Robin Schulz did create the track but meant to release under a fake name. Being that Southstar seems very new in this as compared to Schulz who has plenty of production credit.

Originally it was made and published without permission like literally almost every remix ever. However Southstar then agreed to give the creators of Jerk all the Revenue that Jerk made. You don’t seem to understand that what Southstar did was basically illegal, since he changed the original without the consent of the original author / copyright owner.
That’s why Robin Schulz and Oliver Tree decided to produce a cover version of the Southstar song which per se is legal, as long as they don’t change the song in any ways.
The whole purpose of releasing the cover was to shine light on Southstar‘s illegal action but apparently the brain power of the average RUclips user can’t process the technicalities of the whole thing

Southstar is just too small to fight a legal battle and they know that.
Either way artistically and morally Schulz failed competely by stealing a young producers work, even if Southstars behaviour was immoral as well.

He is the only one, who produce this kind of Song. What happend here is stealing from a small Artist.

OK to clarify all this in a short way:
The singer Oliver Tree released ‘Jerk’ in 2020.
Two years later, a small producer called Southstar made a remix using Oliver’s vocals. Not even having the rights for it.
The song went unnoticed for a while, until someone promoted his song on Instagram.
It got to Oliver Tree’s attention and Oliver complained about it, so Southstar made a new version with someone else’s vocals and cleared the rights with Oliver Tree and his team.
Then not even a month later, Robin Schulz made the EXACT same instrumental but in his style, and then collaborated with Oliver (probably because they’re on the same label), and made a new song.
Oliver’s response to the fallout will probably be a banger like this one… Oh wait 💀

For clarification, Oliver made a song called “Jerk”. South star then made a different instrumental for Oliver’s song. He also made the voice pitch higher. After this, Oliver then sampled south stars instrumental. Oliver also sang his lyrics to “Jerk”. I hope this clears things up.
