      That's a tad difficult to do considering that the ZF5 was an automatic...

      +Brandon Walus Haha, yeah I think he just started in too high of a gear, but he did pretty good in the end though. And I think it might have been his first time pulling, not sure though.

    do you know what those black strips across the windshield are called? I wanna get them for my powerstroke

    • @DreaminDiesel
      @DreaminDiesel  9 лет назад

      I believe they're just window tint strips. Most people call em brows or windshield brows. I like the look of the top one, but not a fan of the top and bottom together look, but to each his own. It doesn't look bad though, I think for me it'd just be annoying to look out of , more than anything else. Any good tint shop should be able to do it for you, or you could get some good tint and try to do it yourself. Not sure how hard it is to do though, never attempted to tint my own windows before.

    Does anybody know the lift and tire combo this truck has

    • @DreaminDiesel
      @DreaminDiesel  6 лет назад +1

      I know those are 35's with 16" rims. The lift is probably about a 2.5". The front has a RSK (reverse shackle kit) to be able to run super duty springs.

      Thank you for the reply ... I was asking because it's got to be one of the most beautiful set ups I've seen on here

      It's a damn good looking truck. Definitely has the classic look to it. That's how an OBS should look!

      I agree ... I'm looking to upgrade from my 94 f150 ext cab long bed into a 250 or 350 and would love to duplicate that look but with red and black two tone

    I've seen some of your pulling vids. Is this where alot of new guys go? I notice alot if them don't build boost and or stall.

      +Daniel M What this is, is the Riff Raff Diesel East Event (RRE), put on by Riff Raff Diesel every year around mid July in Newport Tennessee. This was the 6th annual event and my first year going. This was the first year they had sled pulls, so it was kind of a trial run, and the goal of it was to encourage people that had never pulled before to give it a try. And I think the weight was knocked down a bit. Of course there was still a few legit pullers there. Also I don't think they had enough people or the time to set up actual brackets, and there was a lot of rain before this, so it was difficult to get the track dry and clean enough to use. I did not pull, because I didn't and still don't trust my transmission yet. Don't need to break down 500 miles from home haha. This past year I was not able to attend, but I saw some pictures and they had a very nice, legit sled and might have even had brackets, not sure though.

      +RedDevil46088 that's actually awesome encouraging people who have never done it before but want to try. that explains alot. I'd love to go to an event like that and give my truck a try and see what she's got. thanks for the info!

      +Daniel M Yeah its a really fun event, I had a blast when I went with a few buddies. Its very family oriented too, great place for the kids and families. Its actually like a whole 3-4 day event, this was just one of the days they had. Bunch of other events going on as well. It gets bigger and bigger every year. Its mostly a Ford diesel event, but there's some other brands there too. Really hoping I can make it back in 2016, its a good time down there.Its put on and most of the info is posted through the FTE forum (Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum). That's a great place with a lot of great info, with a bunch of awesome guys that are always willing to help. I'd highly recommend joining if you've got anything Ford truck, I've been a member for a few years now.

      yea ive heard of the forum i need to get to an event like this some time. currently i have a 6.0 cclb zf6 and an 88 7.3 idi

      +Daniel M Yeah its an awesome event! Like I said hopefully I can make it back this year. Nice man! I love the 6.0 and you can't beat an ole IDI. How you like the 6.0 with the ZF6? Not that many of those around. I was thinking about getting a 6.0 for a winter truck eventually, and I really want a stick shift, but I'm not sure how the 6.0 is with the ZF6. And my definition of a winter truck is a little different than most peoples so it would still be a nice truck but just built to be heavy duty and handle the winter. And I'd like to use it for work too. I've got an 02 7.3 4R100 automatic right now, and I love that too. Its got high miles, but is still in pretty good shape and I'd like to keep it that way. It needs a little work, and I've got a lot planned for it, I'd like to make it like a new truck. But I still really want a 6.0 too, there's just something about them. Hopefully I can have both at some point.
