Hi Hannah. Good job getting Kris’ pipes all sorted, greatly needed I expect. We are waiting for a proper date and introduction.
I'm impressed you are so well acquainted with the state of Kris's pipe ;P I don't think I need an introduction really. Just a friend who thinks he is doing an amazing thing, and who feels blessed to get to go and play in the mud with him :D
Hannah Buddle nothing wrong with a bit of a “romp” in the mud now and then I suppose. 😜 Kris has a wonderful place to bathe🛀 as well. Just a “friend” eh. We shall see...we shall see. Kris sure has had quite the hitch in his get along since you’ve been coming round these days and he’s being oh so productive.
We are very definitely just friends. If we wanted to be dating each other, we would be. I'm sure you can tell we're not the kind of people to not get on with things when we decide to :)
I keep waiting for you to unearth some old ruins with an update, "Well, the Council of Historical Archeology has ordered me to stop digging...."
Hannah is a keeper!
The winch was too loud. We did fit a lot in (hurr) but mostly the hot innuendo action happened while we weren't filming for you guys >< I think we can say that Kris's pipe is well laid now though :P
I hope that you two folks are still together after these last 4 years … you sound like a great partner for Kris. Xx
Another great video. Actually laughed out loud at the 'innuendo' comment. You working through this wintry weather is putting me to shame and making me want to get on with my own project!
Hi Kris ,another great video showing how you used your skills and imagination to get the job done. Looking forward to see you plugging in the pipe and generating some Watts . When you power up your turbine for the time that buzz will be the best😎😎
"Hooman... I halp you" *receives belly rubs*
I love the ingenuity and the effort that you put in to your projects. Your time and money and learning help all of us understand so much more. We watch every step of your progress and are thrilled with your "self reliance". Don't get conned into a bigger and better house someday. You will find that your cob home will stand the test of time and will provide everything you need. If you need more space, add on, but this house will provide great satisfaction for the rest of your life. Outstanding effort!
I felt like I was binge watching Netflix. When the episode ended I went searching for the next just to realize that I would have to wait. LOL you got my subscription.
Hannah: Hard as nails. Not afraid to get dirty, and do some work. And the girl has brains as well!!! (I'm thinking had she been the one at the pole, she would have anticipated the end of the pipe and tied it off, to not let it go flying your way.) Also, it seems to me it would have been better to pull that pipe, keeping it laid flat. So that it unwound, circling the pole. Instead of letting loops go over the top. You would not have been struggling with it later, trying to deal with those loops... Ah, hindsight. LOL
We tried doing that with the pipe but it did not want to spin around the pole. it just wanted to kink so we changed our method. that was the reason i put the pole in the ground. but it didn't work.
I've tired this with 3/4" pipe, it bunches up around the pole and kinks.
I wondered about that, because it did look like your intention, when you put the pole in the ground. Good to know, so I won't make the same mistake should I try it.
selador11 Thank you for the compliments 😊 I'm just doing my best to keep up with the master 😘
selador11 I agree
That yellow thing is really smart thinking :)
When the pipe first uncoiled I thought, museum art on the lawn. Lol
To bad the sun wasn't out and warming up the pipe.
Fantastic ingenuity and determination!
Blessings ~
I am reminded of the Swiss Family Robinson chapter where the snake ate the donkey.
I only found out about you only yesterday but I instantly loved this series and subscribed instantly. Great videos.
Kris has been laying *BARE* pipe in this episode
Yet again you pack a lot of interesting info into a nice short video. I am amazed you don't get more views, your commitment to sharing your journey is awesome 👍
I have really been enjoying this series. Cant wait to see it up and running! hope it is worth all the hard work :)
Innuendos?? What could anyone possibly say about Hannah guiding your bell-ended snake where it needs to go???? ;-)
We'd have done a lot more innuending if we'd been able to hear each other over the winch! Still, it did provide some giggles and make a soggy job more fun :)
Perseverance level 1000. mud welsh rain , keep going .. Good job man ! and woman !
Thanks! It was pretty dismal by the end, but thankfully not cold! If I'd been soaked through like that AND cold, I'd have called it a day much sooner. I do need some actually useful boots though. Mine just had puddles in them all day!
Now we know how crop circles are made.
Pipe-snakes! Even when it was the aliens, I knew it was them!
Hey Kris.
Stumbled into your video playlist of micro hydros. Watched all 15. Fascinating stuff. I love solar. Have built and used quite a few micro solar systems for various reasons.
Loving the effort. Cheers for taking us for the ride
I see you designing your own gyro copter and glider some day. This is a great accomplishment.
Dude I never seen anyone bust their ass as much as you do! Well Done!!
He's a machine :D
well done kris! cant wait for more of this series.
