      @Revviews  3 года назад +1

      Hi Paul,
      Will depend I what you want to use for a bit. It handles far better than I had initially thought but of course very different to a sports bike. The Duke GT will definitely have the more sportier ride but the trade off will be the Adventure S will be ahead for Touring. Both are great choices. If local to Crawley contact P&H and I believe they have both to try. Could do a back to back test? Hope that helps.

    • @Revviews

      Hello mate. Brakes are linked although you can adjust the settings and turn off the rear ABS and adjust slippage for off road. As far as I know you need the rails for panniers, two options/versions you can choose from on the bike builder for luggage. Hope that helps. Cheers 🍻

      Hello mate. On my ride yes when I changed the modes in the walk n talk section of this video I left it in the rain position when cycling through, powered off and when I restarted the bike the settings were as I left them and I actually put it back into Sport on the video before riding off again. Not sure if it has a long term memory though being honest. If you have a dealer near you take one of these out, such good fun. Cheers 🍻

    • @Revviews
      @Revviews  3 года назад +1

      Haha thank you Roy, appreciate that mate. Yeah honestly it's a tough one, I really am thinking of getting the KTM. Here's what I believe to be the truth, the XR probably has the edge on handling, but mainly at track type level. However you also need to be in that perfect range to get the most out of it. Whereas the KTM has superhero power from 3k rpm that will make you grin stupidly each time. The XR is more of a sportsbike for taller people and the KTM is a good middle ground between sporty and tourer without feeling too heavy. KTM wins by miles on comfort though, mainly due to the XRs seat. I have a feeling you might enjoy the KTM more overall. Have you got both dealers types near you? Cheers 🍻

      @@Revviews Oh sure, I enjoyed your review a lot. I own the previous model of the bike, and have already ordered the new one. There is one thing I would have added (but that's personal and maybe nobody would agree on that): despite its branding, the S Adv S should be considered in a broader realm than just the adventure range of bikes. Three years ago, I couldn't make my mind between the SAS and the Superduke R, and I went through the same hesitation this year, but ended up picking the SAS. Again. Because I know the fun it can give to me on ANY road, and also the sheer efficiency of the thing. For me, it is an incredible Sport Tourer, with the a strong point to be made on both these items. Incredibly good at sports, incredibly good at touring. The only downside could be the weight (and the wearing of the front tyre in my case), but it's the lighter in its category, and even on the 'old' one, weight was never an issue. My overall feeling could be compared to the one of the excellent MotoVibes YT channel: the guy gives his impressions oif the exact same bike, and I fully agree with him. And all of this sports and touring goodness comes with the added benefit of a long travel suspension: you don't even need to think about what the road is going to look like after the next corner, you can/could trash it around if you felt like), you can climb curbs like if they were nothing, and of course you can continue when roads turn into trails. Incredible bike. I'm quite thrilled that they have improved the fueling, and solved (it seems) the heat problem: I live in France and sometimes, it could be an issue in the traffic (my current model is a '17, with no insulating on the rear header). So yes, it is a Sport Tourer. And it could also be seen as the best 'Adventure' bikes, depending on your personal taste. As you pointed out, this is also a matter of personal preference, and I totally get that people would rather pick the GS because they like the overall feeling of the bike, the shaft transmission and so on. That makes sense. Cheers.

    • @Revviews
      @Revviews  3 года назад

      @@fabiena1787 Hi Fabien, yep completely agree with you. In fact most bikes today are suitable for a variety of roads. Just for ease I have to at least say the class it's in as that's what people type when they search so it's about how the video gets found. Otherwise the YT black hole swallows up the video lol. But I found this bike to amazing overall. I can say what it's like offroad but it could definitely replace my S1000XR and it was massively more comfortable, for me at least. And the engine of the KTM was just so easy to use, I'm mean a real pleasure compared with hopping through gears all the time just to get moving again like on my bike.
      The channel is still very new and I'm working hard to keep improving all the time. It's a tough world out there on social media and you can't please everyone even if you don't make any mistakes as someone will still not be impressed or take offence but I'm pleased you liked this mate and hope to keep making videos you enjoy. I'll keep working hard too.

    Nice review, thanks. How do you find the comfort compared to a GS/GSA? I test rode the GSA last week and found the riding/handlebar position gave me shocking neck and shoulder pain. I’m not 100% sure but I think part of it is reach to the bars and part of it is bar width, I have no such issues on my Harley Road King. I’m 6’4” with broad shoulders, how big are you in comparison?

    • @Revviews
      @Revviews  3 года назад +2

      Hello mate. Thank you friend. I'm 6ft4 also. Hard to say really. Very close but maybe the GSA on comfort for me, but only slightly but the SAS was the sportier bike by some margin I would say. A GS would be far closer due to the 20 ish KG drop in weight. Cheers 🍻

      @@Revviews Thanks for the reply. I’m going on a test ride of this bike but from what you say I might find this uncomfortable too, maybe I’m just not designed for adventure bikes. I believe the bars are narrower than the GS/GSA though so you never know.
