- You know we're on the right track when I've wrecked my truck before starting the commentary. This is Star Trucker, a game about driving your star truck in the stars. I've no idea how much longevity I'll find in this, but right now I kinda love it. In this first installment I have lots of adventures with (the absence of) gravity.

Can't help but notice that the user manual both tells AND shows you where the gravity compensator is.

The colonel read a manual? Don't be daft man, frantic switch flipping and random button mashing produces far more accurate results. Read, pft, You think this is a library or something? :)

@@captainufo4587 Yeah, there's plenty of "directing arrows", but we Humans aren't always the brightest bunch, no matter HOW smart we like to think we are. That being said, I had a bear of a time finding the Grav Comp during the demo at first Edit: spelling mistake ^-^

When I saw the title i thought here is Colonel Failure playing Star Citizen. But it would not make sense. You don’t need to fail there, game does that for you. Nice episode btw. Was missing something like that 😅. Euro truck sim doesnt hit the same. 👍
I can see the Colonel dozing off and instead of crashing into a barrier, buggering up the truck, crashing into a planet buggering up the planet...and truck.
So much in this game to have a merry misadventure. Colonel make sure to wing every doodad and flip ever whatchamacallit. For a real adventure fly without the driver assist on.

Ohhhhh yes the outros are finally back! I really like the look of this game! Truck simulator without the long drive element, so you're really only shunting around cities and towns. Looks like great fun!

Looks like a good game, and since its on all axises (up, down, left, right, roll, tilt), I am sure we are going to have a much more thrilling time watching.
Looking forward to the comment " trucks broken"... Or in this case, its more likely going to be "hull breach" or "there's a hole in me truck".

I think the point of the Suit is to... well... Not be used, by Not attempting to occupy the same space-time as other solid objects.

One of the first things I do on any PC install is disable the sticky keys hotkey. It's nice that it's on by default for those that need it, but it clearly wasn't designed with gaming in mind.
I had been hoping that there would be a Colonel series on this!

Not sure if you already encountered that off screen but flying without your gravity is gonna wreck all the components floating around, and they're pretty fragile in this game (at least they were freakishly fragile in the demo)

As I started watching this, I was reminded that your biggest complaint about train driving games is that they're on rails, and limit your freedom of choice. Trucks were better, because you got two dimensions.
This now comes with another 50% more dimensions! I anticipate at least 50% more hijinx as a result.

I wonder if it was foreshadowing, him getting the idea there and then or a mere coincident, when he talked about trucks and the axis of movement they posses and 7 or lag in one of the last ETS episodes.
I spent way too much time looking for the gravity access panel too when I played the demo of this some time ago.
It's very visible but only if you're looking at it. Given that you only face it when about to walk up the steps you never look at it.
If only the gravity compensator page of the manual clearly stated 'The system can be found under the lower stairs'. Oh, hang on...
Yup, I missed the small line of text because I was looking for a clue in the ruddy enormous graphic while endeavoring to continue the narrative.
How to Turn Sticky Keys off in Windows 11 & 10
Open Settings. ...
Go to Accessibility > Keyboard in Windows 11, or Ease of Access > Keyboard in Windows 10.
Select the toggle next to Sticky Keys (Windows 11) or Use Sticky Keys (Windows 10) to set it to off.

The Colonel damaging a customers load in a trucking sim? Never, how preposterous.
Everybody is complaining about controls. Only a few see that Its obviously made for Controllers. Very good to use with a little more modern input than a Keyboard 😉

I think the balancing in the game even on normal mode for things like the power batteries need to be reduced. Fyi you can do a custom mode tho when you start to make things how you want it. Also can use controller with the game too.

Somewhere in Windows settings your can turn them off.
Every 21st-century computer game should have a GUI that lets you remap the keys! That's a staple in current video game riles. I thought every dev on the planet knew that nowadays.🙄
To be fair to the Devs, there are only two of them and the game is on day 2 of early access. Based on the reviews so far, it's not a mistake they'll make again.

The chattiness on the radio reminded me of the lonnnnnng rants that your fellow workers went on in hardspace shipbreaker. I hope it's not some similar endpoint. Not sure how much longevity something like this will have vs ETS/ATS since part of the charm is customizing your ride, and seeing what they've actually done with real-world locations and landmarks.
Your truck has a Mezzanine! Don't get that on ETS2.
(referring to the button on the dashboard where the hover help said it was for the mezzanine lights).
"Did you equip the suit?" WITH WHAT? Am I the only person who finds this mis-use of 'equip' in games something of a grate?

Sticky keys can be turned off globally. But the fact that you have to do that on each and every PC is quite stupid.
Sticky keys are for accessibility, particularly for people who struggle or can't hold multiple keys at once. (Imagine trying to do Shift+Y if you only have one hand). It has to be on by default or people who need it might not be able to turn it on.
I think newer versions of Windows ask about it during initial set up, though.
