    I wonder if your scale is slightly broken. The V1 1300 should be around 220g. Also yeah, the V3 pulls so much harder, just less capacity.

    • @tehllama42
      @tehllama42 5 лет назад

      Odds are if it's pulling harder, it's still putting that same energy into the battery as heat, just is still pulling - which would mean you get less effective capacity, but that's a tradeoff I'll make all day everyday

  • @ugpfpv361
    @ugpfpv361 5 лет назад +2

    Yeah I'm always suspicious when a battery says it's the same size as others but is so much lighter... Either it's not going to give the same amps or it's a lower mAh rating.
    Oh and Andy rc did a unscientific test of the new r-line (which is lighter) and the old heavier r-line and found the old actually performed better

    The Tattu is 75C and the GNB is 130C... I'm a beginner but I can tell the difference between my 100C and 120C packs... I always gladly pay the extra $7 for the higher C rating. The packs seem to last longer as well for some reason, maybe something to do with internal resistance, I don't know that much about the chemistry.

    the original Hawk 5, IMO, is definitely one of THE top pre-built quads you can buy! The thing flys on a rail out of the box, bind it, fly it, done! I have since added the 6” arms to my original, and for 4s, it kicks ass with the 6” prop! Awesome to hear EMax has come out with a new Hawk Cock 5! Sorry had to crack it! I have a set of the ECO motor, which is a good motor, but I wished they would have put something different on that, motor wise. Personally, I think 5s is the perfect blend of everything in a quad motor. EMax, you’ve done the tiny, the mid, the 5”, it’s time to being us an EMax 7” ferruginous hawk!

    I run those same eco motors on 6s. They get a little warm when you run them really hard and I haven't had desync issues yet. So I don't think they are actually 2400kv either

    Those gnb batteries are monsters. I have the 1100 and 1250 130c batteries. There exactly what you want. Consistent power with the most minimum sag. The only issue is there heavy so in turn your quad pulls more amps. I'm testing the best power to weight on my new 6s chameleon. So far I'm really liking the 1050, size tattu r line 95c hv. Definitely feels incredible in the air. I have that 1000 gnb I seen here on the way. Didn't know they had a 1000. Just kept seeing 1100 and up looking. Nice head's up on that one

    someone opened up that nano antenna and found its actually *not* circular polarized. maybe that why the vtx doesnt seem to perform great: the bottleneck is in the antenna

    • @pkvillager
      @pkvillager 5 лет назад

      @@Kabab The Magnum VTX has always been less than great, its just OK. A PIFA antenna can be circularized. I ran two LHCP Nano's with the DJI system and I saw an improvement in reception. If they were just linear I would have seen a decrease since the goggles antennas are LHCP. But I took one apart too and cant tell how they circularize the signal based on the paper posted on Reddit. Infact my LHCP looks just like the one posted by TrueRC so it would be interesting to know if the one they opened was LHCP or RHCP. I just don't see Emax lying about something so easily exposed. They aren't like some chineseium companies that just put out stuff for no reason.

    i bet the led motors add quite a bit of resistance at high throttle since the lights are between the motor itself and the esc wires and thats whats limiting your speed or making it feel like a lower kv

    Hello mr. KababFPV... Very nice video. This video is one of the reasons why instead of building my first quad, I opted to just get the pnp version of the hawk 5 pro because I have zero experience with quads. Now I'm thinking that I should have got the BNF version lol. Anyway, do I need to solder the RX onto this drone or are there pins that I just can connect them to? If not I have to get a solder iron... I do have a FlySky RX i bought 2 years ago but never used... It has pins on it :)

    I have to give Emax respect on the battery idea, honestly. A few extra grams or 5% less speed is worth the tradeoff to a lot of people. I mean aesthetics are part of the fun in this hobby - who doesn't want their quad to look cool? Would be nice to see some line of sight footage on the quad at dusk.

    The new fc firmwares allow perfect scaling of power output to the motors so now you can just scale a 2650kv 4s rig to fly at 65% capacity and throw on a 6s battery instead of replacing your motors to like 1700kv. What are your thoughts on this? Wild willy posted a video about it today in case what I said is confusing.

    • @Kabab
      @Kabab  5 лет назад

      when limiting output, the quad still revs higher during control changes and draws lots of amp bursts still because the motors can spin up. They may be limited but the instant draw is still high. It also does something to the performance if you limit it too much but I can't really explain what very well. It's weird and changes from motor to motor. Enough minor issues for me to say I prefer the right kv to begin with....
