Have to be careful when the new growth comes after pruning that the possums don't eat the new leaves. Netting can help.

I have the same issue, but I never see any bugs. Do they just dine 'n' dash?
Regarding sprays, what about home-made 'White oil' (dishwashing liquid + vegetable oil + water)? Will that be effective?
