My dad is 73 years old born and raised in Makena on the southside of Maui he watched the entire development of Kihei from when he was a kid, his grandma always use to say that all of Kihei like the area they built Kihei in was all one giant wetland and to her it never made sense why you would build a town in a pond. Everytime Kihei floods my dad tell me about how stupid the developers of Kihei were and are lol
