I like this industrial look more. And the durability is a testament of this bases, there are 10 years old bases of accuforce out there rock solid. We cant say the same of the other brands.
Sorry Shaun but there is no way a stepper motor is the way to go the cogging on the AccuForce was extreme, my Simucube is pretty much identical to the SimSteering motor for feel and these are also used by professional race teams. There is no issue with torque delivery on a servo.
Ricmotech makes good stuff. That is a great looking outfit. Lot of money, but a lot of stuff. If I was doing PC only and I was really good, I would be looking at it seriously. Add those hydraulic pedals, full movement and a 4090 PC... I bet it would be great to race with. Right up to the wobble test. I went with the Fanatec QR2 which uses pyramidal shapes and a "conibear" trap style connection. Conibear traps have two parallel wires that open up and then clench down. The two opposing pyramidal shapes are wedged in under tension. It works really well. I have my 14" truck driving wheel on and there is just no wiggle or wobble. I was not a fan of the way it looked at first, but it is really tight. It is a big jump over the QR1 metallic ones I had on my CSL Elite.
I've upgraded the Accuforce to a SC2 Pro four years ago and no regrets. I also was using the Accuforce for a month after because I was one of the few people who had an RMA with the SC2 Pro. My laptimes dropped during that time and didn't enjoy AMS2 compare to the SC2 but BeamNG felt much better with the Accuforce at that time, which delivered a crazy FFB with the SC2. What I miss with the AF is the smoothness and self aligning force to feel when the car is overstepping.
Having an actual dashboard is my plan. But I will be building my own for truck driving sims with functioning gauges and the like. My Fanatec CSL DD is more than adequate for truck driving and occasional racing.
Yeah I got the ali express 8nm boost kit (50aud). And I have over a decade of truck driving experience... the csl dd puts out more torque than a moving truck. However the stationary turning 9n trucks to be simulated, would need to be set to use that 8nm to its full potential
Just wondering how do you think it compares against the competition? You've mentioned how much you like the motor and wheel base but not much on the subtle differences between the wheel bases, except a small overview at the end.
i'm debating to sell my simagic mini as i can get a Lenze that's 29NM that's less than half the price of a Alpha U, the mini doesn't have enough head room. Not sure about the huge PSU/control box though as the cables are massive, proper industrial size. Also not sure what software it uses, i don't have the patience or want to trouble shoot game problems.
@@blinkybillski don’t leave a snarky comment if you don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m asking about the adapter from the motor shaft which is not a standard size. Either way just upgraded to a simagic Alpha U so no longer needed.
I had an Accuforce Pro V2 before switch to an Alpha Mini. They're really nothing special. My AF V2 had tons of issues which never got fixed when I sent it to the factory, it was noisy, and the minute I got on a game with a high HZ ffb system it made horrid grinding noises. Sim Commander is clunky at best and extremely outdated. The settings are so overwhelming that if you don't want to spend hours tuning the wheel it's basically pointless, I also found the auto tuner to leave a lot to be desired and only logged laps 50% of the time. Get something newer and more refined, both this and the Accuforce are outdated and a much less user-friendly experience to get feeling nice than the newer bases.
Anyone else think the fit and finish leave a lot to be desired?
That's kinda par for the course for Ricmotech. They charge a ton of money for tech with decade-old production values.

Ricmotech is such a good store... Definitely worth the 3 hour drive South I have to take to get there.

The cogging is very minimal. Clipping, clipping is the issue in toque.
I thought this is a repost or some kind....because that level of finishing is blast from the past lol
I am commenting while watching! Thank you for the video, peace✌️

How long did Fanatec take to get their though? So many discarded interfaces. Meanwhile Asetek got it perfect on the first try.
The button box just looks a bit old. To me it looks like it would be amazing in 2015. But visually today something about it looks dated
I would love to see some backlit buttons on this.

Wow, you really like this DD wheel!

does the dash unit fit around simagic or simucube wheel bases? that dash is sweet
I got a brand new Cammus LP8 this week and it’s amazing cost me 400 bucks.

Are all of your different sims on one PC ? Great video as usual !!!!!!!!!
Yeah people don't get it. These bases are next level good. Its simucube top base level.
I try to tell them.
And the buttons and sticker look cheap on the dash and wheel
looks like an accuforce v2 without the base cover
it is with a massively lightened wheel mount
@@TheSimpit will ricmotech sell the light wheel mount solo? Don’t see it listed on the site, and would like to try it on my Accuforce.
@@Doing_The_Thing ,lol buy one anywhere that sells sim gear

lol this is overpriced garbage. It’s old tech in a new housing 😂 $1600 is ridiculous!
yeah, for the Price, i préfère fanatec DD+ or simagic alpha ultimate or moza R21
@@dzsimus1206You could get a real simucube sc2 pro at this cost. Which the case of this frankenstein is copying.
Is this DD better then Leo Bodner DD Shaun ?
I'd say yes, not because of the motor, but because of the software and its capabilities.
The wrap around cable is a deal breaker.
I think many people will agree with you there
Can this be front or side mounted?
Front Mount only
$1,630.00 for a 3d printed 16nm deviсe? yeah, good luck

that is a terrbile outcome. I can say it opposite of my experiences.
Overpriced!
Ricmotechs pricing has always made me cringe!
16nm ? I’m I going crazy of this is way over priced and that power supply is super loud
$ per Newton Meter that is expensive
Ricmotech products were good for it's time. But Now, there are just too many other options.
Yea... no.
Just buy a SC2 Pro
