    Hi Hannah. Good job getting Kris’ pipes all sorted, greatly needed I expect. We are waiting for a proper date and introduction.

      @hannahbuddle2786 6 лет назад +6

      I'm impressed you are so well acquainted with the state of Kris's pipe ;P I don't think I need an introduction really. Just a friend who thinks he is doing an amazing thing, and who feels blessed to get to go and play in the mud with him :D

    • @truly1676
      @truly1676 6 лет назад +1

      Hannah Buddle nothing wrong with a bit of a “romp” in the mud now and then I suppose. 😜 Kris has a wonderful place to bathe🛀 as well. Just a “friend” eh. We shall see...we shall see. Kris sure has had quite the hitch in his get along since you’ve been coming round these days and he’s being oh so productive.

      We are very definitely just friends. If we wanted to be dating each other, we would be. I'm sure you can tell we're not the kind of people to not get on with things when we decide to :)

      The winch was too loud. We did fit a lot in (hurr) but mostly the hot innuendo action happened while we weren't filming for you guys >< I think we can say that Kris's pipe is well laid now though :P

    I love the ingenuity and the effort that you put in to your projects. Your time and money and learning help all of us understand so much more. We watch every step of your progress and are thrilled with your "self reliance". Don't get conned into a bigger and better house someday. You will find that your cob home will stand the test of time and will provide everything you need. If you need more space, add on, but this house will provide great satisfaction for the rest of your life. Outstanding effort!

    Hannah: Hard as nails. Not afraid to get dirty, and do some work. And the girl has brains as well!!! (I'm thinking had she been the one at the pole, she would have anticipated the end of the pipe and tied it off, to not let it go flying your way.) Also, it seems to me it would have been better to pull that pipe, keeping it laid flat. So that it unwound, circling the pole. Instead of letting loops go over the top. You would not have been struggling with it later, trying to deal with those loops... Ah, hindsight. LOL

    • @KrisHarbour
      @KrisHarbour  6 лет назад +5

      We tried doing that with the pipe but it did not want to spin around the pole. it just wanted to kink so we changed our method. that was the reason i put the pole in the ground. but it didn't work.

    • @JoeMalovich
      @JoeMalovich 6 лет назад +3

      I've tired this with 3/4" pipe, it bunches up around the pole and kinks.

    • @selador11
      @selador11 6 лет назад +2

      I wondered about that, because it did look like your intention, when you put the pole in the ground. Good to know, so I won't make the same mistake should I try it.

    Lawdy craig messed up that pipe! You installed that post so the reel would roll around it and pull it all straight then the madman goes and throws it all over the top making a field sized slinky!

    • @KrisHarbour
      @KrisHarbour  6 лет назад +2

      it does look a bit like that. the reason he did that was because the pipe would not unroll around the post. it was just trying to kink. so we changed the plan and just decide to get the loops out once it was off the roll.

  • @robg521
    @robg521 6 лет назад +1

    I've just started watching this and I am cringing, "the biggest corkscrew this side of the Mississippi." Oh mate!
    Either unroll each coil bit by bit or make a rig where the entire roll rotates as your pull the end away.
    If you managed to get that into the trench without snapping or ceasing the pipe I will be amazed.
    .............
    Just finished watching, presumably you managed to untwist the pipe to get the kinks out while it was laid out in the field before you pulled it.
    Well done for getting it done in that weather.
    😀

    • @KrisHarbour
      @KrisHarbour  6 лет назад +4

      it only took me an craig 2 hours to unroll both coils. we let them spin as i pulled them with the tractor and that got the loops out as they were able to spin at both ends. you may not agree but i can assure you there was no faster way to do it than that. it would have taken me twice that long just to make a rig to hold the pipe.

    • @robg521
      @robg521 6 лет назад +1

      Kris Harbour.... thanks for the reply mate, I guessed that was what you did.
      On your own equipment you can what ever you want and you make your own judgements. If you stress the pipe and it fails that's your own leaning curve, either way it's your pipe you do what you want.
      If one of my contractors did it like that though I would throw them off site LOL.
      I am a big fan of your work, love your videos so please keep em coming.
      I hope all goes well.

      Often you have to fit your method to the circumstances and the location of where you are working.

      Totally agree with the commenters above. Maybe it's not the perfect way to do it, but sometimes you don't have the right equipment and you just have to use the stuff at hand.
      Great job Kris!

      You could have done the same setup, use the excavator to hold the pipe with a big pole in the middle, Then unroll with the same tractor. Everyone knows you have take the kink out, Shezz, same mistake PURE LIVING FOR LIFE made, took him 2 days to unkink it.

      Your videos about micro hydro systems brought me to these videos about micro hydro systems, two very different approaches but both really enjoyable to watch. I love it when RUclips makes stuff like that happen :)

      I was taken the opposite direction, back in April, when Joe was building the dam. Good work, from you, as well, Joe. :)
