Our beautiful Porto Alegre has been devastated by a flood. A lot of places showed in this video are now underwater, like Mercado Público and Garcias 😢 it’s a bittersweet feeling seeing things the way it was before the flood. Our hearts and prayers are with the gauchos to get our cities back to normal.
Brazil is rich in landscapes, culture and history that few people in the world know. Several countries within the same territory. But with the same Brazilian spirit. Brazilians preach love and freedom. The best of Brazil are the Brazilians
Oh yes, I loved it and I like Brazil. I've visited it twice but still need to see and experience much more. The Brazilians 😍. We stayed with a Brazilian family, which was special in Rio.
You guys, I've been living in the US for 30 years, and seeing you guys explore my city of Porto Alegre brought tears to my eyes. I hope you enjoyed my birthplace and hope you were treated well. Thank you for all of your videos showing how diverse and immense Brazil is. I'm a fan of both of you. Keep up the good work 👍
I feel honored that you are visiting my state. Hope you like it! If you were in Gramado/Canela (or another cities of Serra Gaúcha region) in winter, you would get temperatures below zero, with a chance of snow. This isn't something new for North Americans, but I think most people don't expect to see this in Brasil. But it can be hot too, our summers are very hot, as in the rest of Brasil (as our climate is temperate, we have everything throughout the year). Good stay, enjoy!
My city was severed affected by flood and to see how beautiful it used to be brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for being here and to show how amazing my city is. Be always welcome and invited to come back.
Nothing compares to the gaucho barbecue. It's impossible to be unhappy while eating barbecue. I humbly recommend that you go to Canela and Gramado, two tourist cities that are very popular in winter.
I don’t eat meat anymore, but OMG when I did, the churrascos were awesome! We didn’t get to Porto, went to Parana state, Foz do Iguazu, and Argentina. Wonderful video!
Porto Alegre is by far my favorite area of Brazil. Just got back from doing a week there for work. Now back in the states but the tech industry there, I really enjoyed.
You must be so relieved to be in a cooler place. I couldn’t handle the heat - I almost melted watching your last few cities. 🥵 Love the Gaucho clips! I did a fourth grade school report on the Gauchos of Argentina - great memories pouring over the Encyclopedia Brittanica for hours & hours! Yummiest BBQ, 😋, Rondel cracked me up “keeping it respectable!” The way you bit into that slow-roasted piece of meat - I’m so hungry now. 😳 The walk after was lovely - interesting about insulin levels - I need to start walking after meals. Apryl is looking glow-y from “chasing the Brazilian summer” (I’d be burnt to a crisp) and very pretty in braids. 🙌🏾 I’m enjoying Brazil through you two - thank you for the adventure - cause I’ll probably never go. 🤷🏼♀️
Yes, we were very happy to make it to a cooler destination and we're glad you're traveling w/ us! The south is a cooler climate during the winter months and a more reserved laid back people. It's been interesting witnessing the change in temperaments and temperatures.
I loved this video. A curiosity about the mercado publico, at its center there is an amulet placed on the ground by one of of the workers who build this building. He had African ancestors, and the amulet is linked to african religions that still exist and are practiced today in Rio Grande do Sul. Some times you can see people dropping some coins near the amulet, it brings you good luck 😊 The buggest difference between a cowboy and a gaucho is the indigenous heritage of gauchos.
Guys, you MUST visit Ouro Preto (black gold) city in Minas Gerais state. it was the largest city in the Americas in the 17th century with 200k people. today it is the same with dozens of barroque churchs literally covered in gold
Yes, very rich history...entire city built by the blood of black and indigenous people. I think the streams were full of gold... We wanted to come and tell the story of Chico Rei. Maybe next time around.

