    You're bringing back some great memories, Luke! Back in 1993 (when 'Show Me Love' first came out), I had a residency at a HUGE 24,000 square foot club in Niagara Falls NY. We had Robin S. come in for live performance to promote SML and some of her other tracks, and I got to spend the day with her. What an amazing talent and a classy lady she is! Glad to see this great song making a resurgence! Keep on thumping, brother!

      I’ve been using the DT770 pro 250 ohm for years but recently got the DT880 pro and they are way better imo, the 770 has boosted sub while having tamed midlows so the blance feels prwtty weird to me and is in general way too V-shaped for me and has very harsh highs. The 880 has way better stereo image cause it’s half open back and is more flat and not so V-shaped as the 770.

    • @dj_paultuk7052
      @dj_paultuk7052 3 года назад

      @greedokenobi3855 3 года назад

      @@dj_paultuk7052 The fact that they’re popular for radio and podcasts doesn’t mean they’re great as mixing headphones.. The 770 is great for tracking imo but other than that I say that the 880 was a huge improvement for me, sits nicely in the middle of open back/closed back and doesn’t have the weird sub boost/midlow dip issue and isn’t as V shaped as the 770. They are very affordable and not saying they’re terrible, just think that saving up and considering other headphones is probably worth it.

    That Sonarworks plugin makes the track sound so utterly different its actually ridiculous.

    Thanks Luke great Video man :)

    • @TonyThomas10000
      @TonyThomas10000 3 года назад

      That is because it is correcting for the frequency response of the 600s. If you are not listening to 600s, then you will get a curve that sounds very strange. It is best to check out the frequency response curve of headphones to determine non-linear dips and peaks and check your mixes on an RTA.

    • @bigdaz7272
      @bigdaz7272 3 года назад

      @@TonyThomas10000 Yes i get it is correcting the response based on the Headphones you select within the Plugin Options, so if you selected the option in the plugin for a AKG set of phones and you were listening on the 600s it would sound wack.
      I guess it kind of functions the same way you can use a Microphone positioned in you listening position of your room combined with certain software to EQ correct for the characteristics of your Room+Speaker setup, only this hardwork has already been done for you in the plugin with all the Presets for the different Headphones.
      I am just really surprised at just how different the sound is with the plugin enabled on the 600s, to my Ears it almost had the effect of chopping the harsher peaky Mids and cleaning up the low end to such a degree you can clearly hear the Sub freqencies sitting behind a crisp tight Base which i could not hear before the plugin was enabled, the lowed actually sounded very muddy in comparison.
      I didn't expect this much of a difference because of the total rave reviews the 600s get for there accurate analytical flat response but without the plugin in this example they sounded anything but.

    • @TonyThomas10000
      @TonyThomas10000 3 года назад +1

      @@bigdaz7272 I would trust the manufacturer's EQ curve. I am wondering if LBL had his mastering chain EQ enabled when checking the mix in Sonarworks. There is no way it should have sounded that bad because the 600s are essentially flat from 100 to 1K and have a dip in the mids and some fluctuations in the higher frequencies.
