      I thought I was the only one who did that. You can always tell if someone really knows what they're doing by the way they take off and land. This cat knows what he's doing. It's nice to see someone who knows how to use a rudder!

    What a delightful flight Jack! The best demonstration of the joy of flight I've seen. I've seen so many RC aircraft videos of all models great and small and I usually just watch the takeoff and landing. Most of what is in the middle I tend to find uninteresting. Jack demonstrates more than anyone I've seen a simple joy and delight of flight. He has a super capable model and I couldn't look away. You created that feeling of awe I found for those german indoor giant yet super lightweight aircraft that just seem to hang in the air but you achieved it outdoors with a giant scale full spec model. Respect! Well done!

    Well, that one topped everything else youve put up, in my opinion anyways! I could watch him fly that cub all day. The low speed “kickover” turns he was doing almost like figure eights were hypnotic. Im sure there is a name for that maneuver but I always called them kickovers. That twin never seemed to get past maybe 1/3 throttle? Obviously making more than enough power to effortlessly make any move he wants. I do believe I have reset my model as far as a large scale airframe goes, I want one of these!!! Excellent filming as usual, man that was awesome.

      Very true Joe, based on what I have done with that model, I think its best to actually up the engine size, so that it has more torque to swing a bigger prop, then you can fly on the lower rpm range. I see to many needing to be flown on higher rpm to track right, resulting in the sound to visual not making sense to the audience.

      Hi, Jack here... thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words.
      In answer to your question, yes and much bigger actually... if you type in 50% piper cub electric, you should find the blue scheme, which a guy modified and made electric. Hopefully that helps!

    • @rcgreaves
      @rcgreaves 2 года назад

      Yes absolutely it could be electric, and generally when weights are compared my examples such as the Senior Telemaster all come out lighter- about 10-20%. I go back and forth about gas power- it’s part of the charm of this video right? “ Light is always right” with aircraft, but Above 25% scale , 40% here, the wing loading is very low in deed. Again, thanks for sharing, it motivates me to finish my winter projects!

    • @michaellipousky9143
      @michaellipousky9143 2 года назад

      You would ruin this plane with electricity! Not only does it need that sound, it is much more economical. Could you imagine the batteries you would have to bring to fly all afternoon? You would have to bring batteries to charge batteries! And you couldn’t bring enough for a day let alone a weekend! You would have to have a generator, and some seriously expensive charging equipment. When he is just going to top off his radio battery, crank some fuel in it, and fly fly fly!

    That's a beautiful area to fly, just interested to know what state or country?

    2:55 amazing, 1 of 75 videos with a pilot who can actually "use" his throttle! Eye yam sew seek'tired of full throttle flights with sketchy landings, oh and take-offs which always look out of control. I feel better.

      Thanks Carlos, and as pete said 22kg, I plan to do an overhaul and add some nice scale details, so hopefully I can keep the wait down, let's see how she responds, I'm going to run some flight test before hand

    32x12 on a DLE111 😱 isnt that a too big of a prop for that engine? or is that the reason why it is running rich?

      seems fine to me wolf !

      Apologies Wolf, I gave Pete the wrong info 😬 30x13 I'm running... I have the engine tuned rich, I find it better for flying on the bottom end, I just have to warm it back up and open her out slowly when doing maneuvers. An Oilily rag is all part of the fun with this aircraft.

    • @didierneeferc
      @didierneeferc 2 года назад

      @@RIPnDIPfpv well even a 30x13 is quite big for this engine! manual gives out a 26x12 up to a 28x10 😅 (I got this engine too and not sure what prop to run with it yet tho good to know it handles a 30x13 that well!)

      @@didierneeferc ah what they say is only ever guidance to deliver a product successfully and safely... in the end, it depends on what you're trying to achieve, if I was wanting more rpm and respons, then it wouldn't be so smart, but I wanted the low rpm, low prop noise but with the torque to pull her round in the wing overs whilst keeping in the lower rpm range.
