I have some confusion on this concept: When we distinguish “rule by the mind” vs “rule by the soul” are we trying to establish which is ‘natural’ vs ‘unnatural’? In some of my notes I have it written as ‘rule by soul’ is unnatural. But this seems to contradict itself when Aristotle uses the biological justification for men being the natural rulers of a household. So am I mistaken in thinking that this division of mind vs soul rule has anything to do with natural vs unnatural?

Hmm. One could view both in the sense of metaphysical knowledge, whether it is present in the nature of these kinds of Aristotle rulership or combined as metaphysical awareness with Leibniz monads, (Divine, Spiritual, Soulful, and thing)

These distinction are helpful in discerning cultural phenomena as immediately experienced.
In the same way perhaps one could utilise Leibniz monads.
Aristotle tends to use this set of distinctions to warn his readers from assuming that all power or rule relations are the same
