its just a lot more usable machine imo. Its software is simpler set up and not as clunky, it doesnt rely on the idea of using the AKAI DAW which i never really liked.
11:46 sadly, that automated FX performance is lost in the “Copy Pattern To Sample” function. So the two don’t work together. Still gotta rely on good ol’ resample. The automated mutes seem to work, though their “on/off” status seems clunky. I’m happier using the real-time pad erase during pattern record, to play in drum drops etc. Favorite feature so far is the FX setting savestates.
I have a question: It seems that some people are having issues installing/locating the vst plugin version of the app - was it just seamless for you? Updating the app on the roland cloud manager produces nothing for me, unfortunately.
@@skatan4727 I just seen it I’m so glad for this updated it is well needed before I had to use resample to bounce stems out which was a pain but now I don’t need to do that anymore
Sorry, silly question here: whats the name of 3.5 speaker in the intro. For some reason are difficult to buy in my country and I cannot find in amazon.
what do you mean?? Just hold pad 13, Remain, Shift, Sub Pad, while you turn knob 1 clockwise, turn knob 2 counterclockwise and switch the machine on and off again!! It's so easy!!
These are just my favorite new features in 3.0...check out the full list here: www.roland.com/global/products/sp-404mk2/downloads/
Roland is really giving the MPC a run for their money. Though not the same, the SP does a lot for how small it is.

Super update… well explained. Now I need to memorise these new key combos.
Great video and it’s amazing times for SP lovers!
Thanks for this. Wifey just surprised me with a 404 for Father’s Day. And videos like this actually help me grasp the learning curve.
Loving the updates, it's so beast now!
Awesome video and an amazing update from Roland!

Yeah there's literally no info anywhere on that. This is the closest thing
How cool would be a Merge Pattern function
Is there any way to export audio from the plugin into the daw? Something like reverse importing lol
When you bounce pattern to sample does it bake in FX? Either the master FX or bus fx?
In this case you would bounce the pattern to a sample, then apply your fx, then resample the sample
Have they update it to where we can export stems so we can mix it in a daw? If not that’s fine there’s a way around that anyway 😮
No, but the new pad mute feature and the pattern bounce improvement makes it a lot easier
actually you can, im seeing a video by sp404vidz in my recommended right now called "full stem workflow tutorial"
