I remember playing both Stadium games with my older brother. I bought Red+Gold, he bought Blue+Silver and we would rotate Gyms and tournaments at the stadium. For the Elite Four we either flipped a coin to see who fought them or made team based on the best pokemon from our games.
Whenever I think of Pokemon Stadium the announcer is the first thing that comes to mind. "It's a one hit wonder!" So much enthusiasm, so much excitement. It almost feels like you're taking part in a real important event.

The battle with Koga was amazing!! Actually close if not by the DIG crit... The Fire Blast burning and the Venomoth's Double-Edge upon the Charizard switch amused me... I miss this kind of battles... Sets were difficult to predict and close matches were constant... I play the newer versions and many times I miss this...
Zayodd Marywinkle I never managed to complete the gym leader castle in stadium 2, due to the rental pokemon's poor movesets/stats, but a few years later, I finally managed to defeat the GLC, and complete Round 1.
Kinda pointless since it’s on console now and we can get the same graphical fidelity as handheld on console now. Maybe if there was a 12k 224hz arcade version, but as of now it would be sorta redundant
I enjoyed how you overcame the first battle in Giovanni's Gym against Rocket. That fire spin was a large bump in the road to your victory. Paralyzing your opponent to make it slower than your Pokemon made the difference. And I like how you kept switching your Pokemon out so fire spin can't whittle your health dangerously low. Kudos! Very good match!
I really have high hopes of this game coming out on the Wii U Virtual Consol, and it'll have the function to use download play on the 3DS to send your save data and Pokemon in Red/Blue/Yellow to the Wii U.
i still remember when a had a team from Pkmn Yellow here back when i was 5, i had a lvl100 Mewtwo, the 3 starters, pikachu and another one i forgot. what was funny was that the only one in level 100 was mewtwo while the rest were in their 50s and 60s. without being aware of that, i beat through the whole Gym Leader castle with a lvl100 Mewtwo while the other pokemon i had were not useful in any way because the game capped the lvls at 100 thanks to mewtwo lol. i still remember the Hitmonlee i got from beating it too.
I had a team in Pokémon Crystal with a Level 100 Feraligatr, Level 100 Lugia, Level 100 Raikou, Level 100 Pidgeot, Level 100 Dragonair and a Level 100 Blastoise that I got from my Pokémon Blue! I used my team of Feraligatr, Lugia and Raikou for the Battle Tower in Olivine City! I remember training my Pokémon daily in the Summer growing up so that all Pokémon could end up at Level 100!

@@deltadaddy94 sure do, and that doesn't work from a competitive standpoint, but they're fine to just mess around with. EV training is way easier to pull off in those generations to build a strong team for these games - meaning Stadium I + II - with E4, vitamins + rare candy. Gen III onwards requires grinding specific pokes over and over again to get the right stat growths on your team as they level, and that's after playing through the game with a whole other one already. Then there's IVs, Natures, held items... Too much to worry about. Also I just really hate the looks and themes of the vast majority of Pokemon after Gen 1. To each their own.
