  • In this video I install a bluetooth stereo and 6 x 9 speakers in my 1970 Cuda. The car hasn't had a stereo since I bought it. Since I have the interior apart while I have been working on it this winter now is a good time to install a stereo and speakers.

I bought some speaker fabric and cut pieces to cover the underside of the package tray, to keep the speakers hidden.
Also added speaker baffles, to keep the sound from going into the trunk.
I also covered my front speakers in the dash in my 69 Charger RTSE with R22 AM 8 track. It’s been modernised internally, AM/FM 8 track, MP3, Bluetooth, AUX, USB, hands free.
I follow you here and on instagram.

all good suggestions, I should look into the speaker baffles to keep from loosing sound in the trunk. If/when I redo my dash adding front speaker would help. Thanks for following along...just followed you back on I/G!

Great video, I came across this as I ordered the same Sony DSX-GS80 head unit from Crutchfield for my '96 Bronco. I had originally replaced the factory AM/FM/Cassette radio with a floating 9" screen in single DIN form factor from Boss Audio. The Boss unit has modern features like Apple Car Play/Android Auto but I never liked the look of it in the dash with a screen sticking out and the build quality was less than expected. I'm interested in how your Cuda progresses.

Thanks I appreciate it! How have you liked the Sony head unit? I have done a lot of projects with it over the last couple years but there’s more to come. Thanks for tuning in👍

Hi Wayne, great instructional video as usual. Off topic, what are those 2 gauges under your dash? I have the same rallye dash as you in my 70 Challenger and I'm thinking of adding an oil pressure gauge and a voltmeter since my rallye dash oil pressure gauge is very inaccurate and I did the ammeter bypass so the ammeter is not accurate at all.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate it! Those two gauges are fuel pressure and AFR. They really were key in tuning the car. I had my gauges rebuilt by redline but I am still thinking about adding an oil pressure gauge…I would feel a lot better about seeing an actual number there.

@@backyardhotrods9885 I used a mechanical gauge to check oil pressure and it showed 75lbs at idle. The in dash gauge only makes it to just above the first notch. 🤔
