Nice! Quick question, do the window blinds not have to be raised for take off and landing in the USA? They do here in Europe... Would piss me off if I happened to not have a window seat and the person on that seat closed them... :D I tend to be glued to the window :D

Yes raised. I highly suggest to purchase a plane ticket early so you pick your window seat. If not, you just might get the middle seat and the person with the window seat will close the blind and either read the news paper or go to sleep during the whole trip. No bueno!
