    Just bought my grand fathers 70. Replaced all the gages, rebuilt carb, rebuilt sediment bowl, repairing the clutch in a few weeks, then on to rewiring the entire thing. Thankfully its a gas version.

    Some new battery cables and a good cleaning and a place to put it inside would do that tractor some good

      we would really like to put a building up but we can barely afford to put gas in the tractors, let alone build a building. But we are going to give them all a paint job in the future.

    I’ve owned my 70 for about two years and I’ve never monkeyed with the live PTO on mine.
    I didn’t know you’re not supposed to move the small lever with the engine running. Somebody told me that about three months ago, and I’m glad they did. Otherwise I would have tried to shift it while the tractor was running.
    I’m more familiar with the other style like my 1952 model A.

    You can tell whether it is the clutch throw out bearing by pushing in or releasing the clutch. Hope its that and not the transmission. Could be the alternator or water pump too.

      The clutch lever should pop over top dead center and stay engaged. If tractor is running. cool the water pump is working. The tractor should have a generator , alternators were not on cars. You should be able to engage or disengage the high low or rock shaft levers with the engine running, clutch disengaged gear shift in neutral. I started helping dad farm in 1966. His row crop tractor was a 70. In the 50's dad farmed with a model g

    What the devil is that ocean roaring sound while running? Is the throw out bearing that awful?

    • @JerryMiah
      @JerryMiah  3 года назад +1

      must be just the sound quality of the video. do you hear it when I have it hooked up to the brush cutter? that brush cutter makes a hell of racket when its engaged.

    Is that a four foot brush hog? Your killing your gas efficiency if it is.

    You know strait pipes are hard on valves!

    • @JerryMiah
      @JerryMiah  2 года назад +3

      An old wise tale. Possibly if the pipe is incredibly short or stuck down inside the pipe of the manifold. But just on top in place of the muffler, it's in no danger of harming the valves. as if.
