How frustrating that the dangerous dog owner is protected from consequences and this woman's dog was forced to pay for that negligence with its life. How backwards can it get? Honolulu typically rises to aid the attacker and punish the survivors, and at the same time igonores basic safety conditions for citizens which subject them to harm and property loss. Im now visiting another state, and its remarkable how much different law enforcement operates here- you would never believe it! The police here are completely transparent about their arrests and calls, which are PUBLISHED in the local paper for all citizens to see. The public log includes them responding to all kinds of calls and problems that are almost never addressed in Honolulu, even noise complaints. They actually follow up and arrest people and then they charge them for the crimes they did- no downgrading the charges or dismissing the cases automatically. The difference is massive and refreshing to see, and it seems to control the crime somewhat.
What a horrible way for a little sweetie to go. Traumatized, frightened and wounded. Why can’t this woman sue the pet’s owner for allowing it to go loose? There is nothing that came to fruition. Sincerest condolences to that smart, kind lady. I love dogs more than I like most people.
I have a yorkie that has been attacked by 2 huskies and 1 german Sheppard (all off leash) and each time ive had to hold him over my head and that's been terrifying because I'm only 5'2" and those dogs are huge and can jump. We were lucky they weren't any more aggressive. Large pet owners are often stupid and leave their "trusted" pets off leash not thinking about how one mistake can be dire for a much smaller animal. We don't have strong enough laws in place to protect our pets because theyre still considered property and not living things.
So Hawaii does not have a "Leash Law" for dogs?? I would like to know what that dog owner told the Court to get this "Dangerous Dog Citation" dismissed... I just don't get Hawaii's Judicial System?! I hope she sues that dog owner...
I know how that feeling scared, terrified and thinking about all the times.I got beaten by my next door neighbors dogs I m lucky I have my own dog saved my life
This just makes me so so so very angry. Kiki was a child.Kiki was her her child, and she was brutally murdered because someone couldn't control their dog. 😠😡🤬 No doggie or owner should have to go through this. Kiki did not deserve this. She just wanted to enjoy her walk around her block. 💐🌈💐🌈💐

I thought Hawai'i had leash laws?
@@Castaway..... They do, its just not enforced which is common theme in Hawaii
@@ichigobankai2343yep….. if people don’t enforce those laws, nobody will ever follow those laws.
That is messed up.

Very sad story .
The old lady still has a smart mind.

You always gotta keep your guards up while walking on the street. Know your surroundings.
I doubt if presence of mind would have stopped an aggressive dog from hurting that little pet.

so nothing happened to the big dangerous dog and negligent owner?
