California rockers Rival Sons recently performed at the Clyde Theatre in Fort Wayne just down the road from Sweetwater HQ. Drummer Mike Miley was kind enough to give us a tour of his rig. Miley shows off his reissue of Pearl‘s 1966 President series shells, then talks about his preference for aluminum snares and his relationship with Pearl. Mike is a true aficionado with an encyclopedic knowledge of drum history and famous players‘ gear. Why did he just switch from Gretsch drums and DW Hardware to Pearl drums and hardware?
One of my favorite drummers. No frills... just knows how to lay down a good groove. His drums sounds on the records are amazing, especially the kicks. Rival Sons will kick your ass and wanting more.
