- Destroy All Humans! originally came out in 2005. Its mixture of open world levels, interesting weapons and humour saw it garner quite a following and it was remade in 2020. That remake has now released for the Nintendo Switch. Is it worth getting? Well, let's find out....

No. You make a game for a new console, you have it take advantage of what that console can do.
@@garyabernethy2 Most DS games really WERE 1 screen though. The second screen was usually just made into a map or inventory.
He only says it when there’s no gyro in a shooting game.
Which is, in fact, a missed opportunity on the Switch.
What I like is how colorful it is; too many games take themselves too seriously and their color palette shows it
This also helps when playing in portable
It's a bit of a shame that we are now used to games that need "one or two patches to bring them up" as if that's expected.
It's almost like making video games isn't an exact science! Better patches than a forever bugged game. If a mega drive or snes game was bugger that was it. Forever. The convenience of a quick fix far outweighs churlish whining about having to do so.
@@symbiote1982pk Actually that's not always true. When Golden Axe came out for the Genesis there was a major bug, during the final battle with Black Adder. The entire screen became a multi-colored blizzard and almost impossible see anything. I called Sega customer service and talked to a supervisor who told me they aware of the problem and would send me a replacement. I didn't even have to return the defective cartridge as his office was already filled with defective copies. He said I could keep it or trash it. I got a new copy which was patched and worked perfectly. So at least in that case they did patch the game and made good with their customers!👍😁
@@symbiote1982pk and because of that, they used to do better testing of the games before launch, now we are the final beta testers. A modern game is much more complex to develop than the 16 bit ones, that’s a fact, but the quality control and testing time has been greatly reduced by lots of companies. If the game is launched bugged they can always patch it later… o maybe not.

Hearing the framerate is generally consistent helps me out so much! I was worried it would be as choppy as the Switch version of the SpongeBob remake that THQ put out, so it was my biggest concern. I think I might get it at full price if it's not on sale when I have a hole in my gaming schedule- I always wanted to play this as a kid and although the texture fidelity is low, it looks as good or better than a PS2 version, so I'm fine with it!
This was one of my favorite games on the PS2 and I played it to near death.
My only concern was the performance and while it is a shame it isn't fantastic it looks serviceable and worth it to me.
So yeah I'm definitely picking it up

These graphics though look good for this game on this console. I actually am getting this tomorrow. I already own it on my Series S. I got Borderlands 3 during a sale for $20 at Walmart and was dumb and forgot that I had a digital console. I plan on getting my money back and buying this.This game is $30 and I will double dip in it. I love this game and have since it was on Ps2 and I 100%ed it and the sequel. I absolutely want this on the go. I checked out this review cause I typically ignore third party games on Switch. Games like The Outer Worlds looked shockily bad and like a Ps1 game, MK11 looked horrible. The Joycons also typically suck for third party games. This game is an exception

I saw this a day early at Best Buy. I was one finger away from buying it!
For real though, I finally picked up Hellpoint, which is the 1st game I bought this year. It just recently got a physical price cut to $25. It is a game I wanted for a few years now, so I'll check it out.
I like to think Invader Zim is the one telling me what to do while playing.

I actually picked up Titan Quest and the DLCs from the E3 sale. I've been playing it nonstop! Absolutely brilliant game, though it does have a lot of issues on Switch.

I still remember playing the original game on Xbox while I was visiting my paternal grandmother up in Waupaca, along with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic II. I'm happy that 2/3 of these are now on the Nintendo Switch, so I can experience them again on the go. And I also have the PS2 versions of DAH 1 and 2 on PS4, so I can play through them properly after all these years.

I loved this series, and hopefully Destroy All Humans 2 is slated for a remake as well as I always felt it was the best entry.

When I was a kid, my dad and I watched this movie called Mars Attacks! The movie is a comedy, but the design of the aliens creeped me out so bad. About a week later, Destroy All Humans came out for PS2 but I was too scared to read anything about it in Game Informer.
Now as an adult, I think I might be past my fear of aliens…so I’ll likely pick this up on a sale haha

Use to love this game back in the day but I don't think I have the cash for this one. Love both you and Glenn's reviews but you both have given me some hidden gems that I'm spending my time on. Switch on friend and I'll probably get this on sale.

I like the look and sound of this game and always thought it'd be a solid 'B' game to play. Price is to high (especially in AUD) but it's in wishlist awaiting a sale. Thanks for the review. It pretty much confirms me expectations/hopes.

I played this on the ps2 but never beat it or played the sequels,I remember it was fun and enjoyable,an upgrade sounds good for my switch but honestly I will be waiting on a sale,

5:56 I've been playing this on Switch with the game installed on a San disk 1 tb I've noticed the texture streaming isn't bad at all on this card but on my wife's switch on her 128gb it pops in like crazy.
I preordered this since I had so much fun with the PS4 version on PS5, even more since they released a 60 FPS patch for the latter. Of course the visuals need some getting used to after the PS5 (and I keep wondering, why don’t more switch ports look like AC Black Flag? That looks absolutely fantastic at a great frame rate and has much more fidelity than a game like this),but still: it’s worth it to play this on the go! Also nice that the DLC costumes from ps4 are included in this one, a bit of a bonus incentive. I’m glad I skipped the ps2 one even though I was always very interested to pick up this better version of it on ps5 and switch 😊

Glad I got this on PS4 with a 60fps unlock for PS5 (especially for half the Switch price!), its good for a quick half an hour blast but i've not had a massive urge to finish it just yet.
Never played the original, but this looks good. Picking it up for sure
I still have the original game on my ps2 and performances were also not always at the top. It was a time we were not focused on fps value. The only question was: is the game running smoothly ?

I’m at the mission and same spot at 4:55; and idk if this is intended or if I’m softlocked, but as I was attempting to explode an EMP Mine, while under the guise of a Holobob, my controls just stopped working. I have pressed every single button and only the Home button does anything… My Holobob expired and the police started shooting at me, so I just rest the game and now I’m gonna have to redo the whole mission.. ):

This and Stubbs were classic villain comedy games. Shame both ports were a little rough, but they are older games, tends to happen without full remakes almost. Prices need to drop then they will be worth picking up.

I personally don’t plan to pick this one up, if only because I didn’t really get into the games when they first came out way back. I’ll most likely be passing on it to be honest, but it looks fans of the original might get something out of it, even if it might be worth waiting for patches or a discount first. I loved the PS4 version, lookling forward to playing the game on the go, Well since I'm in lockdown anywhere in the house.

Like it absolutely freaking kills me how goddamn stupid and entitled some of y'all are. It's always your game that you toiled to put out if that was your game that you sacrificed periods of your life to make something really cool for all the gamers (just for them to turn around and say oh it's too expensive). You would want to be well compensated for your work. It just kills me the level of greed and entitlement. It's like one you ain't got to buy the game nobody is forcing in on you. But $40 is fair for a remade old school semi open-world action-adventure title. If you don't think it's fair for all the people that are complaining about the damn price you make a fucking game you sacrifice your life to put this game out there and then have all these ungrateful entitled pieces of shit tell you they want it for a lower and lower and lower of a price. Fuck your GD opinion Switch Up, this company deserves to be paid for the work they've done.

It's great to see first party games like these come to Nintendo platforms. Back in the you either had to get the right console or not play at all

Games like these are third party. First party means it would be made in-house by the company that made the console. First party stuff on a Nintendo platform would be games like Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Pokémon, Star Fox, etc.
I didn't ever know they were porting this.
