About Savage Custom Knives:
We're primarily a knife-making channel, however, we do restorations and gaming-related knives.
I've been making knives since late 2018 out of our garage. My background was cooking but mostly office working. Knifemaking has been a great journey for us from no experience and no tools to having a functioning knife shop, a growing RUclips channel, and now offering two classes on making knives from scratch.
My motto is: "We will give anything a go and if we don't know how to make something, we will learn as fast as we can."

Best video yet, best knife yet, best editing yet. Katie loved the music she said it was hypnotic. Awesome work mate. Keep them coming
Thanks Mate just trying new things out
That handle is stunning! Beautiful work.
I really like how this one turned out!
Thanks mate
I'm on like my 8th WA handle. It's so hard grinding those on my 1x30 Sander. Looks amazing. Goals for sure
That is awesome!! Really enjoying the savage back log of vids
Damn that's ridiculously BADASS!!!!
Thanks mate =D
Yeah that's come up really nice, well done mate 😎👍🏻
Thanks Jess definitely getting better at these handles

Nice blade, beautiful handle
Thanks mate =D
For the hammering part in the beginning, you could've put something big on the blade like a cement block, that would act as a masking tape for hammering. Nice job though!
Nice Work
Love the video - would love to know the purpose of setting the glue, pushing the tang in and then pulling it back out. How do you securely fit the blade back into the handle after? And when you’re boring out the hole for the tang, how precise are the measurements ?
kickazzz knife
I'll take one.
While this is really cool why am I watching this at 12 in the morning I'm so tired.
Nice, thanks for sharing. How do you get the “vasoline”?? From inside the handle cavity out after you removed it? Or do you even have to worry bout that? Thanks!
Where did you get your steel ( what kind of steel) thank you for share your knowledge
great work, but how did you clean out the petroleum jelly reside inside the handle?
Is that petroleum jelly that you used on tang to do glue up without knife sticking?
your homemade spagheti must be delicious 😛
Thanks =D
Hey man. Beautiful work. What compound do you use for buffing the handle. Also any particular buffing wheel you recommend?
Thanks :) i use jewellery buffing compounds and constatia natural finish buffing compound
Does the epoxy handle make it feel like you have less grip or about the same?
I admire your precision hand on the belt grinder. I'm curious though, why did you harden the steel before grinding? I'm not a knife maker, but I may give something like this a try!
because stainless warps really bad, the blade actually goes to bacon. the blade would be too thin.
Great work. I've never seen anyone use a vacum chamber to set resin. What type of resin is it? I would have thaught it would bubble like crazy while drawing out bubbles and go everywhere...
they still do bubble up at the sides, i've upgraded to using a pressure pot now, they're much better
@@SavageCustomCreative do you stabilize your own wood? I've been thinking about doing it but I've heard Australian wood can take weeks if not months to stabilize.
Damn what kind sharpener is that
Nice build , great end result
BUT ...... cutting horizontally on a table saw is a big mistake .. !!! Build a small sled and save yourself
Never seen somebody ht a steel like that in a gas forge. Do you think I could pull this off with AEB-L?
Aebl requires a super long soak time so I wouldn't recommend it
Amazing work. Ship to US?
Hey mate I definitely do, exchange rates are in your favour atm 😂 hit me up in facebook if you’re interested same name as the RUclips account
👨🍳
Very cool! How much does it cost for one of these?
These are about $450 AUD fully customisable, if you're interested hit me up on facebook Savage Custom Knifes business page
@@SavageCustomCreative nice price
Careful with that cross-cut on your table saw; that's a kickback waiting to happen.
Can you explain that for me this’s the first table saw I’ve ever used
@@SavageCustomCreative Here's a good summary: ruclips.net/video/8f8VWwtaudU/видео.html
In your case it would have been better to remove the fence and clamp the wood to the miter gauge.
what web site could i buy them?
Hi :) I don’t have a website atm but do have a business page on facebook, send me a message if you’re interested it’s called savage custom knives on facebook
Newbie beginner question aka the dumb here: Why didn‘t you wrap the blade in heat treating foil for heat treating? I thought „you have to“ bcs i see it everywhere else...
It's recommended too, however the stainless I'm using has a relatively low soak time so I don't bother and have never had any issue's, anything soaking more then half an hour at high temps I would foil wrap
can i get one in UK?
Sure can mate, i can custom another for you, add me to facebook and send me a message savage custom knives
Do u sell them? And do u take special orders??? What is your social media?
Hi mate I definitely do sell, and at this stage i only do custom orders, hit me up on facebook if you’re interested same name as the RUclips account
