If you weren't aware, you can pop Robin's head off and then remove the cape. It is only held in place by the head; it's not glued on. It makes sitting him in there much easier and saves the cape from warping in the long run. The cape also pops off the Batman from that Walmart 4-pack for anyone who doesn't have the cloth cape variant.
@@chrisminton516 i was just talking with Tony about doing just that! I wasn’t sure if his cape was glued on the back though, so haven’t done it. I’m glad they do more cloth capes now, I wish Marvel Legends would follow suit as well.
This is a great piece. I finally opened it up and installed the batteries, and have a Mezco Golden Age Batman to put in the cockpit. This thing is awesome. Im glad i finally have one in my collection.
@@stevenboyd3756 it really is an amazing vehicle, so glad McFarlane did this rerelease! 😊👍
I appreciate the comparison with 1989 batmobile! I didnt know this is bigger! I pre-ordered batman forever batmobile. I'm debating about this one 😅
@@heewons9942 thank you so much, it seemed fair to compare it with the ‘89 Batmobile, one iconic vehicle vs another iconic vehicle if you will! The Batman forever Batmobile looks amazing too, McFarlane looks like they put a lot of love into bringing that one to toy scale. This is a great time to be a Batman and Batmobile collector, that’s for sure!
I was hoping for the new 3rd version, they would have made the hood open to show the engine. Otherwise, it's just blue which I'm not sure I care for. Also seems like the canopy paint isn't opaque enough, for when the interior lights are on.
The 1st version was available on Amazon for years by the way.
Opening the hood to reveal that engine would have been a very sweet addition, but other than maybe some paint, McFarlane is just rereleasing the older DC Direct figures without changing the molds, so I didn't expect too many changes to it. Still, it would have been nice to have that feature. I also don't mind the lights being visible through the canopy. If not, then you would only really enjoy them when it was open and I love the aesthetic showing it closed and keeping the sleek lines of the car. Still a very cool and iconic version of the Batmobile, and great for those of us that missed the original and never picked it up when it was available.
I've been rewatching the series recently, great timing! Love the looks of the whole series. Good find, and a complete and detailed video. Keep'em coming!
Hey thank you so much! This version of the Batmobile is so iconic, it was a must buy when it was announced. Definitely glad to have it in the collection. 😊
because i watched this, i went searching for the series and found it on Amazon Prime so i started watching it again. After 30 years i don't remember anything at all lol. But i also note that Batman seems to be thrown into several life threatening times per episode and always finds a way to escape every close shave. Without breaking a sweat...
Funny as a child i didn't spot all these (or i didnt care) lol
@@SamuraiBlues5, that is so great, I’m glad we inspired you to relive the animated series, it’s so amazing and was so groundbreaking when it premiered. The voice cast throughout the series continued to be nothing short of incredible with the late Kevin Conroy cementing himself as the voice of Batman. Plus the iconic art style of Bruce Timm, it’s magic on the small screen.
You are not opening a box, you are opening my childhood
@@thinkbeforeyoupost9766 haha, it’s definitely a big part of many of our childhoods and young adulthood. As of this comment, it is still showing on Targets app for sale! 😁
Beautiful!
It sure is, such a streamlined beauty that looks fantastic out of the box!
WOW THIS IS SO COOL!!! Didnt know this existed.
I had the original release as a kid; i was already 12 or 14 i can't remember exactly. I still have it. I know you can pull out a plane from behind but as i remember it, it only sat 1.
@@SamuraiBlues5, that’s awesome, sounds like you have the old Kenner version of the BTAS Batmobile! This is a rerelease of the DC Direct version under the McFarlane banner now. It’s quite a bit larger as you can see in the video and fits both Batman and Robin.
It’s still available at Target, I’ve seen one at our local store and I believe it’s available on their app. Definitely recommend for any Batman fan especially those that love the old animated show. Cheers and thank your for your comment! 😊👍
@@ForTheToys indeed its Kenner. Kenner ol' Kenner. Every boy's fav toy maker of the 90s. How times have changed. The figures look just as the cartoons are. Batman's square face is so chiselled lol
@@SamuraiBlues5 yes, Kenner was the top dog back in the day, especially with the original Star Wars figures! They made some amazing toys up until they were no more. And yes, the DC Direct reissues from McFarlane look like they popped right out of the show!
@@SamuraiBlues5 I got it too 😁
Is this the same release as the DC Direct one? I could be wrong but i think the DC release has a better black paint job than the McFarlane one.
@@user-dk3up2nl1m, yes this is a rerelease of the original DC Direct BTAS Batmobile. McFarlane added their logo under the DC Direct one on the box and the paint is more inline with some of the animation coloring of the Batmobile. Is it better, I’d say that depends on the person. Personally I like the color of it, but the more black paint version is also amazing looking, from images I’ve seen. I missed out on that one, so I’m super happy to be able to pick this version up. It’s one of the most iconic looking Batmobiles.
Does Mattel DCUC figures fit well in this Batmobile?
@@vincentchiriaco7637 unfortunately I don’t have any of those figures, however I did test putting in one of my 6” Lightning Collection Power Rangers and he fit perfectly. I then tried a 7” Mattel wrestling figure and even when I bent the knees significantly, the canopy could not close over the figures head. So I would say it’s accurate when they say “fits most 6” action figures”. Hope that helps!
Pretty much the only Batmobile I wouldn't buy from Hot Toys or Jazzinc instead. The toy look works here.
@@shugghead8538 yes, for the price point against those other companies, this is a bargain for what you get! This is a really fun and cool Batmobile that captures the look of the animated series.
89 batmobile cockpit too small
animated series batmobile cockpit too big
I can understand these complaints, but for the cost on these, I’d say they are minimal. It would have been nice to have the ‘89 Batmobile be a two seater, but without a Vicki Vale figure, there’s not really a need. As for the BTAS, sure Robin sort of floats in the seat (even without his cape and with the seatbelt on), but Batman looks amazing in it and when the canopy is closed and the lights are on, it’s just a beautiful thing.
Where can I buy Batman ?
@@BETSelas he is available at Target, check the Collectibles section by Electronics. The first series version might still be showing up in some stores, this is the 2nd series Blind as a Bat version which is part of the Lock-Up BAF wave. Good luck and happy toy hunting! 👍
@@ForTheToys thanks
You sound like trevor moore. Great video otherwise
Wow he really does. I dig it!
That is hilarious, I'm a bit flattered by this comment, Trever Moore was super funny! We're both fans of TWKYK.
