Southstar made a "remix" of this song and posted it to spotify and youtube without permission from oliver. this part is unkown but one of oliver tree managment posted to instagram that robin schulz purchased the beat off of southstar, oliver had no idea this was happening, when Robin and Oliver reposted southstars remix because southstar sold it to robin, southstar saw that IT WAS GAINING ATTENTION, so southstar had the perfect idea to take to instagram and say "he stwole my bweat :(((" Even if Robin did steal the beat which is wrong of robin to do, we have Proof that southstar sold it. Oliver had nothing to do with it. Southstar is in the wrong. southstar was profiting off of a remix, remix's cannot be profited off without permission of the original artist. There are tons of stupid people out here that see "oh southstars video was posted before this one so he stole it!!" like do some f**king reasearch. Your information is completely wrong. You do not need permission to create a 'cover-remix' like Southstar did; large labels such as this one signed contracts with distributors through Spotify. So, as long as you do not illegally "sample" the original, you are free to re-sing the lyrics and credit the original songwriter which will automatically receive a cut from each stream. This is not my opinion, this is a fact on how the system works. What happened is that Robin Schulz copied Southstar's composition-the piano, the drums, the bassline, almost 1:1. Assuming Southstar's version hasn't been sold, which is a good assumption to make because they're both still up on Spotify and other DSPs, it's just a straight up intellectual property theft.
