My first jump that I ever hit was tiny but my first major jump was a 20 foot zone to clear and I barely cleared it but I did and I landed and was so happy

As a skier, I can say that from personal experience, the fall is the gentle part, the roll hurts like hell (you can hit your own binding, ski boot, and pole, which are all mostly metal)
I once hit my head with my knee and racked my nuts with the back of my ski boot with my other leg at the same time. If you try that it’s impossible but. It’s amazing what gravity and velocity does at the wrong time in the wrong place.

And it sucks when you land in a position where your skis are all tangled and you have to spend the next five minutes figuring out how to untangle them so you can stand up!
