Bravissimo brother, truly. There's very few accurate Alice In Chains transcriptions I've found. So I watched your video to learn it & now my band performs it flawlessly. Thanks so much for the lesson bro, lol, but mostly thanks for doing such a great job & putting this out so that the newest generations can hear it. If you get out Oklahoma City way, holler bro. God bless and take care.
You should sign up for the voice man you'd blow them away with this song. I haven't seen any Alice In Chains songs on there. That would be cool though.
Hey, Sarah. Thanks for the message. I will have to take a look at the music for the song and get back to you. The song is mainly based around Em, Dmaj and Cadd9. Do you know much about those chords?
Ok, first of all. I'm fucking blown away, very well thought out. Second of all you are Jerry and Layne combined into one. Third, how do you do the part at 3:50 ? I wanna learn that and I'm having trouble with it...
Hey, Damjan. Thanks for checking out the cover and commenting. I appreciate it a great deal. So the part you are talking about is mostly natural harmonics on the seventh fret. I am not 100 percent certain this is exactly what Jerry does, but it is what I came up with. To me, it sounds like Jerry does harmonics in pairs but he skips strings and moves down the strings; so think G/high E, D/B, A/G, low E/D (all on the seventh fret). Then, for the last two harmonics, I think he hits the fifth fret of the low E and the seventh fret of the A. Try that out and see what it sounds like. Keep practicing, my friend!
If you tuned your low E down to D, you could've played the first part of that riff an octave lower on the E and A string, instead of playing it on the D and G string. Other than that....damn, not only to you LOOK like Layne Staley, but you SOUND like him too. Although I'm really starting to like your guitar arrangement
Hey, K.P. I have the guitar book from Jar Of Flies/Sap. There are probably other accurate 'tabs' out there, though, if you don't want to buy the book. In my opinion, it was worth buying- both Jar Of Flies and Sap in one book! Can't go wrong. Thanks for checking out the video \m/
I learned the tabs from the Jar of Flies guitar book. I can scan the tabs/music and email it to you if that works for you? Let me know. Thanks for checking out the video. 🤘
That would be nice bro thanks, i do wonder if you used the song book did you mixed the bass intro part and lead part together? or it was already mixed? and great cover btw
Hey, Payton. No, I am not in Drop D. The guitar is just dropped down a half step from standard tuning (Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb). Alice uses that tuning on a bunch of songs.
wish they had this on their unplugged.
Me, too. I Stay Away would have been amazing as well.
ripmusic0112 excellent. what chords are those in the chorus? is that a cadd 9 with high E open and an Emajor?
cicada acoustic nerd. They should make an easy way to write chords for knowledge hahaha i mean like numbers or urban slangs XD
Hey, cicada acoustic nerd. Thank you for checking out the cover. My bad on the late response. The chords are Cadd9 with high E open and Eminor.
Along with Don't Follow
You look like Layne Staley

Thanks, German. I appreciate that you watched the video. Keep rocking, my friend!