You all deserve a Good Hot Meal and Stiff Drink after all that..
I loved that giant slinky moment with the pipe! Great job laying the pipe. (Wheyy)
First videos I look for every day. All innuendo aside!! It takes a lot of pipe to satisfy a cabins power needs
Hells yeah, man. gettin damn close!! Good on ya mates for giving you a hand too!
You can now add 'giant slinky wrangler' to your CV. ;)
Innuendo about laying pipe? Sir, I assure you I am more mature than th- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I laughed when you mentioned innuendo. I was going to say, laying pipe means something different in my country haha. I see it means the same across the pond.
Much innuendo can be had when you're laying a big, stiff pipe in wet, slippery conditions! :P
Had not expected it to go that smooth- that winch is super
I'm in love with the winch, seriously >
I make fishing leaders, so I saw that curling problem coming a mile away.
Innuedo? Just because you’re laying pipe, doing some drilling maybe even a bit of pumping? Where’s the innuendo?
looks like the dog was having the most fun
What is this pipe called? Looking for it in the states for our hydro project
Cool. Did you see that yellow UFO?
Kris thought it looked like one too haha! It was so wet the camera was just getting water all over it and going blurry. Some stretches it really looked like a huge snake plowing through the woodland. Totally awesome :)
Kris how much land do you have
Bloody hell, I've been laying in bed all weekend whilst you lot have been dragging that beast of a pipe through the woods.
Dom W This is my day off!
Wow, hard work! Excellent vid.
This is crazy and really awesome!
good job I think I'm as much excited as you are to get this done, I like that yellow guide thing what a brilliant idea.
So simple, so efficient at it's job :)
You make it look so EZ. Getting close now!
Ah, the charming Craig and ever helpful Hannah, haha.
I hope you can do some more foraging stuff with Craig when the weather is nicer.
I'm going to try to get an invite as well ;) I still haven't met Craig!
Hannah Buddle I think that'd go down well, an extra pair of hands to gather/do camera stuff & there'd be more than enough food to go around, ha.
If I drop enough hints on here maybe I'll get invited in the end 🤣😉
Tell that man straight, "You're taking me foraging" ha.
He knows ;)
I've watched all your videos. Now I am on the hunt to do the same thing.
Great job both of you, very practical, I was expecting it to be a lot harder work with such cold pipe.
It was the winch! Saved the day :D
It's the mythical yellow-headed blacksnake!
Got to love a Golden Retriever making you work harder than it already is 😂
Haha pull, your pipes…. Hanna seems like a nice girl Kris lol 😂
Love how the dog wants to play fetch with the massive pipe :)
the end of the pipe on the inside of your role tie it to your post tie other ond to tractor and drive off it will unrole
Well done Kris and Hannah, that winch made light work of that.
It's my favourite thing right now :D We both agreed that we would have hated that job if we hadn't had it. There was still a lot of lugging it about (we didn't film that because we were just trying to get it done!) and going back and forth through boggy ground to get things all set up, but the winch made light work of it once it was all in place :)
once again, hannah saves the day
I try ;) Seriously, if I ever manage to just keep up with Kris I'll be proud. Just glad I can help :)
Excellent job. Greetings from the very wet Pacific northwest coast of Washington State, USA. I've been watching your progress and cannot applaud your determination and hard work enough. Well done, young master. Well done.
As a neighbor of yours, we here in the PNW can appreciate how hard it is to do these job in a shitty, wet, cold environment. I want my damned global warming (jk).
Worlds biggest slinky?
I just love I can feast on your projects Kris with your playlists. Watched all of the new studio build and now watching this marvel of water turbines.. ya clever sod ❤🔥
Cool loved the winch have used hand turfer winch before but that is great.
How lucky you are with friends who don't mind getting thoroughly muddy and probably totally knick knacked as well.
Great work! It's going to be such a milestone when you are generating hydro electric. Also... nowhere near enough 'laying pipe' jokes!
Jaysus! A digger, a tractor, what DON'T you have???
Job well done
Hard work. Im wait for next video. Thanks :)
Big yellow Willy in the woods lol 😂
3:16 doggo fun
Hi Kris - full of admiration of your inventiveness. One question; did you have to obtain planning permission for erection the various structures you have built?
Dog getting belly rubs 3:21
Great work in shitty weather, bet that cup of tea tasted extra good after that.
Does not help the fact that it is cold for unrolling pipe
I love hearing the sound of the rain when it’s chucking it down on your shed roof and also in the roundhouse
Another enjoyable vid keep them coming dude
As a Welshman, Winter in Wales is borderline aquatic.
I felt like a trout swimming up stream!
Kris Harbour You are doing well...looking forward to those hydro power calculations.
