One time at a chicken farm there were two old hens they couldn`t catch but they were closing it. So we went and lured them into traps and released them in a rural river bottom with my flock as 100% free range yard hens. They were both so happy and amazed because they`d lived inside before and had never seen grass, trees, or the sky. One would find something fascinating and call the other over to show it. They had a very clear conversation going on and were really talking a lot to each other.

Can confirm, once we had a new black chicken that absolutely throttled the reigning 'queen bee' and the sorority pretty much avoided the black chicken. We had to get rid of the black chicken too as it didnt lay no eggs either

Pigs are top 5th most intelligent animal on Earth and they're more sensitive than dogs or cats. And Chickens are one of the top 20 most intelligent animal on Earth...

Dinosaurs would have been amazingly smart animals when thry still existed.

@lizxu322 depends what you mean by "amazingly." The MOST optimistic (as in, coming from researchers who think Dinosaurs were much smarter than previously thought) studies have T-Rex being almost as smart as a baboon. That's MUCH more intelligent than most experts believe tho. The smartest Dinosaurs were likely social pack-hunting predators with long gestation and child rearing periods. I can't think of any dinosaurs thoughr to match that completely, but the duck-billed Maiasaura, a name that means ‘good mother lizard’, is one of the best-known examples of parental behaviour. They provided food for at least a period after hatching.
One thing is all but certain though- the smartest mammals are more intelligent than any dinosaur would have been. Aka, NO dinosaur was as intelligent as say, an African Elephant.

You can't be serious? Research it please. Veganism is a trap and kills more animals, insects and crop lands than meat eaters. Humans are carnivores who can tolerate some plants and fruits when necessary. We are not meant to eat plants, and especially seeds and grains, as a primary source of nourishment, as they are toxic. Why do you think most of the western world is fat and sick. I'll give you a hint: The Food Pyramid Lie.

My chickens are smarter than most dogs and on par with cats and only slightly dumber than parrots.

I wonder how much of other people's money was spent to study and report in an unnecessarily "technical" way what is easily observable and everyone already knew. 🤔

    • @real.psyched

Research reports contain much more details and findings than ever could be summarized in a short video. Sure, not all research studies have groundbreaking findings. But judging the value of research based on a short and much simplified youtube video is equally erroneous.

Yeah sorry, they are barely self aware, if at all and I should know, because I raise them for meat and eggs. An animal that craps in it's own water, or buries it's own water in dirt while scratching/forging, thus putting it's own life in danger is neither smart, nor intelligent and is definitely not aware of it's surroundings. It is alive enough to eat, drink and propagate and has a limited social structure by way of instinct to accomplish these things, most of the time under human supervision.