You have to drink chimarrão tea, the gaucho beverage from the guarani people. And eat a "X coração", our very only take on cheeseburguer with chicken hearts instead of ground beef. If you dig properly you going to find out a strong african community struglling to keep their roots alive. Seek the Batucada, a variant of Candomble. Visit aparados da serra, our grand cannyon.
Excellent video! You were accurate in your comment at the end of the video about the coldness of Porto Alegre residents. That's right! It's the first time I've seen someone comment, because it's impossible not to notice. But no one talks about it, as it looks nothing like the rest of Brazil. But it has always been like this with those who come from outside and among residents who do not know each other... You are a good psychologist. I live here in Porto Alegre my whole life

Hope you guys felt welcomed in my home city of Porto Alegre. I currently reside in NYC and I feel very welcomed by the people here in the US wherever I go. I feel that people in Porto Alegre are not that open for occasional chats and are more introverted. Enjoy Brazil🎉
Thanks for the share, I agree you do not need more ssace when you are just there for a short while. Dare I say April has this "happy girl" inner smile? Really enjoyed the video like always. Yea, that airbnb was just enough. That fire roasted bbq is the best - hands down. It's called Churrasco and we're already on the hunt for the next one. Thanks for watching, Rika, and thanks for your comments!

I used to go to a Brazilian steakhouse in Chicago called Fogo de Chao; about $60 per person. And I'm sure their meat is sourced a LOT healthier. Love the old footage of the gauchos! Brazil is HUGE! I hope you guys have Uruguay on your itinerary?

Hello friends welcome to rio grande do sul and thank you for being with us, before you leave try "Quentao and Pinhão", we are coming to the June festival. Hope you guys felt welcomed in my home city of Porto Alegre. I currently reside in NYC and I feel very welcomed by the people here in the US wherever I go. I feel that people in Porto Alegre are not that open for occasional chats and are more introverted. Enjoy Brazil🎉
USA has a warm tip, which is Florida, and Florida has Miami
Brazil has a cold tip, which is Rio Grande do Sul, and RS has Porto Alegre.
Thanks for the share, I agree you do not need more ssace when you are just there for
a short while. Dare I say April has this "happy girl" inner smile?
Really enjoyed the video like always.
Yes I see myself enjoying the Berbercue(what do they call it there)Roast beer roasted directly in open fire, is like nothign else, I do say you have to try it to know how good it is.
thanks for the share guys
Yea, that airbnb was just enough. That fire roasted bbq is the best - hands down. It's called Churrasco and we're already on the hunt for the next one. Thanks for watching, Rika, and thanks for your comments!
Come to Minas Gerais, it's a beautiful state too. Minas has a other culture and a wonderful food.
Thank you fort he tips in Porto Alegre. I've been there long time ago. Must come back. The Maria Quintana Cultural space seems amazing. If you guys still around don't forget to tray the Queijo da Colonia and strawberry jam at Mercado Municipal. It is delicious! 👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🇧🇷👍
Okay thanks!
its crazy to think that you 2 have visited more brazilian states than I, whos a native 😭
Lol, we're just making our way around. Thanks for tuning in!
All I know is I hurt myself in that churrascaria OMG! We are planning on going to Uruguay buy our flights out are astronomical right now.... we're working in it and will keep you posted!
Are you going to try the yerba mate in Brazil (In Brazil they call it 'chimarrão'). Warning: it's great stuff.
Everyone is always drinking it. We have to give it a try!
@@TheYarbros Warning!!! It's great stuff. Warning!! It's legal too.
Is very healthy too! I'm from Rio Grande do Sul
realmente uma cidade muito bonita
We thought so!
Come to Curitiba and Blumenau ❤
If we can we will!
great video
Thanks! Abragado!
Hello friends welcome to rio grande do sul and thank you for being with us, before you leave try "Quentao and Pinhão", we are coming to the June festival. If you see some noisy birds in the fields, feel blessed, they are the birds that greet visitors and if you see caramel-colored dogs in the streets, you may not know it, but you will be in front of Brazil's greatest heritage, the beloved caramel dog. and don't forget to try the chimarao and guarana. Feel hugged with affection and welcome again.🧉
Thank you!
Meu país é lindo
Sim, muito!