Oh Hanna, thank u so much for helping Kris pull his pipe......especially that it’s flared.......
It was my pleasure! It was long and hard and required stamina, but we did a good job in the end >
Hannah Buddle oh, u got it in the end too.....well done laddie! Was it rope attached to the digger? No really....great job...This project is great and Hannah, you lass are a gem.....
Well thank you 😊 It is an amazing project. Can't wait to see Kris all turned on! 🤣
Hannah Buddle well.....if his lite gets bright I’m okay with that.....but I don’t know about a fully loaded pipe, buried deep in the mounds.....can he control it.....he seems pretty intent with getting the post in the hole.....not so concerned with laying the pipe.....hahahaha....great retort.....love this channel......just fill it with pipe
You've got me chuckling 😂 Yep, buried deep in the wet mounds... loads of subscribers waiting for his pipe to spurt powerfully and turn everything on... This job is a goldmine of innuendo!
for a while there ypou had an amazing piece of sculpture
Excellent keep the videos coming i love everything u are doing
Hey man can you do a tour video of your property so far and everything youve done
Start pulling on some pipe. Well done sir.
Good and great work. Well done.
Work hard
🌈❤️💪👍
Greetings from Germany :)
Not long now.
Lawdy craig messed up that pipe! You installed that post so the reel would roll around it and pull it all straight then the madman goes and throws it all over the top making a field sized slinky!
it does look a bit like that. the reason he did that was because the pipe would not unroll around the post. it was just trying to kink. so we changed the plan and just decide to get the loops out once it was off the roll.
Well done.
Any major damage to the pipe? I would rather dig a trench and use rigid KG PVC pipe system... But I do not know if it is known in the UK...
The pipe is totally undamaged. It would take a lot more than that to damage it!
Hannah Buddle - really? I am glad to heard that! Cheers...
Yeah, it's got really thick walls and is really tough. It wouldn't go anywhere it didn't want to!
Awesome work !!
Brilliant, well done.
great job!!!
Great job.
impressive.
I thought you were supposed to lay the pipe in the loft? =P
Classy
Hahaha, did you think of that innuendo comment from that Instagram post you did? haha i was like, jaysus guys keep it PG13 :D :D
Matrim Helmsgaard The innuendo has been non stop on this job to be honest 😂
No, i get it. its important to get the pipes sorted and make sure the pressure is managed correctly, you dont want it going everywhere. Just hope there is enough power in Kris's system to meet up with the requirements ;)
His flow is more than ample, I'm sure 😂
Well done guys & Girls! Wet is one thing but what doesn't come across is the temperature, it has been bl**dy cold over the past two days! You all deserve to have a well-deserved rest.
Getting closer to that turbine spinning up!
Thank goodness it wasn't too cold, though by the end of the day we were both wringing wet and miserable anyway haha!
I've just started watching this and I am cringing, "the biggest corkscrew this side of the Mississippi." Oh mate!
Either unroll each coil bit by bit or make a rig where the entire roll rotates as your pull the end away.
If you managed to get that into the trench without snapping or ceasing the pipe I will be amazed.
.............
Just finished watching, presumably you managed to untwist the pipe to get the kinks out while it was laid out in the field before you pulled it.
Well done for getting it done in that weather.
😀
it only took me an craig 2 hours to unroll both coils. we let them spin as i pulled them with the tractor and that got the loops out as they were able to spin at both ends. you may not agree but i can assure you there was no faster way to do it than that. it would have taken me twice that long just to make a rig to hold the pipe.
Kris Harbour.... thanks for the reply mate, I guessed that was what you did.
On your own equipment you can what ever you want and you make your own judgements. If you stress the pipe and it fails that's your own leaning curve, either way it's your pipe you do what you want.
If one of my contractors did it like that though I would throw them off site LOL.
I am a big fan of your work, love your videos so please keep em coming.
I hope all goes well.
😀
Often you have to fit your method to the circumstances and the location of where you are working.
Totally agree with the commenters above. Maybe it's not the perfect way to do it, but sometimes you don't have the right equipment and you just have to use the stuff at hand.
Great job Kris!
You could have done the same setup, use the excavator to hold the pipe with a big pole in the middle, Then unroll with the same tractor. Everyone knows you have take the kink out, Shezz, same mistake PURE LIVING FOR LIFE made, took him 2 days to unkink it.
First
Your videos about micro hydro systems brought me to these videos about micro hydro systems, two very different approaches but both really enjoyable to watch. I love it when RUclips makes stuff like that happen :)
I was taken the opposite direction, back in April, when Joe was building the dam. Good work, from you, as well, Joe. :)
Ohhh..thats what the title meant by 'laying the pipe.' I was misunderstood...thumbs up still!
